    yesterday (Sept. 27, 1956) after he
    suffered a heart attack at the
    Thomas Cox Co. yards, in 13th
    St., where he had worked for 40
    years.
    A Fire Department first aid
    squad, directed by Acting Captain
    Alfred Winter, administered oxygen
    for 10 minutes before Mr.
    Briggs was sent to the hospital in
    an ambulance.
    Mr. Briggs was a native of Wilson
    and had lived in this city for
    the last 50 years.
    He is survived by two sons.
    Emery H. Briggs, this city and
    Howard L. Briggs, Lockport; a
    daughter, Mrs. Frances Sanncy.
    Lockport; eight grandchildren and
    eight great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be conduct-
    ed at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at
    the Rcdanz Funeral Home. Burial
    will be in -North Ridge Cemetery.

    LEWISTON — Frances (nee Gresart) Rolfe, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born on August 2, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Frances (Briggs) Gresart.

    Mrs. Rolfe was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On November 25, 1947, Frances married Charles Rolfe in Lewiston, NY. He predeceased her on November 18, 1979. She was a loving person who had a big heart. Mrs. Rolfe would always lend a helping hand and put others first. Frances enjoyed bowling and crocheting. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Mrs. Rolfe is survived by nine children, Sharon Rolfe of Nevada, Rhonda Kneener of Lockport, NY, Charles Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, Michael (Wendy) Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, Paul (Krissia) Rolfe of Ransomville, NY, Donald Rolfe of Lockport, NY, David Rolfe of Lockport, NY, Frank Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, and Monia Earl of Texas, and was predeceased by one daughter, Charlene Hartman. Frances is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Gresart of Lockport, NY, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, she was also predeceased by one grandson, Brian Rolfe; one sister, Betty Lane and one brother, Herman Gresart.

    There will be no prior visitation. A private graveside committal service will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Western New York, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Ste. 6, Williamsville, NY 14221, or to a charity of one's choice.     LOCKPORT — Joan Elizabeth Gresart, a longtime resident of Lockport, died peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Herman Gresart and Frances (nee Briggs) Gresart. She attended school in Niagara Falls, NY.

    She was predeceased by her brother, Herman Gresart and sisters, Frances "Peggy" Rolfe and Betty Lane; step-father, George Sanney and several step-brothers and sisters. Joan is survived by her sons, Christopher (Sandra) Gresart and William Gresart, both of Lockport; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

    Joan worked and the Bickford Box Company, Kendzie's Lounge and the Salvation Army, where she retired from in 1999. She was well-known in the Lockport community through her work at the Salvation Army, and her volunteering after retirement at the Salvation Army/Sister Loretto Soup Kitchen and at the First Baptist Church. She liked spending time with her friends and family and taking walks. During her time as the Salvation Army League of Mercy Secretary, she visited and took gifts to people in local hospitals, nursing homes and institutions. She touched the lives of many people and will be dearly missed.

    Friends may call Wednesday 3 to 5 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, followed immediately by a funeral service at 5 PM. Memorials to the Salvation Army, 50 Cottage Street, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.

    David A. Rolfe, age 58 of the Town of Cambria, died Tuesday September 12, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness.

    David was born August 8, 1959 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Charles and Frances (Gresart) Rolfe. He was a welder, employed by Hebler's Corp. in Tonawanda for the past 6 years. David had also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for a number of years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

    He is survived by his siblings, twin brother Donald, Sharon Rolfe, Rhonda Kenner , Michael (Wendy), Paul (Krista), and Frank Rolfe, and Monia Earl; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Rolfe and a sister, Charlene Hartman.

    There will be no services as David had requested. Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240-9856. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.

    Charlene E. (Rolfe) Hartman, 61, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 20, 1950 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Frances (Gresart) Rolfe of Lockport, NY and the late Charles Rolfe.
    Charlene was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School in 1969. On November 24, 1973, Charlene married Donald W. Hartman in Niagara Falls, NY. She was a homemaker and cared for her children, whether they were hers or not. Charlene was very strong-willed and did the best she could with what she had. She was a mom to many and will be greatly missed, but remember this isn't goodbye, but see you later. Charlene is in our hearts. Always cherish and hold dear to the memories you have. Remember don't take for granted what life gives you. We will love and miss her, for now, with memories forever cherished. She enjoyed listening to music and crocheting many blankets.
    In addition to her mother and husband, Charlene is survived by one daughter, Toni (John) Hahn of Lockport, NY; one son, Damon Hartman of Niagara Falls, NY; and one grandson, Ethan Hahn. She is also survived by nine siblings, Michael (Wendy) Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, Paul (Krissia) Rolfe of Ransomville, NY, Charles Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, Donald Rolfe of Lockport, NY, David Rolfe of Lockport, NY, Frank Rolfe of Niagara Falls, NY, Sharon Rolfe of Nevada, Monia Earl of Texas and Rhonda Keener of Lockport, NY; her mother-in-law, Ruth Hartman; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel (June) Hartman, Dona Hartman, Deborah (Paul) Smith and Denise (Michael) Bergy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
