    by spinal meningitis,
    according to
    word from the war
    department.
    Private Briody
    had been in the
    service since June,
    soon after war
    against Germany was declared. He
    went overseas In June. He was 22
    years old. One brother and one sister
    are in the service. Francis Briody
    is in the aviation corps, stationed at
    Eberts Field, Arkansaw. Josephine
    Briody Is a Red Cross nurse in France.
    Two brothers, Thomas and John, and
    two sisters, Elizabeth and Cecelia, are
    at home.
