Middleport all of his life.
Mr. Britt retired from
Harrison's in 1962 after 37 years
of service. He also operated the
Britt Slaughter House, at his
home for the past 60 years. He
was a member of St Patrick's
Roman Catholic Church in
Barker!
He was husband of the late
Rose Britt; father of Robert G.
Britt of Middleport, Mrs. Rose
Mary Woodworm of Lockport,
Mrs. Paul (Jean) Targus of
Middleport and the late James
Britt, and was brother of
Thomas Britt of Lockport.
He Is also survived by 11
grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.

It is with sadness that the family of Rosemary Woodworth (nee Britt) announces her passing on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the age of 93. Born April 04,1930 in Lockport, she was the wife of the late Clare Woodworth, and mother to Michael, Rose Ann, Daniel, and Shannon. Rosemary will also be affectionally remembered by her grandchildren, Jessica, Heather, Cooper, Hamilton and Pierce, in addition to her great-grandchildren, Loretta, Olive, and Levon. Her personal life achievements include cash crop and sheep farming, a proud retiree of the Lockport’s Harrison Radiator, and a supersonic Concorde traveler. Most of all however, Rosemary will be remembered as a gracious lady by all that met her. Her Catholic faith was remarkable, which included her influential involvement in the St. John’s Alter & Rosary Society, in addition to the local Hibernian Society.
No prior visitation.  Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Tuesday, May 2nd at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.  Private burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.  Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to her favorite charities of either Shriners Hospital, Make A Wish, or St. Jude Hospital.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean L. Targus of Middleport, New York, who passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jean L. Targus to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by : her parents, John Britt and Rose Healy Britt; and her siblings, Rosemary Woodworth, James Britt and Robert Britt.
She is survived by : her children, Patricia Riexinger (Michael) and Mark Targus (Lauri Dreher); her grandchildren, Alexis Jean Damon (Joel) and Brooke Haight (Joshua); and her siblings-in-law, Therese and Peter Tarajos. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. (2670 Main St, Newfane, NY 14108). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Lake Parish.

Obituary of Elizabeth L. Anderson
Elizabeth Britt Anderson passed away peacefully on June 30  ,2020, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on Sept. 20, 1935, at the family's home on the Drum Road in Middleport, NY. She was the daughter of loving parents Thomas and Frances (Budynski) Britt.  Betty married the love of her life, Robert K. Anderson, on Feb. 11, 1956. She is the beloved mother of Mary (Walter) Piatkowski; Stephen (Kathy) Anderson; James (Pauline) Anderson; all of Lockport; Laura (Richard) Kent of Georgia; and Karen (Mark) Cooper of Ohio. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert and infant son Robbie, as well as her four siblings: Marcia Porter; Mary (John) Forsyth; Frank (Lucielle) Britt; and William (Diane) Britt. Betty graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1952 and Sisters of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked at St. Clare Manor in Lockport for 24 years. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, gardening, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. Betty enjoyed talking about growing up on her family's farm in Newfane and attending the one-room school next door. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren: Walter Piatkowski, Stacy (Brian) Hoffman, and Andrew Piatkowski; Brittany (Mitchell) Harrer, Megan (John) Kowalski, James (Shelby), Kayla, and Hannah Anderson; Matthew and Kristen Kent; Robert (Alyssa), Kathleen, and Ryan Cooper; and John (Erin) and Joshua Anderson; as well as her great-grandchildren: Kelly, Kyle, and Jacob Hoffman; Charlotte Harrer; Genevieve Kowalski; Ella and Lucy Anderson; and Quinn Southwell. No memorial service is planned at this time. William D. ‘Bill’ Britt joined our Lord suddenly on August 2, 2019.  Born in Newfane May 25, 1937 to the late Thomas and Frances (nee Boudin) Britt.  He was a graduate of Newfane High School excelling in basketball.  Bill enjoyed sports and vintage Cadillac cars.  He was employed for 24 years with Simmons Saw & Steel.  Bill was a member of All Saints Parish and enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, and morning coffee with friends at Tim Hortons.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane (nee Burlinghoff), his siblings  Marcia Porter, Mary (John) Forsyth, Franklin (Lucille) Britt, his brother-in-law of Robert K. Anderson, his nephews Thomas J. Forsyth and David R. Forsyth, and his great nephews William L. Reabold and Jared J. Forsyth.
Bill is survived by his sister Elizabeth Anderson of Lockport; also several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Ann Woodworth announces her passing from cancer on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at the age of 59 years. Born September 29, 1958 in Medina, she was the daughter of Rosemary (Britt) Woodworth and the late Clare Woodworth, and sister to Michael, Daniel and Shannon. Rose will be affectionately remembered by nieces, Jessica, Heather and Cooper, and nephews, Hamilton and Pierce.
Rose mutually adored her great-nieces and nephew, and cherished every moment spent with them creating laughter and memories. She was a compassionate and gentle soul to all she met.
Rose will be forever remembered as extremely gifted as a floral designer, and especially enjoyed creating superb arrangements from her favorite local hydrangeas flowers for family and friends. She particularly appreciated the countless Buffalo and Western New York arts and culture experiences, and treasured a ticket collection from the diverse and many arts, culture and concert performances attended throughout her lifetime.
A private ceremony in memory of Rose, according to wishes, was held at Hartland Cemetery in Hartland, NY on August 11, 2018 for immediate family members, with Father Joe Dumphrey of St. John's of Lockport officiating. The family suggests memorial donations in memory of Rose be made to the charity of choice.
