    Michael J. Popowich passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 after a 17-year courageous battle with multiple myeloma in Newark, DE. Mike was born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 14, 1940.

    He graduated from Alfred University and in 1966 earned a Master's Degree in Ceramic Engineering from Clemson University. Mike had a long and successful career working at DuPont. He retired in 2001, giving him more time to devote to his passions, his grandchildren, golf, traveling and fine wine.

    He was predeceased by his parents, William and Anna (Piroski) Popowich; brothers, Stephen and William; sisters, Mary, Estelle Lis and Anne Johnson. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lynn (Adamczyk); sons, Eric (Kristen) of Arlington, VA, David (Amina) and Jeffrey (Laura) of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alexandra, Anna, and Matthew (his best buddy) Popowich whom he loved dearly.

    A special thank you goes out to his close friends who have been so supportive during Mike's final year.

    Martin S. Lis, 70, of Lockport, NY, passed from this life on November 23, 2021.  Born on March 21, 1951 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley and Estelle (Popowich) Lis.   On October 12, 1974, Marty married Jo Ellen Bassage.

    Marty attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1969 and earned his bachelors degree from RIT.  He retired on October 31, 2021 from the United States Government, where he was employed in the human resource department.  Marty was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church.  He was an avid reader and an advocate for animal rescues.  Marty enjoyed fishing, history and spending time with his cats. 

    In addition to his beloved wife of over 47 years, Marty is survived by children, Jeremy (Jennifer) Lis and Suzanne (Timothy Stonebraker) Lis; grandchildren, Ella and Emma; siblings, Joseph (Sandie) Lis and Richard (Jan) Lis and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Frank Lis.

    The family will be present on Saturday, November 27th from 1-4 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where Marty’s funeral service and life celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to an animal charity of one's choice.  Professional arrangements are under the care of the Goodlander family.  Share condolences and view his tribute video at GOODLANDERCARES.com
