    OBITUARY

    Melvin James “Jim” Etue, 80, of Sanborn, NY, passed peacefully on November 3, 2021 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, following a brief illness.  
    Born May 13, 1941 in Sacramento, California to the late Neilan Joseph and Eleanor [Woods] Etue.
    He went to high school at Concordia College in Oakland, CA and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in Seward, NE in 1963.  After graduation, he was assigned to be a teacher at St. Andrew Lutheran School where he taught for two years.  During this time, he met his wife, Patricia whom he married in 1964.  
    Jim retired as a teacher from Starpoint Central School after 33 years where he taught intermediate grades.  He was a volunteer fireman and treasurer/financial secretary at Pekin Fire Co. where he joined in 1964.  A former boy scout leader and member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday school for many years.  During summer breaks from teaching, you could find Jim delivering milk for Hoovers Dairy.  
    Jim was an avid golfer and after retirement you could find him golfing daily.  He loved crossword puzzles, folk music, his many pets and never missed an episode of Jeopardy.  But most of all he loved spending time with his family and being a Papa to Livi and Colin.  
    Survived by wife of 57 years, Patricia [Broeker] Etue, dear father to Douglas James (Marcy Lombardo) Etue and Nicole J (Brian) Scavone, three grandchildren Madison Hasley, Liviana and Colin James Scavone, a sister-in-law Susan (Kevin) Guenther, several nieces and one nephew.
    He was the father of the late Christopher Jon Etue.  
    Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Monday at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road SANBORN, NY, where services will be held Tuesday at 11AM.

    Douglas J. Etue, of Ransomville, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
    He was born in Lewiston, NY on June 8, 1966, the son of Patricia [Broeker] Etue and the late Melvin "Jim" Etue.
    Doug graduated from Niagara Wheatfield and Orleans-Niagara BOCES as a welder. He was employed with DuPont in Niagara Falls for many years and was a member of the Pekin Fire Company. Doug and his brother Chris were former owners of E-Man Motorsports and involved at Ransomville Speedway Go-Kart classes.
    Doug enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and loved his pups.
    In addition to his mother, he is survived by his longtime companion Marcy Lombardo; his sister Nicole J (Brian) Scavone; loving uncle of Liviana and Colin Scavone; nephew of Susan (Kevin) Guenther; dear friend of Jon and Jill MacSwan and Marcy's sons Christopher, Joey and grandson Leonardo. He was the brother of the late Christopher Etue.
    His family will be present on Friday from 4-7 PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM.
    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the Niagara County SPCA.

    Notes:

    Christopher Jon Etue, 31, of Niagara Falls, NY, died suddenly October 18, 2002, at his home. He was born on November 18, 1970, in Lewiston, NY, the son of M. James and Patricia [ Broeker ] Etue, of Sanborn, NY.

    Christopher attended Niagara Wheatfield High School and was a graduate of BOCES with an auto mechanic degree, in 1989. He had participated in the NWAA wrestling and football programs for several years. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop # 877, for many years. He was a former member of the Pekin Volunteer Fire Company.

    Christopher was the Co-owner of the E-Man Racing, with his brother Douglas J. Etue, of Sanborn, NY. He was an avid snowmobiler and had piloted ultra-lite aircraft, in Olcott, NY.

    Surviving in addition to his parents and brother, are his fiancee Angela Colavecchia, special friend Joshua Colavecchia; a sister Nicole J. Etue, of Sanborn; his maternal grandmother, Frances Broeker-Wiseman, of Niagara Falls; his aunts, Barbara Whitbeck; Susan Guenther; Janet Hellner and Lois Broeker; and cousins.

    The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 TUESDAY.

    Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 am at the St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. R. Peter Voegler, officiating.

    Burial will be in the Mount View Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

    Flowers gratefully declined.

    Should friends desire memorials maybe made for a special fund in Christopher's memory to the Etue Family
