    GRAWE - Rose M. Grawe, 73, of 867 Ohio Ave., North Tonawanda, Sunday (Aug. 31, 1969) in Newfane Intercommunity Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Grawe was a member of Bethesda Revival Temple and wife of the late Benjamin W. Grawe. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James (Louise) Patterson of Belmont, N.Y.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Milford Robinson and Mrs. Edward Schuman, both of Ransomville, and two brothers, Arnold L. Drewes of Lockport and Harry Drewes of Ransomville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Road, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.     WILSON - Beatrice Martha Brawn, age 100, entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Born February 27, 1912 in Wilson, she was a daughter of the late Emil and Mary Katherine (Drewes) Schuman.

    Beatrice was a lifelong resident of Wilson. As a child she attended a one-room school house and worked on the family farm, tending to an egg route and Welch's Grape Vineyards. She married the late Thomas Bates Brawn, Jr. and they opened and managed the Ferguson Tractor Dealership in Wilson. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Ridge; The Altar Guild, and a charter member of the Wilson Conservation Club Auxiliary. Most dear to her heart were her family and friends, always putting others before herself.

    Surviving her are two daughters, Rosemary (William) Smith of Wilson and Renee (James) Reynolds of Lockport; and one son, Larry (Muriel) Brawn of Anderson, SC. She is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Wayne and George Pink.

    Friends may call Saturday, June 30 from 4 to 8 PM at the Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson. Funeral service will be held Sunday, at 2 PM at St Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, North Ridge, Lockport.     NEWFANE — Arnold W. Drewes, Jr., "Arnie", of Cambria, NY, entered into rest Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane, NY. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 29, 1939. Son of the late Arnold and Marge Brawn Drewes. Arnold worked as a heavy equipment operator in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 463 for 38 plus years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and stock car racing.

    Father of Debbi Dee Drewes of Northport, AL. Brother of Pam (David) Erway of Wilson, NY, Linda (Gary) Treichler of Sanborn, NY, and the late Bruddy Drewes. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

    No prior visitation. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials to North Ridge United Methodist Church, 3930 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY would be appreciated by the family.

Born July 13, 1943 in Niagara Fall, NY she was a daughter of the late Thomas B. and Beatrice (Schuman) Brawn. She is a 1961 graduate of Wilson High School and attended Niagara County Community College Then Buffalo Nursing School where she earned her Registered Nursing Degree. Rosemary worked for Newfane Hospital for several years in the Emergency Room and Operating Room she also did home care nursing and was active in 4 H, St. Peter’s Church and the School PTL at Northridge. She met and married William G. Smith September 28, 1973. Rosemary enjoyed camping and fishing at the Sothern tier cottage in West Almond and liked to go out to dinner and car rides with her mother. Surviving are husband William G. Smith of Wilson; son Karl T. Smith of Lewiston; and David Tubridy a great family friend; brother Larry (Muriel) Brawn of Anderson, SC; sister Renee (James) Reynolds of Lockport. Also survived by nieces nephews and cousins. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 Friday in the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home 270 Young Street Wilson. Funeral Services will be Saturday 11 A.M. in St. Peters Lutheran Church Northridge Memorial Contributions to St. Peter’s. Arrangements by Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home.

    Larry Thomas Brawn passed away on July 27, 2019. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 25, 1945, he was the son of Thomas and Beatrice (Schuman) Brawn. He attended Wilson High School, SUNY Morrisville, and Niagara University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree.

    Larry partnered with his father as a local Massey Ferguson dealer. He met his wife Muriel in college and they were married on August 6, 1966. Larry was employed by Occidental Chemical Corporation (Hooker Chemical) as an Accountant and Manager of the railcar fleet. He was a lifetime member of the Wilson Conservation Club, enjoyed fishing in the French River, was an avid hunter, and spent much of his time at the family hunting cabin in the Southern Tier.

    Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Muriel (Faery); daughter Tanya (Joseph) Okoniewski of Ransomville; son Darren Brawn of Keller, Texas; and sister Renee (James) Reynolds. He was known as ‘Papa’ to five grandchildren, Collin (Anderson), Reid, Dalton, Austin, and Emma. He is also survived by one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Rosemary (William) Smith.

    A memorial service will take place at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church (4169 Church Road, Lockport, NY 14094) on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Wilson Conservation Club or a personal contribution to the charity of your choice in Larry’s name.

    LOCKPORT — Brenda Jane (Schuman) Swigert, age 66, entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, September 6, 2012. Born December 29, 1945 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Schuman and Betty Toenniessen Schuman Bojarski.

    Brenda lived and worked on the family farm in Wilson, then married Rudolph DeGee and had two children. In 1981 she married George Swigert and moved to Lakeland, FL in 2000. Brenda was an avid gardener, enjoyed boating and loved taking care of her many pets throughout the years.

    Surviving her are two children, son, Dale (Katrina) DeGee of Wilson, NY and daughter, Lisa (James) Meyers of Wilson, NY. Step-mother of Ronald A. Swigert of Vancover, WA and the late Robert E. Swigert. She is also survived by her siblings, a brother, Gary Schuman of Knoxville, TN and Mary Ellen (Whitney) Barnum of Wilson, NY. Grandmother of Amber and Jennifer Meyers, Kiersten Wilson, Elisabeth Johnson, Makayla Swigert and Tianna Swigert, as well as two great-grandchildren, Audrie and Jaydyn. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

    Friends and family may call at Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc., 2670 Main St., Newfane, TUESDAY from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held WEDNESDAY at 11:00 AM, at Olcott Bible Church, 5601 Lake Road, Burt, NY 14028. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson, NY.     Mary Ellen Barnum, born on October 1, 1950 in Niagara Falls to parents Wayne and Betty (Toenniessen) Schuman. She attended school in Wilson and rode horses. At 22, she met Lynn Barnum and on October 13th 1974 they married. They raised two children, Tera and Nathan.
    Mary Ellen thrived with her horticulture degree and could get anything to grow. In 2006, she graduated from the New York Institute of Massage and was able to peruse her true passion of massage therapy. Mary Ellen loved helping and healing people, working out of her home as well as Journey II Health & Access Physical Therapy. Over the last decade, Mary Ellen and her husband have enjoyed tending to the animals on their farm while taking buggie rides together at night.
    Mary Ellen is loved by the late David Biore (son); her devoted husband, Whitney Lynn; her daughter, Tera Barnum (Jennifer Saarinen) and Nathan (Elizabeth) Barnum; her grandchildren, Levi and Emmitt; brother, Gary Schuman (late Elaine), late Brenda (George) Swigert; sister-in-law, Rebecca (Richard) Tillitson; brother-in-law, Harlos (Pamela) Barnum; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lest we forget many, many friends and family.
