    Charles Joseph Brooks. 70. of 774
    Fifteenth street, retired employe of
    the duPont company, died yesterday
    In Memorial hospital, where he had
    been a patient for six days. A native
    of Schodack Landing. N. Y. he had
    resided here many years and was
    a member of Calvary Bapttst church.
    He Is survived by a son. Harold C.
    Brooks, of this city; three daughters.
    Mrs. Marjorie Bowie, of this city:
    Mrs. Myrna Hosfelt. of Pendleton.
    N. Y.. and Mrs. Doothy Ashby. of
    Lewiston. N Y : two brothers. Burton
    J Brooks, of Fort Edward. N
    Y. and Junius Brooks, of Schodack
    Landing. N Y. and four sisters.
    Mrs. James Hoskins. of Fort Edward.
    N. Y : Miss Mae Brooks, of Castleton.
    N. Y: Mrs. Fred Biggins, of
    Chatham Center. N. Y.. and Mrs
    Carrie Branch, of New York City
    Five grandchildren also survive.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the family home at 3 p m , Saturday,
    with the Rev. George Bontekoe officiating.
    Interment will be made!

    Burton J. Brooks, 80, of 6 Harrison
    St., Fort Edward, died
    Thursday at Glens Falls Hospital.
    He was a member of Fort Ed-
    ward Methodist Church. Mr.
    Brooks is survived by three
    daughters,, Mrs.. J. P. Stearns of
    Bethpage L. I.; Mrs. Daniel J
    NIchols and Mrs.. Guy Ropson,
    both of Fort Edward; one broth-
    er, Julius Brooks of Nassau;
    two sisters,, Mrs. James Hoskins
    of Fort Edward and Mrs. Fred-
    erick Higgins of Chatham Center;
    five grandchildren,, and seven
    great grandchildren.. The fu-
    neral will be hed tomorrow at
    2 p.m. fro the Wright Funeral
    Home, Fort Edward, where Rev.
    Leonard C. Russell will officiate..
    Burial will be n Union Ceme-
    tery, Fort Edward.

    Funeral services for Kermit Brooks
    18 y e a r-oold son of Mr. and Mrs.
    Charles J Brooks, 774 15th street, were
    held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon
    in the family home. The Rev. W. A.
    Stackkhouse of the La Salle Methodist
    Episcopal church conducted the serv-
    ices, assisted by the Rev. W.. C Crofts
    of Pierce Avenue Presbyterian church.
    Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
    Members of the Niagara Falls high
    school senior class, the Y.P.B. En-
    worth league and the Hi-Y club of the
    Falls Y. M.. C. A. in which organiza-
    tions young Brooks was an active mem-
    ber, attended the services The bear-
    ers, who were selected from among the
    membership of those were Howard
    Channing, Harold Mort, Lionel Banks,
    Raymond McIntosh,, Floyd Hall and
    Reid Robinson.

    B r o o k s , who was a joy of student
    at the Niagara Falls High School,
    w a s popular with his associates. He
    was w e l l - k n o w n for his activities at
    t h e F a l l s Y. M C A andwas close-
    ly c o n n e c t e d with the young people's
    c l u b s of the M. E. c h u r c h in LaSalle.
    Besides his parents. Mr and Mrs.
    C h a r l e s J. Brooks, he is survived by
    one brother, Harold C. and three
    s i s t e r s . Myrna, Dorothy and Myrna.

    today as the result of a coll
    i s i on b e t w e e n a car and a
    trailer truck on the Grand
    I s l a n d Express h i g h w a y , near
    W h i t e h a v e n road, last evening.
    Fatally injured in the accident
    were Mrs. Nora Snyder, 45, of 4415
    Lewiston road, and Mrs. Dorothy
    Ashby, 40, of Kline road, Colonial
    Village.
    In the North Tonawanda hospital
    is Mrs. Naomi Donahue, 34, of 4411
    Lewiston road, driver of the car involved
    in the accident.
    Falls Truck Driver Unhurt
    The three women, all riding in the
    Donahue car, were returning from
    Buffalo, where Mrs. Donahue operates
    the s u t l e r Slenderizing salon
    in Hotel Statler, at the time of the
    accident.
    The truck Involved was driven by
    Roy E. Chapman, 43, of 2946 Pierce
    avenue, a driver for the Barrone
    Trucking company, Fredonia. He was
    uninjured.
    Mrs. Ashby died in an ambulance,
    en route to DeGraff hospital, of a
    crushed chest and punctured lung
    and Mrs. Snyder died, shortly after
    being admitted to the hospital, of
    shock, internal injuries and a compound
    fracture of the leg.
    Mrs. Donahue suffered multiple
    contusions, possible internal injuries
    and shock. It was reported at the
    hospital that she had a "poor" night.
    Describes Aecident
    Chapman told Lt. Anselm B.
    Carroll and Deputy Charles Wnsmund.
    of the Erie county sheriff's
    office, who investigated, that the
    Donahue car, traveling north, attempted
    to pass two other cars and
    that apparently, when she saw him
    and was unable to get back into the
    driving lane, Mrs. Donahue swerved
    her car sharply to the left and was
    hit by the truck, traveling south
    on the highway.
    A native of Hamilton. N. B., Mrs.
    Snyder had resided In Niagara Falls
    for the last 30 years. For six years
    before coming to this city she resided
    In Niagara Falls. Ont.
    Surviving are her husband. Paul,
    a son, Paul, Jr.. and a' daughter,
    Norlnne. this city; her mother, Mrs.
    Anne Anderson, Ft. Bennlng, Oa ;
    three brothers, Leonard Anderson,
    St. Catharines, Ont.: Walter, Niagara
    Falls, Ont., and Floyd. Alaska,
    and three sisters. Mrs. Orace Cade.
    Niagara Falls, Ont.. Mrs. Florence
    Harris. Ft. Bennlng. and Mrs.
    Oeorglanna 8tewart. Oil City, Pa.

    A native of this city. Mrs. Ash-
    . by attended public schools here and
    ! graduated from Niagara Falls high
    school.
    She Is survived by her husband.
