  1. 1.  ALTSCHAFER, Harry G was born about 1923 in New York; died on 20 Apr 1951 in Buffalo, Erie County, NY.

    Harry G. Altschater, 27, of 2097
    Bailey Ave., died in Emergency Hospital
    early yesterday of injuries suffered
    in an auto collision shortly before
    2 a. m. at Clinton St. and Cedar
    St. One passenger in his car was
    injured and another escaped unhurt.
    The death marked the 15th traffic
    fatality in Buffalo thus far this year.
    There were 18 traffic deaths during a
    corresponding period in 1950.
    Hospital authorities said the victim
    suffered fractures of the skull, shoulder
    and spine.
    Injured were Stephanie Jacobs, 31,
    of 25 Livingston St., a passenger in
    the Altschafer car, minor bruises, and
    Mrs. Lottie Belle Robinson, 38, of
    654 North Division St., multiple
    bruises and abrasions. She was a
    passenger in an auto operated by her
    husband, Otis, who was not hurt.
    The other passenger in Altschafer's
    car, Ann D'Agostino, 33, of 65 Sidney
    St., also was unhurt.
    A plumber toy trade, Altschafer was
    well known locally, having won the
    1948 and 1949 titles of "Mr. Buffalo"
    for his muscular physique. He was
    married and the father of two sons
    and a daughter.
