    Sarah Addie Bryant Champion

    Funeral for Sarah Addie Bryant Champion, 85, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Cagle and the Rev. Buddy Mitchell officiating.

    Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Champion died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at her home. She was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Newport, Tenn., to Joseph Bryant and Laura Kyker Bryant. She was a Baptist and a Sunday School teacher. She was also a volunteer at a children's clinic.

    Survivors include her husband, Millard Champion; one daughter, Mary Knox of Decatur; one stepson, Billy Joe Champion of Decatur; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

    Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or Save a Life.

School attendance for the oldest 4 Shultz/Shults children (Jim, Roger, Ray and Glenda) overlapped with the 8 years I attended English Creek School. My age was sandwiched between Roger and Ray's.     Ivan Ray Shults, Jr., age 70, of Newport, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Ray and Mary Lee (Bryant) Shults, and brother, Dwayne Shults.

    At the time of his death he was survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Shults, of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Betty Shults, of Richmond, Virginia, Roger and Lillian Shults of Newport, Harry and Betsy Shults of Arthur, TN, Larry and Heather Shults of Newport, Danny Shults of Memphis, TN, Ben and Miranda Shults of Newport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda Mayfield of Cosby, Marsha and Roger Thomas of Cosby, Henrietta and Randy Hefner of Newport; sister-in-law Martha Hicks; brother-in-law George Hicks; his dog Sam; special great-great neice Kaytlyn Thompson of Morristown; also several nieces, nephews, and other special family and friends.
