Sheila McCartney, 55, formerly of Niagara Falls of Bradenton, Florida since 1991, passed away on Thursday October 7, 2010, after a long illness. She was a talented quilter and made beautiful quilts for her family and friends. She loved traveling, especially to Disney World and returning to her childhood home for family reunions. She enjoyed her work and friends at Anna Maria Oyster house and loved animals, especially her golden retriever Bart. She was an avid supporter of Relay for Life. Mrs. Mc Cartney is survived by her beloved husband, Timothy V. McCartney of Bradenton, Florida, brother Thomas G. Bietz and wife Kim H. Schneider of Wanakena, NY, brother John Bietz and partner Michelle Bailey of Niagara Falls, NY, sister Mary Fetter and husband Vince Fetter of Niagara Falls, NY, brother-in-law Terry McCartney and wife JoAnne and mother and father-in-law Ann S. and Vincent A. McCartney, all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and lifelong friend Linda Brode of Niagara Falls, NY, nieces Charlene Mayer-Ryder and husband Steven Ryder of Tonawanda, NY, Terra Henderson and husband Brent of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Angie McCartney of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Amanda McCartney of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Abra Stroup of Niagara Falls, NY , Jessica Bietz of Buffalo, NY, Jasmine Stroup, Mandi Bietz, Danielle Bietz and Sheila Bietz, all of Niagara Falls, NY and nephews Richard Bietz and Yancey Bietz, also of Niagara Falls, NY and several great- nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved mother Dorothy (Bryan) Bietz, father Charles W. Bietz, Sr, brother Charles W. Bietz, Jr. and nephew Cory Bailey and many other family members. Family will be present Friday, October 15, 2010 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 8622 Buffalo Ave, Niagara Falls where services will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Town of Lewiston, If desired, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy, Amherst, NY 14228, American Heart Association, 20 Northpointe Pkwy, Amherst, NY 14228, or any Humane Society.
