    RICHARD BUCHEIT DIED YESTERDAY IN PITTSBURGH

    Richard L. Bucheit, 68, of RD 4 Treasure Lake, died yesterday afternoon in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a short illness. He had moved to Treasure Lake from St. Marys last year.

    He was born November 2, 1915 in St. Marys, son of the late Frank X. and Rinnie Martin Bucheit. He was employed as an accountant for West Penn Power.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Rita E. Wilhelm, whom he married February 13, 1943; three daughters, Donna, Mrs. Frank Jones of Norristown; Kathy, Mrs. Charles Ritter of Bend, Ore.; Ann, Mrs. Thomas Marshall of Wexford; two sons, Frederick C. of Peach Creek, Richard A. at home and six grandchildren.

    Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Clara Horchen of St. Marys; three brothers, John of Mt. Jewett; Andrew of Kane; and Walter Bucheit of Lorraine, Ohio.

    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Bernard, Louis and Leon.

    Mr. Bucheit was Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was a member of the St. Marys American Legion.

    Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Michael's Church, DuBois. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery here.

    Friends may call at the James H. Luther Funeral Home, Inc., DuBois, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

    Andrew C. Bucheit, 84, of 2 Greeves Street, Kane, died Saturday, April 5 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie. He was born August 5, 1918 in St. Marys, son of the late Frank and Renee Martin Bucheit. He married Mary Bonini, who preceded him in death.

    Mr. Bucheit was a member of St. Callistus Church, the Carl L. Lippert Knights of Columbus #715 and the Kane Country Club. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Marines and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
    Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed by Quaker State Refinery.

    He is survived by two sons, Frank Bucheit of Kane and Michael Bucheit of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Christine Paup of Wilmington, NC; a half sister, Clare "Babe" Horchen of St. Marys; five grandchildren;
    11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three nephews.

    A Mass of Christian Burial for Andrew C. Bucheit will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Callistus Church with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc., where a vigil service will be held at 8:45 p.m.

    LEON BUCHEIT DIED TUESDAY IN ERIE HOSPITAL

    Funeral Mass on Friday Morning For St. Marys Native

    Leon R. Bucheit, 60, of 57 Curtzie Drive, Fairview, Pa., died Tuesday in the Erie Veterans Medical Center.

    He was born May 20, 1920, in St. Marys, son of the late Frank and Rinnie Martin Bucheit. He lived in Erie for many years and Fairview the past three years. He was a self-employed truck broker.

    Surviving are: his wife, the former Helen Wilhelm; two daughters, Renee, Mrs. Howard Stolz of Erie; Carol Bucheit of Fairview; two sons: Eric of Salt Lake City, Utah; Leon, Jr. of Erie and seven grandchildren.

    Also surviving are two sisters: Clara, Mrs. Paul Horchen and Charlotte, Mrs. Carl Vollmer, both of St. Marys; four brothers: Richard of St. Marys, John of Mt. Jewett, Andrew of Kane and Walter of Lorraine, Ohio.

    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and Bernard.

    Mr. Bucheit was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre, and a member of the Erie Elks.

    Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 o'clock in Holy Cross Church, Fairview, with interment to follow in Fairview

    MILITARY RITES WEDNESDAY FOR BERNARD BUCHEIT

    Accident Victim, Veteran of WW II, Korean Conflict

    Full military rites will be accorded Bernard Bucheit in conjunction with 10 o'clock requiem mass Wednesday morning in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery with St. Marys Burial Detail conducting graveside rites.

    Mr. Bucheit was born in St. Marys on July 24, 1923, son of the late Frank and Rinnie Martin Bucheit. His father passed away on September 24, 1961, and his mother in April, 1925.

    Surviving are six brothers, Louis of Grand Rapids, Mich.; John of Mt. Jewett; Richard of St. Marys; Andrew of Kane; Leon of Erie; and Walter of Lorraine, Ohio.

    Also surviving are a half-sister, Clare, Mrs. Paul Horchen, and a step-sister, Charlotte, Mrs. Carl Vollmer, both of St. Marys.

    The deceased was a member of the American Legion Post 103, C.M.F. and P.F.L. He served in the Air Corps during World War II and the Korean conflict.

    At the time of his death he was employed at Stackpole Carbon Company.
