    He was born July 17, 1927 in Alfred
    to Harry and Florence Fanton Buchholz
    October 26, 1948. in Wert Ger-
    9 many, he married Loni Krinke, who
    died March2l, 1979
    He attended the Hallsport School
    and Wellsville High School and was a
    veteran of World War II, serving with
    the U S Army in the European Theater
    of Operations A 25 year employee of
    Dresser-Rand Corp in Wellsville he
    worked as a machinist, a fireman and a
    timekeeper He retired in 1977
    He was a member of the Wellsville
    Moose Lodge #601 and the Morrison
    Hayes Post 702 American Legion in
    Wellsville He was a past president of
    the Allentown Volunteer Fire Depart
    ment and a life member of the Allegany
    County Fireman's Association
    Surviving in addition to his mothar
    of Hauaport are three sons. Warren A.
    Buchholz. Edmund H Buchholz and
    Neil M. Buchholz. all of Wellsville, 13
    grandchildren; one great-granddaughter;
    seven brothers. Erwin Buchholz of
    Hallsport, Mark Buchholz of Wellsville,
    Earl Buchholz of Wellsville, Richard
    Buchholz of Raw, Pa, Oscar Buchholz
    of North Tonawanda, Virgil Buchholz of
    Castalia. Ohio and Galen Buchholz of
    Wellsville, two sisters, Jane Kernen of
    Lindlay and Joyce Arbogast of
    Wellsville and several nieces and
    nephews
    Ha was predeceased by a brother,
    Leonard (Jim) Buchholz.
    Visitation was held from 2 to 4 and
    7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the J.W. Embeer
    Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville Funeral
    services with military honors
    ware held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the
    funeral home. Ralph Eastlack, executive
    director of the Allegany County
    Youth for Christ, officiated. Burial was
    in Stannarda Cemetery
    Memorial contributions may be
    made to the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance
    Corps.

    U.S. Army 101st Airborne Infantry in Japan

    Earl V. Buchholz a former resident of Wellsville, NY, passed away on Sunday July 26 at the Sister's Hospital in Buffalo. He was born on April 18, 1931 to Harry Buchholz and Florence Fanton Buchholz. He was married to the former Ella Gilbert and later he married Mary Jane Steven who predeceased him on September 7, 1993.

    Earl was a veteran of the US Army 101st Airborne Infantry serving overseas in Japan. He was a welder for CE Air Preheater and later retired from Joyce Western Pipeline in 1977. Earl was a life member and post holder of the American Legion Post 702 in Wellsville, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2530 of Wellsville and the Eagles Club in Olean.

    Survivors included: a daughter, Kathleen Deming; three sons, Earl Buchholz Jr., William Buchholz and David Buchholz; two step daughters, Patty Ayers and Kathleen Cross; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Kernan and Joyce Arbogast; five brothers, Erwin Buchholz, Mark Buchholz, Oscar Buchholz, Virgil Buchholz and Galen "Pete" Buchholz. Several nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by his parents and by three brothers, Leonard "Jim" Buchholz, Alwin Buchholz and Richard Buchholz.

    He was predeceased by : his brothers, Jim, Alwin, Erwin, Earl, Mark, Richard and Virgil. He is survived by : his wife Dianne Stenzel; his daughters, Corinne Maday (Ralph) of South Carolina, Brigette Grawe (James) of North Tonawanda and Donna Moderacki (Duane) of North Tonawanda; his grandchildren, Adam, James, Jennifer, Jamie, Jozef and Brett; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Addison, Kendal, Carter, Ryan, Ella, Samuel, Brigette, Sophia, Leah and Allie; his siblings, Pete Buchholz (Liz) of Wellsville, Jane Kernan (Archie) of Lindley and Joyce Arbogast (Larry) of Bolivar. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    Burial will take place in the Stannards Cemetery and in lieu of flowers
     memorials in Oscar's name may be made to your local SPCA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26th 2019 at 1:00 PM and from 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home (34 W State St, Wellsville, NY).
