    Frances L. Reed, age 102, of Wilson, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Newfane Rehab and Health Care Center, after a short illness. She was born in Wilson on May 8, 1907, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Minnie Seelow Schraeder. She married Lawrence Reed in Wilson on May 15, 1925, he predeceased her on September 28, 1980. She worked on the family farm and enjoyed crocheting, gardening and her flowers. She is survived by four children, Donna Pettit of Wilson, Elvina Scuik of Niagara Falls, NY, Shirley (Kenneth) Beyer of Lockport and Larry (Diane) Reed of Wilson; one sister, Laura Payne of Lockport and 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Hamilton and Clark, Inc., Funeral Home from 11 - Noon, where funeral services will follow at Noon, with Rev. Jeffrey Durham, officiating.     Laura's Story
    Laura Ruth Payne, age 103, of Lockport, formerly of Hartland, entered into rest on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport surrounded by her loving family. Born August 5, 1912 in Cambria, Laura is the daughter of the late Rudolph and Minnie (Seelow) Schrader.
    Laura married Chester J. Payne on April 24, 1930 in Cambria by Reverend Woodward. Mr. Payne died October 13, 1982.
    Laura greatly enjoyed Bingo and had many lifelong friendships. She liked to crochet and made beautiful gifts for her family and friends. Her memory was vivid and she never failed to remember family events and happenings.
    Surviving Laura are her dear children, Roger (the late Karen) Payne of Appleton, Loretta (Douglas) McCanty of Florida, Joan (John) Thompson of Lockport, Patricia (John) Chambers of Florida, Kathleen (Terry) Payne of Lyndonville, Bruce (Sue) Payne of Gasport, Chester (Nancy) Payne of Middleport and James (Nicole) Payne of Barker and the late Eugene and Evalyn Payne. Sister of the late Jess Schrader, Francis Reed, Esther Reed and Christopher and Sylvia Schrader.
    Also survived by 32 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 10 am until 12 noon. Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 12 noon. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport, NY.

    Elvina J. (Reed) Sciuk, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY Passed away on Monday August 22 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Wilson, NY on January 26 1931, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Frances (Schrader) Reed. On February 14 1981, Elvina married Frank J Sciuk who predeceased her on June 6, 2006.Elvina attended Wilson High School and later Graduated from Kelly Business Institute. She enjoyed Bingo, Gardening, her pets, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.


    Survivors include siblings Donna (late Sidney) Pettit and Shirley (Kenneth) Beyer and Larry Reed and former husband Duane Schoelles. She also survived by her children Joel (Michelle) Sciuk, Michael (Georgia) Schoelles, Brenda (late Ronald) Daigler, Debra Manera (David Cuddy), Timothy Schoelles, Sandra (Donald) Leffler, Randall Schoelles, Douglas (Sandra) Schoelles and 20 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.


    Friends may call Thursday, August 25th from 5-9 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 8:30PM with Pastor Lou Perez officiating. Joan married John "J.O." on July 31, 1959 in Lockport, NY. Joan worked as a secretary for Lockport Savings Bank for almost 20 years. Joan enjoyed cooking and canning fresh fruits and vegetables grown by J.O. She loved traveling to see her kids and their families in S.C. and F.L.
    Joan is survived by her two children Tricia (Thompson) Lukanic, and Christopher J. (Katharina) Thompson, granddaughter Hannah Lukanic; sisters Loretta (Doug) McCanty, Patricia (John) Chambers, brothers Chester "Chub" (Nancy) Payne, Bruce (Sue) Payne, Terry (Kathy) Payne, Jim Payne; brother and sister-in-laws William (Dorothy) Thompson and James (Paula) Thompson, several nieces and nephews and a host of lifelong friends. Joan was predeceased by brother and sister-in-laws, Gene (Evelyn) Payne, Roger (Karen "Tootie") Payne, Dawn Payne, David Thompson and Patricia Thompson.
    A graveside memorial service will be at 10:00am June 18 at Hartland Central Cemetery followed by a reception 11:30am – 3:00pm at the Elks Club, 6791 N. Canal Rd.     Roger married Karen "Tootie" Brigham November 11, 1961 at the Gasport Congregational Church. Karen died June 1, 1998. Roger was in the United States Air Force serving from October 1, 1961 until August 24, 1962.
    He enjoyed spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. Roger had a passion for hunting, vintage cars and trucks and loved taking care of his garden.
    Loving father of: Timothy John (Bonnie) Payne, Elizabeth Ann (Kenneth) Copella, Dale Thomas (Ginny) Payne, Andrea Lynne (Joseph) LaForest and Brenda Sue (David) Hartman. Brother of Joan (J.O.) Thompson, Loretta (Doug) McCanty, Patty (John) Chambers, Bruce (Sue) Payne, Terry (Kathy) Payne, Chub (Nancy) Payne, Jim (Nicole) Payne and the late Gene (Evelyn) Payne. Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
