    Mr. Buffone, who had lived in
    Niagara Falls for nearly 44
    years, was a finisher at the
    paper mill and a member of
    the plant's 25-Year Club. He
    retired in 1962. The plant has
    since discontinued operations.
    He was born in Calabria, Italy
    one of 12 children. The family
    emigrated to the United'States
    in 1902 and settled in the mining
    town of Sagamore, Pa. In 1925

    He is survived by his wife,

    ISABEL R. (BUFFONE) HOFFMAN

    Isabel R. Hoffman, 72, of 69th Street died Tuesday (Nov. 16, 1993) in Buffalo General Hospital.

    The former Isabel Buffone was born in Beyer, Pa., on August 16, 1921, the daughter of Pasquale and Clara (Sdao) Buffone.

    She moved to Niagara Falls with her family when she was a child. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1940.

    Mrs. Hoffman was a telephone solicitor for the Leukemia Society for 15 years. In the 1940s she worked for the Carborundum Co. and in the 1970s was a waitress for the Casa Nova Restaurant on Military Road.

    She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

    Survivors include two sons, Norman Hoffman of Sanborn and Jeffrey Hoffman of Auburn, Wash.; a daughter, Marcia Massaro of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Frances Buffone and Margaret Ognibene both of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Frank Buffone and Joseph Buffone both of Niagara Falls; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    She was the sister of the late Mary Figurilli.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Charles Catholic Church, 5604 Lindberg Ave., with prayers at 10 in the M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St.

    Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.

    FRANK J. BUFFONE

    Frank J. Buffone, 85 of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday November 18, 2008 in Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo, NY.

    Born February 26, 1923 in Beyer, PA, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Clara (S'Dao) Buffone.

    Frank moved to Niagara Falls as a young child with his family. He attended 17th and 24th Street Elementary, Gaskill Jr, Trott Vocational High, graduated from Niagara Falls High School and went on to college.

    Frank entered the military service at age 19. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 291st Company ‘C’ of the first Army. He fought and was wounded while establishing a beachhead during the invasion of France on July 11, 1944. Frank was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, a Unit Citation, European Theater Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

    On January 8, 1951, he married June D. (Julian) Buffone in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Buffone predeceased him November 11, 2004.

    Together, they moved to Los Angeles, CA and later Phoenix, AZ, returning to Niagara Falls in late 1952.

    Frank worked as a real estate broker for the former Ferrusi Real Estate Co. and Parisi Real Estate Co. in Niagara Falls. He later went on to work as a self employed tax consultant until his retirement.

    Mr. Buffone was a sports enthusiast who loved baseball and football. He was one of the founding members and past president of the LaSalle Zone 6 Little League in Niagara Falls. He was also an accomplished musician and passionate Frank Sinatra fan. In his early years, he played saxophone and clarinet for several local bands and orchestras alongside renowned guitarist Tommy Tedesco.

    In his leisure time, Frank also enjoyed gardening and tending to his tomato plants. He loved his family especially his grandchildren.

    Mr. Buffone is survived by his six children, Karen Buffone of Niagara Falls, NY, Michael (Darlene) Buffone of Ashburn, VA, Patrick Buffone of Niagara Falls, NY, Philip (Nancy) Buffone of the Town of Niagara, NY, Nancy (Charles) Pitarresi of Niagara Falls, NY and Douglas Buffone of Cheektowaga, NY; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Buffone of Niagara Falls, NY, Margaret (Nash) Ognibene of the Town of Niagara, NY, his brother-in-law Paul Julian of Sanborn, NY; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

    He was also predeceased by two sisters, Isabel Hoffman, Mary Ann (Joseph of Niagara Falls, NY) Figurilli; and one brother, Joseph (Rosalie of Niagara Falls, NY) Buffone.

    Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will begin on Monday, November 24th at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.

    Interment will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery Lewiston, NY with Military Honors.

    JOSEPH F. BUFFONE
    March 9, 1928 - Nov. 5, 2006

    Joseph F. "Buff" Buffone, a retired beer salesman who served in the Marines just after World War II, died Sunday in his home. He was 78.

    Born on March 9, 1928 in Niagara Falls, he was the son of late Pasquale and Clara (Sdao) Buffone.

    On July 25, 1969, he married Rosalie D. (LaBarber) Buffone in Lewiston, New York.

    Mr. Buffone was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools.

    He served in the Marine Corps from January 10, 1946 until his honorable discharge on October 24, 1947.

    Mr. Buffone worked at various factories in Niagara Falls until he became a beer salesman, his career for 38 years. He worked for Iroquois Distributors in Niagara Falls and then became the warehouse manager of Gorge Distributors in Niagara Falls. He retired from Try-It North Distributors in Sanborn in 1990.

    Mr. Buffone was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a member of the Teamsters and Nick's Como Gourmet Club in Niagara Falls.

    In addition to his wife of 37 years, he is survived by two sons, Bruce Campbell of Jacksonville, FL and Mark Campbell of Fairfield, CT; one brother, Frank (late June) Buffone of Niagara Falls, NY; and two sisters, Frances Buffone of Niagara Falls, NY and Margaret (Nash) Ognibene of the Town of Niagara, NY; his brother-in-law, Lawrence (Sarah) LaBarber of Niagara Falls, NY; and two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    He was predeceased by two sisters, Isabel Hoffman, and Mary Ann (Joseph of Niagara Falls, NY) Figurilli.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Ave.

    Entombment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY with Military Honors.

Frances is survived by her sister Margaret (late Ignazio) Ognibene; her beloved niece and caregiver, Catherine (Douglas) Potter; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Isabel Hoffman, Mary Ann Figurilli, Frank Buffone, and Joseph Buffone.
    There will be no prior visitation. Frances’ Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 5 at 10:00 AM, in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children or Wounded Warrior’s Foundation.

    NIAGARA FALLS — Daniel J. Figurilli, 50, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Anne (Buffone) Figurilli.

    Daniel, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School in 1981. He later attended Erie County Community College in Buffalo, NY, and earned a bachelor's degree in 1985. He was a long-time business owner in Niagara Falls, NY. Dan was a member of an online Astrology Club and a Star Trek fan club member. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening and had a keen interest in outer space. Daniel was also a fan of drag racing, as well as being an avid sports fan, especially of hockey.

    Daniel is survived by his fiance, Lisa Baker of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister, Noreen A. (Ray Olivate) Noller of West Seneca, NY; one brother, Gary J. Figurilli of Niagara Falls, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22nd at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
