    Assunta “Sue” (Destino) Salimbene, 84, of Lewiston, NY passed away on July 19, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Guiliano) Destino.

    Assunta attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. On October 3, 1964 she married Frank J. Salimbene at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Salimbene predeceased her on August 26, 1999. She was employed by John Hancock Insurance Agency in Niagara Falls as an assistant office supervisor and retired on July 1, 1987 after twenty eight years of service. Following her retirement she worked at Wakes Men Store in Niagara Falls until the store’s closing. In 1983 she and her husband moved to Lewiston where she currently resided. Assunta was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter’s parish in Lewiston. She enjoyed attending luncheons with her friends and former neighbors, reading and completing puzzles. Assunta also liked to bake and was especially known for her oatmeal cookies.

    Assunta is survived by her sister, Rose (late Anthony) Figurilli of Niagara Falls, NY and many loving nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by six brothers Patsy (Betty of North Carolina) Destino, Alex (late Anne) Destino, Nunzio (Margaret of Lewiston, NY) Destino, James (late Carmella) Destino, Louis (Maryann of Lewiston, NY) Destino and Joseph (Michelina of California) Destino and three sisters Katherine (late Sebastian) Grizanti, Antoinette (late Salvatore) Rizzo and Mary (late Thomas) Mastromatteo.

    Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.     Rose L. Figurilli, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Elderwood Health Care Facility in Wheatfield, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Giuliano) Destino.
    Rose was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from Trott Vocational High School.  On June 29, 1946, she married Anthony L. Figurilli at St. Joseph Church.  Mr. Figurilli predeceased her on July 7, 1999.  Rose was employed by Hooker Chemical Corporation as a secretary in the mid 1940’s.  She was a member of the St. Joseph Church Senior Society.  Rose’s hobbies included cooking, baking and gardening.  Most of all, Rose centered her life around her family, and cherished the time spent together.
    Rose is survived by her children, Anthony J. (Sundy) Figurilli, Gerald J. (Debra) Figurilli, and Robert P. Figurilli; several grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Susan (late Frank) Salimbene, Katherine (late Sebastian) Grizanti, Alex (late Anne) Destino, Nunzio (Margaret) Destino, James (Carmella) Destino, Mary (late Tom) Mastromatteo, Patsy (Betty) Destino, Antoinette (late Salvatore) Rizzo, Louis (Maryann) Destino, and Joseph (Michelina ‘Mickey’) Destino.
     Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.  Rose’s Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. at in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Everyone please assemble at church.     Patrick Destino 50, of Phoenix, AZ formerly of Lewiston, NY died suddenly Monday April 22nd, 2019  in the Paradise Valley Hospital  Phoenix, AZ.
     
    Born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 28, 1968 he was the son of  Betty Lou (Weis) Destino and the late Patsy E. Destino. Patrick graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1987.
    He was a Machinist, employed by Honeywell. Inc. Patrick was a dedicated and loving father to his daughters.
     
    Surviving is his mother Betty Lou of Mars Hill, NC; his daughters Christina Destino of Phoenix, AZ and Jenna Destino of Niagara Falls, NY; his brothers Louis (Deborah) Destino of Zachary, LA and Thomas (Charlotte) Destino of Weaverville, NC, also several nieces and nephews.
     
    Family and friends will be received on FRIDAY (May 3)  from 3-7 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston, NY.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on SATURDAY (MAY 4) at 1:00 PM in St. Peter's RC Church, 600 Center St., Lewiston, NY.
    Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

    Robert “Figgy” Figurilli, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2022, at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Anthony and Rose (Destino) Figurilli.
    Robert attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. For over 25 years, he worked as a car salesman, and also owned and operated Figgy’s Town Restaurant for many years.
    Figgy was a happy-go-lucky man, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially during the holidays.
    He will be deeply missed by his wife, Wendy Figurilli; his step-children, Stephanie Galie, Tyler Cutajar, Joseph Cutajar; his grandchildren, Ava Boshane, Ginny Cutajar, Ryatt Tormino and Evelyn Tormino; his brothers, Anthony (Assunta) Figurilli, Gerald (Deborah) Figurilli, his special cousins, Louis P. (Alice) Destino and Joanne (Dr. Philip) Leta, his beloved dogs, Vida and Churi; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, two aunts, and numerous friends.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Niagara Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion given to Robert during his period of illness. 
    Visitation will be on Thursday, March 31 from 10 – 11 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Parish in Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where Robert’s Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Arrangements by M.J.
