    Notes:

    It is with heavy hearts, that we the family of Shirley Joan (Folland) Duke, 84, announce her passing on Saturday December 23, 2017 in Schoellkopf Health Center, surrounded by her loving family.

    She was born in Niagara Falls on August 12, 1933, a daughter of the late Josiah W. and Alberta M. (McInnis) Folland. She grew up in Niagara Falls and spent summers on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School and Bryant and Stratton College.

    She worked for Bell Aerospace as a statistician, where she met the love of her life and future husband of 62 years, Edmund Duke. After her marriage, she became a homemaker and caregiver to her family. Shirley was a sweet and caring woman. 
    Shirley had a passion for music. She played the piano beautifully and was blessed with an angelic voice. She sang in the church choir for over 50 years. She was a lifelong member of St. James United Methodist Church. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener.
    She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Edmund C. Duke and daughters, Linda (Jerry Routhier) Duke, JoAnn (Terry) Manning, Terry (Paul) Bolea and Patty (Chet Andrzejczyk) Clark. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Lindsey (Cameron Roundtree) Manning, Taylor (Samir) Saadoune, Terry (Racheal Healey) Manning II,  Matthew Manning, Natalie (Joe Mundier) Manning, Corinne (David) Tighe, Matthew (Allina LaMorticella) Bolea, Courtney (Joe Brounscheidel) Clark and Brianne (Ian Schultz) Clark, her great-granddaughter Madison Joyce, her sisters-in-law Nancy (Richard) Schaffer and Rita (late Carey) Duke and several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue Today (Wednesday) after 3 PM until 7 PM. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 11:30 AM in St. James Methodist Church, 4661 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, New York 14304. Burial will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston.

    Shirley married DUKE, Edmund C in 1955. Edmund (son of DUKE, John A and BARTON, Erma) was born about 1931 in LaGrange, GA; died on 28 Feb 2023 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
