  1. 1.  LEVEL, Edith was born on 17 Jan 1917 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; died on 21 Jul 2018 in Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY.

    Notes:

    Edith “Gale” (Level) Lewis, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Our Lady of Peace.  She was 101.  Born in Niagara Falls on January 17, 1917, the daughter of Theodore and Edith (Duthe) Level. 
    As a young woman, she worked for the Carborundum Company.  She also worked for many years at Jenss Department Store on Main Street.  Many will remember Gale for her sharp wit and many unique sayings exhibitory of her beliefs and the power of positive thinking. In her younger years, she enjoyed cross country vacationing with her husband of 67 years, Walter E. Lewis. 
    She is survived by sons, Theodore (Janice) Lewis of Lewiston; Thomas (Laura) Lewis of Westminster, CO; grandchildren, Ted (Tammy) Jackson; Terri (Bill) LaBelle; Tracy Gettman; Debbie (John) Diramio; Adam (Shanna) Cushing and Sarah (Chris) Delein; two special nieces, Lynn (Hank) Chapman and Cassandra (Dallas) Stringer; 15 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren and several nephews. 
    She was predeceased by her husband, Walter, a daughter, Gayle Christine Mawhinney; siblings, Harry and John Level and Helen Cushing and a granddaughter, Stephanie Lewis. 
    As per Gales wishes a private remembrance service will be held at the convenience of the family.  They wish to express their deepest gratitude to the excellent staff at Our Lady of Peace 2 West.  The Lane Funeral Home, Inc, is handling the funeral arrangements.
