Nicholas J. Perry, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late James and Bernice (DeLosh) Perry; and the husband of the late Lois M. (Marshanke) Perry, who he married on July 29, 1950 in Our Lady of Lebanon Church.
Nick was employed by Laborers Local #91 for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 1986. He also served as the President of the Union for 8 years. Nick was a longtime member of the Sergeant at Arms organization and enjoyed exercising at the former YMCA in Niagara Falls. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees, and loved frequenting at OTB. Above all, Mr. Perry centered his life around his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Perry is survived by his children, Sandra Smith, Carol Perry, Patricia Perry and Nicholas (Rhonda) Perry; six grandchildren, Joseph Smith, Andrea Lynn Perry, Gregory Perry, Megan (Matt, NFPD) Illig; Kelsie Perry, Nicole Perry, and was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jamie Smith; as well as two sisters and four brothers. He is also survived by his beloved great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Nicholas’ Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will be held privately in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
