  1. 1.  HOY, E Lois was born on 5 Oct 1928 in Franklinville, Cattaraugus County, NY; died on 5 Jan 2020 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.

    Notes:

    E. Lois Hughes, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 5, 2020. She was 92. Lois was born in Franklinville, NY on October 5, 1928, the daughter of the late W. Percy and Dorothy (Bliton) Hoy.  She was a graduate of Riverside High School.
    A longtime member of Riverside Presbyterian Church, she was active in many of their activity groups.  Lois enjoyed her visits at the Senior Center on Colvin Blvd.  It was there, she had many friends who enjoyed palying a game of cards.  She also enjoyed different games, most espically Dominos on Saturdays with friends, reading and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
    An incredible woman, who loved her children and grandchildren.   Through the years, she and her husband, the late Henry Hughes fostered and loved over 40 children. 
    She is survived by children, Henry B. Hughes IV (Sandra) of North Tonawanda; Joyce Wiepert (Gerald) of Ransomville; Dorothy Jones (Daniel) of Niagara Falls and Donald Hughes of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Henry B. Hughes V (Melissa); Jeffrey Hughes (Carolyn) and Adam Hughes all of North Tonawanda; Gerald Wiepert, Jr. (Deborah) of Hopewell, NY; Christine Stevenson (Robert) of Youngstown, NY; Marlene Kostyrka (Peter)  and Jillian Thompson (Matt) both of NC; Valerie Farbo (Angelo, Jr.) of Lewiston; a brother, William Hoy (late Susan) of Columbus; Gail Wainuskis (late Curt)  of Carson City, NV; George Hoy (Karen) of San Diego, CA; Karen (Carl) Lemons of Vincennes, IN; 20 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Henry B. Hughes in 2000; grandson, Richard “Ricky” Jones; a sister, Joyce Haskins (late Paul); her sisters in law, Dorothy Fees (Edward) and Marjorie Fees (late Gordon). 
    The family will receive friends Friday from 3-7 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls.  Private funeral services will be held Saturday for the immediate family due to Covid 19.  The interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery.  Memorials if desired, may be made to the Riverside Workers or Niagara Hospice, Inc.
