Charles “Chuck” Guagenti, 100, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Michael and Grace (Raimondi) Gugenti.
Chuck was raised in Niagara Falls where he attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Following his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, he began working at the former Vanadium in Niagara Falls. Chuck later retired from the New York Power Authority as an electrician after many years.
Chuck was a member of the I.S.D.A Power City Lodge and the Cristoforo Colombo Society. He enjoyed garage saling, playing poker with his friends, scratching lottery tickets, as well as traveling to Las Vegas. He was also a passionate fan of the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. Above all, Charles loved spending time with his family.
Mr. Guagenti is survived by his step-children, Nelson (Diane) Linza and Marilyn Delahoy; his beloved caregivers: his niece, Joan (Kevin) Howes and his great-nephews, Matthew and Kyle Howes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary (Bevacqua) Guagenti and his second wife, Florence (Linza) Guagenti; and three siblings, Joseph (late Alice) Magenti, Mary (late Carmen) Vitale and Jeanette (late Melvin) Tompkins.
The family wishes to thank Mr. Guagenti’s homecare aide, Danielle for her excellent care and compassion and the staff at FeedMore of WNY.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 28 from 10 – 12 Noon at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon.
