    Age 78, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on July 20, 2022 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  Born on February 3, 1944 in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Michael and Irene (nee Tomaszewski) Kisiel. On July 4, 1966, he married Karen A. Travis.  Don graduated from North Tonawanda High School and earned his associates degree from Niagara University.  He worked for Bell Aircraft Corporation, Roadway Trucking, Occidental Chemical and retired from 3M.  Don was currently employed by Tuscarora Village in the Town of Niagara, where he worked in maintenance. He will be deeply missed by the residents of the village.  Don was a devout Catholic, a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in North Tonawanda and attended St. Jude the Apostle Church in North Tonawanda.  In addition to his beloved wife, Don is survived by children, Nicholas Kisiel and Dawn (Dion) Rickard; cherished granddaughters, Olivia and Marisa and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Michael (Jeane) Kisiel, Jr. and Dennis Kisiel and brother-in-laws, Donald (Linda) Travis, James Travis and Charles 'Chuck' (late Katie) Travis.  The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, from 2-8 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where Don’s funeral service and life celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stuart Buisch officiating.  Friends invited. Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara County SPCA and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Professional arrangements are under the care of the Goodlander family.

    Barbara J. (nee Kisiel) Proefrock, of Town of Wheatfield, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, August 20, 2009 in her 69th year, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was employed with the Niagara-Wheatfield School District for over twenty years. She was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan. Beloved wife of 33 years of Donald E. Proefrock; dearest mother of Kristen (Christopher) Banach of Ransomville, Pamela (Rene') Boudreau of Niagara Falls, NY and James (Melanie) Proefrock of Tonawanda; proud and loving grandmother of Gregory Boudreau and Connor Proefrock; dear sister of Michael Kisiel, Patricia Watson, both of North Tonawanda and the late Virginia Pundt; also survived by her mother-in-law, Edna Proefrock of North Tonawanda; nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will be present to greet relatives and friends on SATURDAY, August 22nd from 6-9 PM and SUNDAY, August 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the SABER FUNERAL HOME, 549 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, (692-0271). Relatives and friends are asked to gather at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on MONDAY, August 24th at 9:30 AM. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery.     NORTH TONAWANDA — Laurie J. (nee Pundt) Mourgas, of North Tonawanda, entered into eternal rest, Friday, October 22, 2010, in her 49th year at Niagara Hospice House, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, Laurie graduated from North Tonawanda High School, Class of 1979. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Buffalo State College in Education in 1983. While Laurie was teaching at Calasanctius School, she received her Master's Degree in Education from Buffalo State College in 1985. She then went to The Elmwood Franklin School, where she taught for over twenty-six years.

    A longtime parishioner of O.L.C. Church, Laurie was one of the founders of the O.L.C. Folk Group that sings at the Sunday 9:30 AM Mass. She was an officer of the N.T.H.S. Soccer Booster Club and was an avid supporter of her sons involvement with the N.T.A.B.R. Association. Laurie enjoyed Civil War history, including Gone With The Wind books and the movie.

    Beloved wife of 23 years to James L. Mourgas; dearest mother of Matthew Mourgas and Adam Mourgas; daughter of the late Arthur and Virginia (nee Kisiel) Pundt; dear sister of Mark (Kym) Pundt of Lancaster, NY, James (Sue) Pundt of Norton, MA and Cathy (Greg) Hutter of Rochester, NY; sister-in-law of Lori (Jerry) Materise, Michael (Becky) Mourgas and Rebecca (Nicholas) Sobczyk; also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
