    Daniel Cushman of Newfane, NY husband of the late Shirley Mae Cushman entered into rest on October 10, 2023. Dan and Shirley were married for 63 years. He was born in Lockport, NY on September 21, 1929, son of the late John E. Cushman and Julia Snell Cushman.
    Father of Aaron (Lee Marie) Cushman, Kathy Richau, Juli Cushman and the late Bradford and Craig Cushman. Twin Brother of the late David Cushman. Grandfather of Jean, Justin, Amanda, Sarah, Shane and Landon. Also survived by several great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
    Dan served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 425 in Barker. He worked at Harrison Radiator in the accounting department. After forty two years, Dan retired. He also was the Newfane United Methodist Church Treasurer for 38 years, retiring in 2022. Dan was a member of the Newfane Lions Club where he served as President in 2007, received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award and recently received a Life Time Achievement Award . He was the Commissioner of the Newfane Recreation Spring Baseball/Softball leagues. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Artic Cat Snowmobile. Every winter, for several years Dan tried to take a trip or two to Old Forge for a few days of sledding.
    Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10am in Newfane United Methodist Church 2699 Main St. Newfane, NY. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Newfane Lions Club or Newfane United Methodist Church.

    Daniel married BALDWIN, Shirley Mae on 15 Sep 1951 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY. Shirley (daughter of BALDWIN, Leon R and KREEGER, Dorothy Louise) was born on 22 Dec 1928 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY; died on 27 Jan 2015 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY.
