  1. 1.  BORGESE, Anthony C M.D. was born about 1940 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; died on 29 Oct 2023 in Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY.

    Notes:

    Anthony C. Borgese, M.D., 83, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on October 29, 2023.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Candelor and Anna Maria (Marra) Borgese.
    Dr. Borgese attended local schools, graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1956 and Niagara University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences in 1960.  He later graduated from the University at Buffalo with his M.D. Degree in 1964.  After graduation, Dr. Borgese began his internship and residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital, where he became Chief Resident in 1967.  Dr. Borgese served as a Major in the United States Army Reserves at the 365th General Hospital from 1965 until his discharge in 1971. In 1968, he accepted a Fellowship in Clinical Cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic.  
    In 1969, he returned to Niagara Falls where he began his own private practice in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, which he operated until 1993.  During his time in private practice, Dr. Borgese served as an attending physician at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, where he also served as the Head of Cardiology Division and the President of the Medical Staff.  He also was an attending physician at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital, a Medical Consultant for Carborundum Corp., and a Cardiac Consultant with the New York State Office of Disability in Buffalo, NY.  Dr. Borgese was a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cariology, and the Royal College of Medicine in London.
    Dr. Borgese was a quiet and gentle man that will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
    Dr. Borgese is survived by his sister, Dr. Alberta A. (late Joseph P.) Micale, his aunts, Connie Borgese and Louise Alaimo, as well as many loyal and loving cousins.
    Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.  Dr. Borgese’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 4 at 10 AM in St. Peter R.C. Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092.  Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
