Beatrice Gill, of Newfane, NY, wife of the late Ray J. Gill, Sr., entered into rest on May 20, 2024. She was born in Akron, NY on September 18, 1939, daughter of the late Martin Rosenberg and Margaret Rosenberg-Cummings.
Bea was known to many as a wonderful cookie baker. She had a love/hate relationship with the Buffalo Sabres.
Mother of Ray Gill, Jr., Robbin (Michael) Allen and Douglas Gill; sister of the late Gorden Rosenberg, Roy Rosenberg, Leslie (Marsha) Cummings, Larry (Diane) Cummings, the late Leon (Carol) Cummings, Janice (Lester) Cummings, the late Milton Cummings, Susan (the late Mike) Ribbeck, and Beverly (Tom) Berndt. She was preceded by her son-in-law Ronald Pollock and her grandson, Ryan Gill.
Beatrice had seven grandsons, the late Ryan Gill, Bryan (Alicia) Pollock, Kyle (Cynthia) Gill, Adam Pollock, Sean (Gabby) Gill, Michael Gill and Gavin Gill. She was a great-grandmother to Anna, Ronald, Samuel and Arya Pollock and Rylee Gill.

Beatrice married GILL, Ray J on 23 May 1959. Ray (son of GILL, LeRoy and HENNINGER, Anna) was born on 27 Aug 1937 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY; died on 24 Dec 2016 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Roy Rosenberg Obituary

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Roy E. Rosenberg, fondly known as “Akron’s Willie Nelson” on June 15, 2024. Born on January 30, 1938, in Clarence, NY to the late Martin and Margaret (Reigle) Rosenberg-Cummings.

Roy was a unique, passionate and steadfast man who cherished his family and friends. His love for nature was evident in his hobbies and interests - an avid hunter and fisherman, Roy once proudly landed a black bear in Maine. His love for the outdoors extended beyond the thrill of the hunt. He was a keen observer of birds and a lover of flowers, capturing the beauty of the world around him through his passion for photography.

Roy served proudly in the United States Army for close to 3 years. He then spent his professional life as a machine operator at Strippit Houdaille bringing the same dedication to his work as he did to his hobbies. He was a member of the NRA, the World Wildlife Fund, and The National Audubon Society, organizations that reflected his deep respect for nature and the rights of individuals. His love for Jazz and Blues music was infectious, and he was known to light up any gathering with his eclectic taste and knowledge of the genres. His love for baseball, NASCAR and fireworks added a dash of thrill and excitement to his otherwise tranquil demeanor.

Loving friend to Janice Rosenberg; beloved father of Rebecca (Donald) Smith, and Kelly (Marc) Schnirel; cherished grandfather of Kelsey and Jacob Smith; dear brother of the late Beatrice (late Ray) Gill, late Gordon Rosenberg, Leslie (Marsha) Cummings, Larry (Diane) Cummings, late Leon (Carol) Cummings, Janice (Lester) Cummings, late Milton Cummings, Susan (late Mike) Ribbeck, Beverly (Tom) Berndt; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
