    John S. McNamara III, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late John McNamara II and the late Martha (Puglisi) McNamara Lauer. 
    John was raised in Niagara Falls, New York and spent his life championing Afghan hounds as an exhibitor at shows internationally where he won best in show. Professionally, John owned multiple dog grooming businesses, most recently retiring his career after working at Bubbles & Barks in Tonawanda, New York. His love for animals was evident as John dedicated his life to caring for and rescuing animals.
    Johns multitude of talents included interior design and garden architecture. John will be greatly remembered for his fun loving spirit, artistic expression, creativity, and full-heart. John was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. 
    John is survived by his son, Joshua Scott; one granddaughter, Anna Grace Scott; his longtime partner, Gary Kieley; his siblings, Debie (Jim) McLaughlin, Steve (Debie) McNamara, Margaret (Bill) Lapp, Janine (Tony) Nichele; his step-siblings, Marty (Evie) Lauer, Colleen (Mike) Barone, Maureen (Michael) Spacone, Kevin (Jacquie) Lauer, Marybeth Campbell, Timothy Lauer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by his step-father, John P. Lauer, two step-siblings, Jack (Mary Louise) Lauer and David Lauer.
    Private funeral services with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara County SPCA.
