Mrs. Florence B. Wegener,
67, of 3221 Woodland Ave.,
Town of Niagara, died Wednesday
night (July 22, 1964)
In Memorial Hospital after
a year's illness.
She was born in Buffalo and
lived in Niagara Falls for 65
years. She was the widow of
Chester C. Wegener, who was
a machinist for. National- Car
bon Co.
Mrs. Wegener was a mem
ber of Zion Lutheran Church.
Surviving are three sons,
James F., Chester A. and
Claude G. Wegener; and a
daughter Mrs. Harry (Jean)
Westgate, all of this city. Five
grandchildren, a b r o t h e r,
Frank Zlmmer, Cleveland,
and & sister, Anna Hayes, Buffalo;

Funeral services will be
held Saturday at 1 P-m. at
Otto -Redanz Funeral Home.
Rev. Paul R. Swank, pastor of
Zion Lutheran Church, will
officiate. Burial will be in
Oakwood Cemetery.

Erwin N. Wegener, 19, of 1041
Grove avenue, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Chester Wegener, has been reported
killed In action with the
United States Army Infantry In
France on September 17. A former-
employe of the New York
Central railroad, Private Wegener
entered- the army in December,
1943, leaving for overseas in July,
1944. He completed his basic
training at Camp Upton. N. Y.,
and later trained at Fort Blandlng,
Fla. He was home on a furlough
In June and then returned
to duty at Fort Meade, Md., and
from there went to England and
then to France. Besides his parents,
We is survived by three brothers,
Private-James F . with a
Service Squadron in China, and
Chester and Claude, at home, and
a sister, Mary Jane, at-home.

James ‘Jim’ Wegener, Jr., 76, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Erie County Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late James F. and Edith J. (Hanson) Wegener.
Jim graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from Niagara County Community College. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea as a Military Police Officer until his honorable discharge. For over 35 years, he worked for National Fuel Gas as a Regulator Control Technician until his retirement in 2008. He was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was an avid bowler and golfer. Above all, Jim cherished the time spent with his loving family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Ann M. (Wissler) Wegener, and was predeceased by his first wife, Janelle (Eddy) Wegener. He is also survived by his children, James ‘Jamie’ P. (Janet) Wegener, Janelle (Frank) Dengate, Daniel (Jessica) Pease and Jeanette (Richard) Koch; his grandchildren, Shaun Wegener, Tiffany (David) Mehrlich, Ryleigh Wegener, Rhianne Wegener, Alexander Koch and Molly Dengate; two great-grandchildren, Emerley Pease and Shirley Mehrlich; his siblings, Elaine (Ronald) Fees and Erwin (Cindy) Wegener, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Carl (Carol) Wegener.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 24 from 11:30 – 1:30 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in N.F. Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church. Janelle (daughter of EDDY, Paul James and MACK, Virginia M) was born on 27 May 1948 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; died on 26 Feb 2003 in Buffalo, Erie County, NY; was buried on 1 Mar 2003 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY. Carl H. Wegener, 74, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2023 in Niagara Falls, NY. He was the son of the late James and Edith (Hanson) Wegener.
Carl graduated LaSalle High School before joining the Navy and serving his country for 6 years aboard the submarine USS Robert E. Lee. During his service, he married the love of his life, Carol, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where they first met. The two were married on August 14, 1971 and spent 51 years together as man and wife.
After receiving an honorable discharge in 1974, Carl worked at Electric Boat in Groton, CT and attended Thames Valley Technical School in Norwich, CT. Being naturally good at math and engineering, he went on to work as an Electronics & Relay Technician for the NYS Power Authority for over 30 years. He was very involved in the Zion Lutheran church, as well as being Vice President of Local IBEW 2104 and Membership Secretary and longtime member of the LaSalle Sportsman’s Club.
Carl was a huge fan of the Yankees and the Bills. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, coaching his children’s baseball team, and playing euchre. He was a devoted family man and was known by everyone who knew him as a kind and compassionate man.
Carl is survived by his wife, Carol J. (Henderson) Wegener; his two children, Carl W. and Shauna Wegener; his beloved granddog Ace; his siblings, James (Ann) Wegener, Elaine (Ron) Fees, and Erwin (Cindy) Wegener, Sr; brother-in-law Robert Henderson and sister-in-law Cheryle (late Douglas) Henderson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by parents-in-law, Dugald and Doris Henderson and sister-in-law, Janelle Wegener.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 7, from 2 – 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Niagara Falls Memorial Park with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s memory may be made to Niagara Hospice or Zion Lutheran Church.
