He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church (E. Felton St.) where he was a former elder and treasurer. He had belonged to Deerwood Golf Course and enjoyed golfing. NORTH TONAWANDA Edward A. Wittkopp, 59, of 261 Hinds St., died Saturday (May 13, 1972) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Wallmore (sic-sp). he had lived in this city for the last 37 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Goodfellowship Club. Association of the Blind, and Buttons Shoestring Club. He is survived by his wife, Alvina Ackerman Wittkopp; five daughters Mrs. William (Edna) Kraft. Mrs. Edward Ruth) Voss. and Mrs. Robert (Karen) Clark. Kathy I. and Cindy Lou Wittkopp all of this city; two sons. Donald A. Wittkopp of Wilkes Barre, Pa., and Edward A. Wittkopp of this city; a sister, Mrs. Leonard Baldwin of Savannah. Ga.; two brothers. Clarence Wittkopp of Niagara Falls and Raymond Wittkopp of Tonawanda, and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Roth Funeral Home with the Rev. Cherry Hill - Doris J. DeVantier, age 84, of Cherry Hill passed away after a short illness on December 5, 2017. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Roger DeVantier for 62 years. Doris was born in Niagara Falls, NY the first child of the late Clarence and Esther Wittkopp. Doris and Roger moved to Cherry Hill in 1957. After passionately raising four children (some required more effort than others), she decided to return to school and earned her diploma as a licensed practical nurse. She helped numerous patients in the Delaware Valley. She was a charter member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church where she was active and energetic in the life of the church until her death. Doris enjoyed knitting, sewing, ceramics, choir singing, and travel. Most of all she was devoted to her family. Roger and Doris especially cherished the annual vacations at Sea Isle City, NJ. They educated us about God's most incredible gift - our Family. Her amazingly strong character taught us lessons that are being passed down to multiple generations through her children and grandchildren. Her last few years of life were challenged by numerous physical and emotional heartaches. She faced all of them with a positive attitude, grace, and exceptional strength that are a true inspiration to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband Roger, daughter Joyce White and son Mark DeVantier. Left to cherish her memory include her children Wayne (Pam) DeVantier of Chesapeake, VA, Keith (Betty Jo) DeVantier of Cornelius, NC , daughter in law Vickie DeVantier of Richardson, TX, and son in law Don White of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Nine adoring grandchildren Drew White, Nicole White, Rachel (Joe) Rice, Audra DeVantier, Kristie Jo (Josh) Schutt, Brent (Kendra) DeVantier Jamie Lee (Ryan) Hillary , Laura DeVantier and Ross DeVantier, as well as four great-grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place at St. Michaels Lutheran Church 601 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill, NJ on December 16, 2017 at 11:00 am where the family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:45 am. Bernice M. McLean, 68, of Niagara Falls, NY, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at home. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July, 1937, the daughter of the late Clarence P. and Esther. (Walck) Wittkopp. She attended local schools and worked at Carborundum Company Globar Division, Hyde Park Blvd. as a production worker for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. Bernice enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Karen (John) Edwards of St. Davids, Ontario, Canada; her brother, Kenneth Wittkopp of Florida; and her-sister, Doris (Roger) DeVantier of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; dear friends, Joan Radel, Janice Martel, Rich and Joan Weslowski and Mary Cowling. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert McLean who died July 1, 1990. At Bernice's request there will be no prior visitation. Shari was a long time leader of Weight Watchers and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Shari devoted much of her life to her family. Francis H. Wittkopp, age 64, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Monday, January 30, 2006 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born August 18, 1941 in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Geraldine (nee Tremble) Wittkopp and had been a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. He served in the US Air Force from 1960 until 1964, and was employed at the Durez Division of Oxychem for 30 years, before retiring in 1991. Mr. Wittkopp was a former member of the Double TT Archery Club, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and archer.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon (nee Siegfried) Wittkopp of North Tonawanda; a son, Carl R. Wittkopp of North Tonawanda; a daughter, Colleen (Wally) Smolen of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Timothy and Nicholas Wittkopp, and Zachary and Kaleigh Smolen; his father, Raymond Wittkopp; and a sister, Shari (Edward) Garbus of North Tonawanda. Also surviving are a niece, Amy (Jason) Zwolinski, and two nephews, Michael (Kathy) Garbus and Richard Garbus.

Mark R. DeVantier, age 57 and a resident of Richardson, TX, for 21 years, passed away February 27, 2015. He was born November 12, 1957, in Camden, NJ, to Roger Donald DeVantier and Doris Jane (Wittkopp) DeVantier and was a contract negotiator in the telecommunications industry. Mark was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Plano, where he served on the Staff Parish Relations committee, the finance committee and was a trustee. In his spare time, he loved spending time at the beach, diving, swimming and taking long walks. One of the family’s annual traditions was a vacation at the South Jersey Shore with his parents, wife, daughters, siblings and many nieces and nephews, all who looked forward to this trip. While at home he loved being outdoors, working on projects or just enjoying the beauty of nature. Mark enjoyed all sports, especially golfing and fishing and was an obnoxious Philadelphia Eagles fan. He dearly loved his church, his Sunday school family and all of his family. Mark is survived by his wife: Vicki DeVantier of Richardson, TX; two daughters: Rachel DeVantier of Dallas, TX, and Audra DeVantier of Richardson, TX; two brothers: Wayne DeVantier of Chesapeake, VA, and Keith DeVantier of Westchester, PA; parents: Roger and Doris DeVantier of Cherry Hill, NJ; mother-in-law: Janell Alexander of Rockwall, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister: Joyce White. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at First United Methodist Church of Plano, 3160 E. Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX, 75074, with Pastor Paul Gould officiating. A Night of Remembrance will be held Tuesday evening at the church from 6:00 to 8:00pm. TONAWANDA — Edward W. Wittkopp, age 51, entered into rest on June 22, 2012 at the home of his step-brother and his wife, Dudley and Jennifer Gale of Pavilion, NY. He was living in Virginia until the time of her illness.

He is the son of Edward Wittkopp and the late Betty Jane Gold; father of Mary Ray Martin; grandfather of three; brother of the late Daniel Wittkopp, who passed away four years ago. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

No prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, corner of William and Scott St., in Tonawanda on July 14th at 10 AM. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
