Dies in Florida

Mrs. Marie Scott, a native and
longtime resident of this city who
moved to Miami Springs, Fla.,
about 15 years ago, died today
(Dec. 28, 1955) at her home there
after a long illness/

Mrs. Scott was the daughter of
Mrs. John Pulvino, 469 Fifth St.,
and the late John Pulvino. She
attended St. Mary's School in this
city.

Besides her mother, Mrs. Scott
is survived by her husband, Stiles
Scott Jr; a daughter, Sarah Jean
Scott and a son, John Scott, all of
Miami Springs' two sisters, Miss
Evelyn Pulvino and Mrs. William
C. Thorn, this city; three brothers,
Dr. Thomas J Pulvino, this city;
Russell J. Pulvino, Ridgeway, N.
Y.; and the Rev. Raymond Pul-
vino, C.P., Union City, N.J.

Arrangements for services and
burial are being made at Miami
Springs.

Evelyn Pulvino, of Lakewood, CA, entered eternal rest on January 26, 2008. She was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on November 28, 1918, the youngest daughter of the late John and Josephine (Cacamise) Pulvino. She was a graduate of St. Mary of the Cataract High School. During World War II she worked for Bell Aircraft as an inspector on fighter planes. After the War, she worked for Moore Business Forms for many years. She is survived by brothers, Russell (Gloria) of Palm Coast, FL, John (Josephine) of Lakewood, CA; sister-in law, Rita Pulvino and numerous nephews and nieces; great-nephews and nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Thomas J. Pulvino; sisters, Clara Thorn and Marie Scott. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in her honor at St. Mary of the Cataract Church on February 2, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Condolences may be sent to her nephew, Clifford Thorn at Thorneinside@yahoo.com.

William Clifford Thorn, Jr., 65, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Andover, Ohio on February 8, 2016. Born in Charlotte, NC, he was the loving son of the late William, Sr. and Clara (Pulvino) Thorn.

William moved to the Niagara Falls area with his family as a child and attended the former St. Mary’s of the Cataract School. He was a graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School, where he studied Culinary Arts and began working as a Chef. He also attended Cosmetology school and worked at locally at various studios for many years. William was later employed as a social worker with Niagara Cerebral Palsy. In his leisure time, he enjoyed traveling to Europe and South America.

Mr. Thorn is survived by his brother Wayne Thorn and was predeceased by his sister, Dianne Thorn. He is also survived by his Uncles John and Russel Pulvino; one niece Lisa Harless; cousins Mary Ellen (Richard) Olka, Kelly (Bryan) Brooks, Theresa (Larry) Pinghera and John Scott.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s of the Cataract Church in Niagara Falls at a later date. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, will be held at the convenience of the family.
