Body of Bergholtz Man Borne to Grave by Grandchildren BERGOLTZ, Dec. 27. - Funeral services for John Walck, who died suddenly Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Helena Zimmerman, at Niagara street, were held Tuesday afternoon from the home of Mrs. Zimmerman at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 from St. James church on Rohr Street. The Rev. Otto Bruss officiated.
Mr. Walck is survived by five daughters, Mrs. August D. Mueller, Mrs. Apolonia (sic) Blumreich, of Niagara Falls, Amalia (sic) Pfuhl, of Walmore. and Mrs. Helena Zimmerman and Mrs. Lydia DeVantier, of this village, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The deceased was a retired farmer and had resided in this vicinity all his life. His two sons, John Walck and Christ (sic) Walck, died a number of years ago. Burial was in St. James cemetery. The bearers were all grandchildren: Edward and Arthur Zimmerman, Theodore and Edwin Walck, Edward Mueller and A. Pfuhl.

WOLSCOTTSVILLE, July 10.-The people of this vicinity were shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Hasley (sic), whose funeral took place on Friday from St. Michael's church. [The Frederick Schleef] (sic) officiated. Mrs. Hasley was well known in this vicinity and will he greatly missed by all who knew her. She had been in ill health for some time. She left besides her husband, one son, Ben Hasley (sic), and a large circle of friends.

Mrs. Wilhelmina S. Haseley, 67 years old, of the Lockport road, Sanborn, died suddenly at the home of her daughter Mrs. Fred Farnwald of the Lockport Road, Sanborn. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Haseley family home and at the St. Peters Lutheran Church at 2:30 pm. The Rev. Edward Grabau will conduct the service. Funeral Services for John L. Wendt Tuesday Afternoon.
PEKIN, Sept. 14.-John L. Wendt, 77, prominent Pekin fruit farmer, died yesterday in a Buffalo hospital of pneumonia which developed after an accident at his home. Three weeks ago he fell down a short flight of stairs and fractured his right arm. Mr. Wendt was born December 18, 1853, the son of William and Elizabeth Walck Wendt, in the town of Wheatfield on the farm now occupied by the Niagara Falls airport. As a young man he came to Lockport where he was engaged in the grocery business in Main street for a number of years. Thirty-six years ago Mr. Wendt bought a farm on the Upper Mountain road, near Pekin, where he specialized in fruit growing. He had many customers from Niagara and Erie Counties and was well known. Surviving are one son, Walter J. Wendt of Pekin, and one brother, Albert F. Wendt of Lockport. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cold Springs cemetery, Lockport.

PEKIN, Aug.1.—Alexander Wendt of this village, died at Deaconess hospital, in Buffalo, yesterday morning at 7.20. He underwent a serious operation last Tharsday. The immediate cause of his death was heart failure.

The deceased was 47 years old. besides his wife, Ada Schultz, he Is survived by one daughter, Edna, his mother, Mrs August Wendt. two brothers, Edward and William, all of Pekin.

Pastor Dies At 74 Years
Funeral services were held this afternoon in Alden for Rev. Edward M. Nemeschy of Lancaster who died Thursday (Nov 22, 1962) at home after a long illness. The Rev. Mr. Nemeschy was the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Edward Nemeschy of Niagara Falls. The elder Nemeschy was a former pastor of St Paul Lutheran Church here. Two brothers of 'this city are among the Rev. Mr. Nemeschy's survivors. They are John and Benjamin Nemeschy and one sister Lydia Schultz. At the time of his death the Rev Mr. Nemeschy was pastor emeritus of Town Line Lutheran Church in Alden and St. Nicodemus Lutheran Church in Porterville. He resigned as pastor of the Town Line Church in 1956 after 43 years of service. Services today were held in the Town Line Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

NORTH TONAWANDA - Benjamin Charles Nemeschy of North Tonawanda died in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo yesterday (April 19, 1984) after a long illness. He was born in Altmont (sic), and lived most of his life in Niagara Falls. His parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Edward Nemeschy, were the founders of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls. He was the brother of the late John Nemeschy, the Rev. Edward Nemeschy and the Rev. Paul Nemeschy. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Stevenson Nemeschy of North Tonawanda; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Schultz of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m tomorrow at the chapel of Cornell and Daggett Inc., South Avenue at 10th Street, Niagara Falls, with the Rev. DonaId Rehkopf officiating. LEWISTON - Lydia Carolina (Nemeschy) Schultz, 96, of Morgan Drive, died Wednesday (Feb. 8, 1995) at the home of her daughter in Lewiston.
She was born on May 7, 1898, in Altamont, Ill., the daughter of Edward M. and Lydia (Wendt) Nemeschy. She moved to Niagara Falls at the turn of the century when her father assumed the position of pastor at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church at Cleveland Avenue and 18th Street. She was a Lewiston resident for the past 25 years.
Mrs. Schultz was a church organist at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was pleased to serve with her father. She was a lifelong member of the church and a caring homemaker who enjoyed and loved her family, relatives said.
She was the widow of Ernest A. Schultz, who died in 1953. Her husband was in partnership with his brother at the former Schultz Brothers Groceries and Meats.
Mrs. Schultz is survived by a son, the Rev. Edward E. Schultz of Annapolis, Md.; a daughter, Dorothy S. Ford of Lewiston; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John F. Nemeschy, the Rev. Edward M. Nemeschy Jr., the Rev. Paul H. Nemeschy and Benjamin C. Nemeschy. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cornell & Daggett Chapel, 2215 Military Road

Lydia C. Schultz, 96, died Wednesday (Feb. 8, 1995) after a brief illness in the home of her daughter, Dorothy Ford, with whom she lived.
Born Lydia Nemeschy in Altamont, Ill., she moved to Niagara Falls at the turn of the century when her father, the Rev. Edward M. Nemeschy, became pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls.
She lived in Lewiston for the past 25 years.
A lifelong member of St. Paul Church, she served as organist for the congregation while her father was pastor.
Her husband, Ernest A., died in 1953 after many years in partnership with his brother in the former Schultz Bros. Groceries & Meats at 18th Street and Pierce Avenue in Niagara Falls.
In addition to her daughter, survivors include a son, the Rev. Edward E. of Annapolis, Md.; six grandchildren; and 10
great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Church, Cleveland Avenue and 18th Street, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Bergholtz.

Mr. Williams had been president of Williams Bros.vDepartment Store until his retirement about 10 years ago, He was born Sept. 15,v1884, in the town of Wheatfield,vson of the late Ferdinand A. and Lydia Williams. Mrs. Alma Becker, 72, of 1711 Pierce Ave., today was listed as in "critical" condition at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital where she was admitted Wednesday afternoon after apparently suffering a heart attack at a store at Linwood Ave. and 18th St. By coincidence, fire fighters who were called to the scene to render first aid were led by her brother, Capt. Wilbur Haseley. Oxygen was administered for 25 minutes before Mrs. Becker was sent to the hospital in a Frontier ambulance.

Firefighters To Honor Capt. Haseley
Capt. Wilbur Haseley of the Niagara Falls Fire Department will be honored by his fellow workers at a retirement dinner Thursday at the Crown and Anchor Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. Capt. Haseley retired July 1 after more than 41 years with the department. Born in Sanborn in 1899, Capt. Haseley joined the fire department in 1923 and was appointed engineer in 1932. He became a captain in 1956 and has held that position since.
As a member of the department, he has served under eight fire chiefs. His first fire was in 1923 at 11th Street and Buffalo Avenue. Capt. Haseley plans to visit his daughter in New York City and travel throughout the western part of the country. He and his wife live at 2244 Linwood Ave. They have four children and seven grandchildren.

Sanborn Woman Passes in Hospital after Emergency Operation.
SANBORN, N. Y. - Mrs. Minnie Wendt, 51, of the Lockport road near Sanborn, died last night in DeGraff Memorial hospital, North Tonawanda. where she underwent an emergency operation on December 23. She was a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Minnie Haseley, of the Town of Niagara, and resided in the Saunders Settlement road, to her Lockport road home ten years ago. She was a member of St. Peter's German Lutheran church, of Walmore. She is survived by four-sons, Ervin, of North Tonawanda; Relnert, of Niagara Falls, and Arthur and Herbert, of Sanborn; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Cvetan and Miss Minnie Wendt, of Sanborn; two brothers, Anthony and Hubert Haseley, of Niagara Palls, and five sisters, Mrs. Fred Fahrnwald, Mrs. Philip Fahrnwald and Mrs. Albert Kroening, of Sanborn, and Mrs. Carl Mllleville and Mrs. Edwin DeVantier, of Niagara Falls. Ten grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from the family home at 2 p. m. Sunday, with services in St. Peter's church at Walmore at 2:30 p. m., the Rev. Edward A. Grabau officiating. Burial will be in Walmore cemetery.

SANBORN-Mrs. Albert (Lizzie) Kroening, 65, of 3149 Lockport Road, died Thursday, (March 16, l961) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a brief illness.
Born in the Town of Niagara, July 13, 1901, She was a daughter of Ferdinand and Wilhelmina Haseley and had lived in this area, all her life.
She was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a member of the Women of the Church organization.
Mrs. Kroening was the widow of Albert E. Kroening Sr., well known area farmer who died in 1965.
Survivors include three sons, Clarence, Edgar and Albert Kroening Jr., all of Sanborn; three sisters, Mrs. Philip (Emma) Fahrnwald, Sanborn, Mrs. Edwin (Lily) DeVantier, and Mrs. Carl (Viola) Milleville, both of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Anthony Haseley, Lockport, and Hubert Haseley, Niagara Falls, and eight grandchildren.

Viola L. Milleville, 92, died Sunday (Dec. 26, 1999) in Schoellkopf Health Center, Niagara Falls, after a brief illness. She had been a patient there for the past few months.
Born Viola Haseley in the Town of Niagara, she worked for a few years at the Nabisco Shredded Wheat plant in Niagara Falls as a biscuit packer before marrying Carl J. Milleville on Oct. 16, 1927.
They operated a dairy farm, which is still run today by their son and grandsons. Her husband died in 1974.
Mrs. Milleville was a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens and loved to crochet, make quilts and travel.
Survivors include her son, Wilbert; three daughters Elva Walck, Jean St. John and Lois Bush, all of Sanborn; 16 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in St. James Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Rohr Street, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery

Haseley Death Ruled Accidental; Police Don't Know Who Fired Shot
An Allegany County Coroner has ruled the death yesterday of an elderly Niagara Falls man as accidental but state police still do not know who fired the shot which killed 78-year-old Rudolph A. Haseley. The body of Mr. Haseley, who was a machinist, is being returned to Niagara Falls today, and funeral services will be helf Friday.
Survivors of the eight-man hunting party were to return to Niagara Falls today from Centerville in Northern Allegany county. One of the group, John Hollinsworth. 2215 Linwood Avenue was a member of a similar party when Mr. haseley's relative. Myron Haseley. was killed in the same area. Ironically, the accident happened November 25, 1947, just five years ago today. Another member of the party, George W. Piche. 1026 North Mililary road, found Rudolph Haseley. Because the bullet passed completely through the body, state police were unable to determine the size of the slug and are hampered in discovering if a member of the Haseley party or other hunters fired the fatal shot. Dr. H. K. Hardy, Allegany county coroner, said Mr. Haseley died of internal bleeding.
A son Arnold Haseley survives, as do two brothers Fred & Amos Haseley, and two sisters, the Misses Lucy and Rose Blumreich, all of this city. Mr. Haseley retired from the Titanium Alloy division of the National Lead Company after 32 years employment and then worked for Industrial Welding company. He was a native of Walmore, N.Y.
and lived in Niagara Falls 52 years. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Gridley Funeral home and at 2:30 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church with the Rev. Leonhardt Ludwig officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery.

Amos A. Haseley, 83, of 1657 Niagara Ave., a retired Union Carbide Corp. electrician, died today (March 29, 1961) at Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Walmore, Mr. Haseley made his home here for 61 years. He retired from the Union Carbide Corp. in 1951 after 47 years of service with the firm and was employed for seven years by the International Cooperage Co. Mr. Haseley was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a member of St. Paul's Brotherhood, the Golden Age Club, and Niagara Falls Lodge No. 81, IOOF. Survivors include his Widow, Mrs. Louise Haseley, and two sisters, Miss Rose Blumreich and Miss Lucy Blumreich, all of this city. Several nieces and nephew also survive. Farmer Accidentally Falls Into Well and Is Drowned
Adolph Schroeder, Well Known Upper Mountain Road Resident, Believed to Have Been Seized with Dizzy Spell; Straw Hat Leads to Discovery of Body
Believed to have been seized with a dizzy spell, Adolph Schroeder, 54, fell into a well on his farm on the Upper Mountain road, a short distance west of the Baker hill, early yesterday afternoon, and drowned. It was not until several hours later that the fate of the man was learned. The discovery of his straw hat, floating on the surface of the water in the well, led to the location of his body. Following lunch yesterday, several farmhands, employed by Mr. Schroeder, left for the fields on the farm to resume work. Their employer promised to follow as soon as he watered the horses to be used in working the crops. When several hours passed and Mr. Schroeder failed to appear, search was instituted for him. With the location of the body, Coroner J. E. Helwig was summoned. The sheriff's office in Lockport was notified and deputies were detailed to take the body from the well. Mr. Schroeder's watch stopped at 12:45 o'clock, indicating that he fell into the well at that time. Dr. Helwig had the body removed to Pike's mortuary in Sanborn to be prepared for burial. Mr. Schroeder was one of the best known farmers on the Upper Mountain road. He is survived by a daughter, Margaret, at home. Mr. Schroeder lived with a brother, John, besides his daughter. Others surviving are a brother, Charles, of Byron; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Broker of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Irene Millenthine of Lewiston and his stepmother, Mrs. Paul Schroeder of Niagara Falls.

She was the wife of Calvin Ogden of Stuyvesant; mother of Mildred Logan of the Town of Niagara, Mrs. Irene Miller of Tonawanda, Mrs. Gladys Daunce of Niagara Falls, Robert Mellenthien of North Tonawanda; sister of John Schreader of Lockport, Charles Schreader of Elba, Rudolph Schreader of Batavia, Rose Aderman of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Ida Krull of Niagara Falls. Retired Area Farmer Dies
Sanborn-William F. Lange, 77, a retired farmer, died at his home, Walmore Rd., Town of Wheatfield, today (March 18, 1960).
Born in Wheatfield Sept. 4, 1882, the son of Frederick and Ida Haseley Lange, he had resided in this vicinity all his life.
Mr. Lange owned and operated his Walmore Rd. farm for more than 40 years, retiring about 15 years ago due to ill health. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Walck Lange; two sons, William G. and Norbert G. Lange, both of Sanborn; two daughters. Mrs. Norman Moll, Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Elwood Krull, Sanborn; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Murr, Niagara Falls; also 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home and at 2:30 at St. Peter's Church, the Rev. Donald G. Rehkopf officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
