2. | SCHULTZ, Bruno Gustav Arnold (1.Heinrich1) was born on 20 Dec 1914 in Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY; died on 14 Jul 2009 in Freeland, Island County, WA. Notes:
Bruno G Schultz was born December 20, 1914, to Ida Mante Schultz and Henry Schultz in Wheatfield, NY. He passed away peacefully on July 14, 2009. He had been able to live in his own home in Freeland until the last month of his long life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, and his younger brother, Walter. He is survived by his son Mark (Barb) of Freeland and two grandchildren, Melissa in Chicago and Ben and his fiancee, Jen Newland, in Yakima. Bruno grew up on a farm in New York. The early years were difficult but he often shared what food was on the table. In 1937, Bruno met and married Mildred Wurl. She would be his life partner for the next 68 years. In 1950, Bruno moved his family to Tucson, Arizona. For the next 35 years he and Mildred raised their son, served the church and their community. He and Millie were charter members of Faith Lutheran Church, Tucson, where he also sang in the choir and was an Elder for many years. During that period, he served with pride as a volunteer officer in the Arizona Highway Patrol Reserves. They moved to Freeland in 1986, to be near their son and two grandchildren. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, singing in the choir, helping where he could in the building of the church and also folding the weekly bulletins for many years. Bruno held close the friendships he had while attending the Trinity Lutheran Church Thursday morning Bible Study. In his final years, he cherished this group and was happy that he could continue to worship at Trinity. Bruno's family wishes to thank Pastor Jim Lindus and Pastor Dennis Hanson for their comforting support. We also wish to thank Island Home Nursing and Sandra Taylor, Your Home on the Harbor, for all of the wonderful caring that they gave to Bruno at the end of his life. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church at 1:00 on July 31. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be given to the Lutheran Volunteer Corps in care of Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Endowment Fund at TLC, in his name.
Bruno married WURL, Mildred A on 28 Aug 1937 in Bergholtz, Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY. Mildred (daughter of WURL, Frederick Johann Hugo and KOLBE, Josephine D) was born on 4 Dec 1916 in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY; died on 19 Sep 2005 in Freeland, Island County, WA.
