Walmore Farmer Called by Death
WALMORE, May 12.-Albert A. Pfuhl, 57 years old, well known farmer, died yesterday at the family home here. Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, standard time, and at 2:30 from St. Peter's Lutheran church, Walmore. Interment will be in Walmore cemetery. Mr. Pfuhl was born on a farm within a half mile of the place where he died and had resided here all his life. He is survived by his wife, Ida Pfuhl; two sons, Albert, Jr.. at home, and Martin, of Niagara Falls; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Wienke, of Sanborn; three brothers, Ferdinand, John and Anton; and three sisters, Mrs. Carl Haseley, Mrs. William Devantire (sic) and Mrs. Anna Kroenig (sic), all of this vicinity.

PFUHL RITES HELD
Lockport Road Man Laid to His Final Rest in Walmore Cemetery.
SANBORN, May 16-Funeral services for Albert A. Pfuhl, aged 57, who died at his home on the Lockport Road on May 11, were held from the home on Sunday at 2 P. M. and from St. Peter's church at 2:30. The bearers were Erich J. Haseley. William DeVantier, Elmer Kroening, William Kroening, Jr., Sigmund Pfuhl, Herbert Pfuhl. Flower bearers were: Erwin Pfuhl Max Pfuhl, Max Haseley, Erwin Walck, Herbert Jagow, Herbert Ferchen, Alfred Haseley, Rudolph Walck, Chester Haseley. Service was conducted by Rev. Edward A. Graubau (sic) and Rev. Alfred Walck, of St. Paul, MN Burial was at Walmore cemetery.

Martin F. Pfohl, 88, a retired employee of the former Dobbie Foundry, died Wednesday (Dec. 30, 1992) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston.
Born in Sanborn, Pfohl worked at the foundry in Niagara Falls for 43 years, retiring in 1966.
On Feb. 9, he and his wife, the former Viola E. Walck of
Fairchild Manor in Lewiston, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
He was a member of St. Paul Calvary Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where he was once an elder. He lived on Saunders Settlement Road.
Besides his wife, Pfohl is survived by two sons, Melvin of Niagara Falls and Delbert; two daughters, Marilyn Cornelius of Wellsville and Lorraine Steingasser; a sister, Edna Wienke; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield

Sanborn native was former church elder
SANBORN - Martin F. Pfohl, _ 88, of Saunders Settlement Road died Wednesday (Dec. 30, 1992) at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston.
The native of Sanborn was born on Feb. 20, 1904, to Albert and Ida (Haseley) Pfohl. He worked at the former Dobbie Foundry in Niagara Falls for 43 years. He retired in 1966.
Pfohl was a member of St. Paul Calvary Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where he was once an elder of the church. On Feb. 9, 1992 he and his wife, Viola E. Walck Pfohl of Fairchild Manor, Lewiston celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Melvin Pfohl of Niagara Falls and Delbert Pfohl of Sanborn; two daughters, Marilyn Cornelius of Wellsville, and Lorraine Steingasser of Sanborn; a sister, Edna Wienke of Sanborn; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Albert Pfuhl. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 P.M. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. The Rev. Herbert R. Maxwell will conduct services at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, Sanborn. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Wheatfield native was active in church
Edna M. (Pfuhl) Wienke, 89. of Heritage Manor of Niagara Falls, formerly of Sanborn, died Saturday (Dec. 2,1995), in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
She was born on Feb. 12,1916, in 'Wheatfield, the daughter of Albert. and Ida (Haseley) ,Pfuhl. On Nov 8, 1929, she married Clarence E. Wienke. He died in January 1979
A lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. In Wheatfield, Mrs. Wienke was, active in the Women of the Church. She was a member of the Sanbornite Senior Citizens and did volunteer work at local nursing homes.
She enjoyed family life.
Mrs. Wienke is survived by two sons, Leonard Wienke of Sanborn and Wilfred Wienke of Morgantown, W.Va.; a daughter, Edele Wurl of Sanborn, seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
She was the sister of the late Albert Pfuhl and Martin Pfuhl.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DuBois Funeral Home 2436 Niagara Road. Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield . Memorials may be made to the church.

The former Edna Pfuhl, 89, died Saturday (Dec. 2, 1995) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
The former Sanborn resident was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Women of the Church.
Her husband, Clarence E., died in 1979.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard of Sanborn and Wilfred of Morgantown, WV; a daughter, Edele Wurl of Sanborn; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

WHEATFIELD - Albert N. Pfuhl 68, of 2134 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 1975) In Memorial Medical Center after a short illness.
He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield and had been employed as a production worker at the Carborundum Co. He had worked for many years on a farm.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Jagow) Pfuhl; a son, Herbert Pfuhl of Webster, N.Y.; a brother, Martin Pfohl of Sanborn; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Edna) Wienke of Sanborn; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Clifford Pfuhl.
Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's E. V. (sic) Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harold L. Baum will officiate. Burial will be In St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home Sanborn, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Monday.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church memorial fund, the family said.

MELVIN H. PFOHL, age 86 of Niagara Falls, NY, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, March 28, 2020 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 16, 1933, son of Martin and Viola Pfohl.
Melvin graduated from Wilson High School in 1951. He served in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He loved his family and was an avid hunter and gardener. Melvin was a very active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, in Sanborn, where he served in various leadership positions over the years.
Melvin is predeceased by his loving wife, Elaine Pfohl, of 60 years. He is survived by his three children, Donna (Robert) Knights of Penfield, NY, Barbara Walck (Mark Lindauer) of Sanborn, NY, and Gary (Karen) Pfohl of Asheboro, NC; four grandchildren, Lindsey Knights (Mark Janzen), Laura Knights (Jake Parker), Megan (Peter) Fendt, and Jenna (Kevin) Hanes, and a future great-granddaughter. Also survived by his three siblings, Marilyn (late Ben) Cornelius, Delbert (Joann) Pfohl, and Lorraine (Larry) Steingasser; and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the current situation, a memorial service will be held at a later time. The family kindly asks in lieu of flowers, any memorials be made in Melvin's name to St. Peter's Church or School. There will be a private interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield, NY. Arrangements have been made through the DuBois Funeral Home.

WELLSVILLE - Marilyn R. Cornelius, 83, of 4192A Bolivar Road, passed away Friday (July 31, 2020) at the Wellsville Manor Care Center, with her family by her side. She was born March 25, 1937, in Niagara Falls, the daughter of the late Martin and Viola Walck Pfohl. On July 9, 1955, in Elm Valley, she married Louis "Ben" Cornelius, who predeceased her Dec. 19, 2018. Throughout her life, Marilyn was employed in several professions, including as a telephone operator for New York Telephone; being a waitress for The Coffee Pot, Long View and Howard's; selling Avon; and working at the Allegany County Jail. However, Marilyn found her calling in nursing. She had been scheduled to be the valedictorian of her senior high school class but instead opted to follow her heart and marry Ben before having the opportunity to graduate. At the age of 45 she began to pursue her dream and career. She obtained her GED and enrolled in the Alfred State College nursing program. She not only had perfect attendance, but earned high grades and the respect of the younger students. They loved her so much, they nominated her their class president. Upon graduating with an associate's degree, Marilyn would work in both Olean General and Jones Memorial hospitals. Marilyn and Ben were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and Marilyn was a member of the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma, aunt, nurse and friend to many. Her work on Earth is done, and she is home with her Lord. Surviving are two sons, Louis "Ben" (Judith) Cornelius and Bradley Cornelius, both of Wellsville; a daughter, Karen Lane of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren, Justin (Kari) Cornelius, Matthew (Diana Gowdy) Cornelius, Brian Lane, Kelly Lane, Joshua Cornelius and Jacob Cornelius; a brother, Delbert (Joanne) Phohl; and a sister, Lorraine (Larry) Steingasser, both of Sanborn; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased, in addition to her parents and husband, by an infant daughter, Sharon; and brother, Melvin. Private services will be held for family to honor her memory and celebrate her life. PHILADELPHIA - Jeffrey-H. Pfuhl, 31, of Philadelphia died at his home Wednesday (Nov. 7, 1990) after an extended illness.
Formerly of Webster, Pfuhl was an architect in Philadelphia and a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his parents, Herbert and Peg Pfuhl of Webster, a brother, Daniel Pfuhl of Webster; and 2 grandmothers, several aunts, great-aunts and' great-uncles in the Niagara Falls area. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. martin Lutheran Church, 813 Bay Road, Webster.
