Gustav N. Pfohl, 88, of Upper Mountain Road and formerly of Saunders Settlement Road, died Wednesday (April 22, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. A native of Wheatfield, Pfohl was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Walmore, where he had served on various committees and as president, elder and trustee. He worked for 10 years at the former Sales Book County, now Moore Business Forms, and then for 32 years as a stationary engineer at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls until he retired in 1974. Pfohl was a member of the Sanbornites Senior Citizens. His wife, Anna Mueller Pfohl, died in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Lawrence of Sanborn and Walter of Pendleton; a brother, Wallace of Wheatfield; a sister, Erna Stenzel of North Tonawanda; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 LAWRENCE P. PFOHL, age 82 of Sanborn, New York, entered into rest unexpectedly on April 11, 2024 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on May 30, 1941; son of the late Gustav and Anna (Mueller) Pfohl. Larry graduated from Trott Vocational High School, and served in the United States Army. He was employed as an electrician at Saint Gobain, in Niagara Falls, for approximately thirty years, retiring in 2007. Larry was a life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he had served as a trustee and elder. He was also a member of the American Legion in Sanborn. Larry enjoyed the outdoors and liked fishing in Lake Ontario and Quebec, Canada, and going deer hunting at his camp in Friendship, New York. Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Gray) Pfohl, whom he married June 17, 1967; two children, Jennifer (William) Baird, and Kevin (Gina) Pfohl; a brother, Walter (Patricia) Pfohl; and five grandchildren, Blair Pfohl, Jack, Lily and Sadie Baird, and Lola Pfohl.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Monday - April 15 from 4-7 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Kurt Jensen, on Tuesday - April 16 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, or school.
