Elsie Jagow, NF Gazette

Sanborn-Elsie H. Jagow, 76, of 6245 Ward Road, died Sunday (Dec. 26, 1965) in Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital after a month's illness. She was the widow of Albert Jagow who died in 1963.
She was born May 12, 1889, in the town of Wheatfield, daughter of Frank and Augusta Walck Retzlaff. In 1910, she was married and the couple operated a farm at the Ward Road address until her husband's death.
Mrs. Jagow was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore and of the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Gertrude) Pfuhl, Niagara Falls; a son, Herbert Jagow, Sanborn; five grandsons and two great-grandsons. Another daughter, Mildred Jagow, died in August of this year.
Services will be held at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home here at 2 P.M., followed by additional rites at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at 2:30, Donald G. Rehkopf officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will be present at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7-9 P.M.
The family said donation to St. Peter's Lutheran Memorial Fund or Lutheran Vespers will be acceptable as tributes.

WHEATFIELD - Gertrude E. Pfuhl, 86, of Wendt Drive, died Thursday (Jan. 9, 1997) at home. She was born July 31, 1910, in Wheatfield, the daughter of Albert and Elsie (Retzlaff) Jagow.
Mrs. Pfuhl retired from housekeeping with the Niagara-Wheatfield School District. She was a lifelong and active member of SI. Peter's Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the Sanbornite Senior Citizens. Mrs. Pfuhl enjoyed gardening, flowers and family life.
She was the widow of Albert N. Pfuhl, who died in 1975. They were married April 22, 1934. She is survived by a son, Herbert C. Pfuhl of Webster; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Clifford Pfuhl, and sister of the late Mildred Jagow and Herbert Jagow. She also was predeceased by a grandson.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. The Rev. Allen Griep will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Entrance Fund at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Gertrude E. Pfuhl, 86, of Wendt Drive, an active church member, died Thursday (Jan. 9, 1997) in her home.
The former Gertrude Jagow was born in Wheatfield and was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church
Mrs. Pfuhl was also a member of the Sanbornite Senior Citizens and enjoyed gardening, flowers and family life.
She retired from the Niagara-Wheatfield School District where she was employed in housekeeping.
Her husband, Albert N., died in 1975.
Survivors include a son, Herbert C. of Webster; and a grandson.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

Miss Jagow Dies at 53
SANBORN-Mildred E. Jagow, 53, of 6245 Ward Road, Sanborn, died Sunday (Aug. 29, 1965) in Niagara Falls following a lengthy illness.
Miss Jagow was born in Sanborn in 1912, the daughter of Mrs. Elsie Jagow and the late Albert Jagow. She made her home at the family residence in Ward Road all of her life.
She was a life-long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, N.Y.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Albert (Gertrude) Pfohl (sic), Niagara Falls; a brother, Herbert Jagow, Sanborn, and five nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pike and Jones Funeral Home, Sanborn, and at 2:30 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore. The Rev. Donald G. Rehkopf will officiate. SANBORN - Herbert A. Jagow, 64, of 6206 Ward Road was pronounced dead on arrival Monday (July 2, 1979) at Mount St. Mary's Hospital after being stricken with an apparent heart attack. He was a lifelong resident of Sanborn, and a life member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore. He was a former member of the church council, serving as elder and trustee. He operated a farm at Ward and Lockport roads until 1960, and was employed by Beecher Brothers prior to becoming a custodian at Niagara-Wheatfield Central School in 1972. He was an exempt member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. and a former member of the Sanborn Fire Co. Band; He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Haseley) Jagow; three sons, James Jagow of Atlanta, Ga., Herbert A. Jagow Jr. of Yuma, Ariz., and Roger Jagow of Wauwatosa, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Pfuhl of this city; and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Church, Walmore, with the Rev. Wayne F. Jagow officiating. Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m. The Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. will hold memorial services at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Evangelical Church, the family said.

PHILADELPHIA - Jeffrey-H. Pfuhl, 31, of Philadelphia died at his home Wednesday (Nov. 7, 1990) after an extended illness.
Formerly of Webster, Pfuhl was an architect in Philadelphia and a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his parents, Herbert and Peg Pfuhl of Webster, a brother, Daniel Pfuhl of Webster; and 2 grandmothers, several aunts, great-aunts and' great-uncles in the Niagara Falls area. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. martin Lutheran Church, 813 Bay Road, Webster.
