    NORTH TONAWANDA, March 24. Mrs. Alma DeVantier, 50 years old, of tho Niagara Falls boulevard, Bergholz, died Thursday afternoon at the DeGraff Memorial Hospital following an operation for appendicitis. She was a life-long resident of the Town of Wheatfield. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and half an hour later at St Martin's Church, Bergholz. Rev. Otto Bruss will -conduct the services and interment will be in St Martin's cemetery. Surviving are her husband, Albert F. DeVantier; five daughters. Miss Irene DeVantier and Mrs. Herbert Stenzel of Bergholz, Mrs. John Voelker of Buffalo, Mrs. "William Kroening of Sanborn and Mrs. Edward Mueller of LaSalle; six sons, Hugo, John and Alfred of Bergholz, Bernard of Niagara Falls and Edward of LaSalle; seven grandchildren; her father, Ferdinand A. Williams of Bergholz; three sisters, Mrs. John Proefrock of Tonawanda. Mrs. Fred Lindke of Medina, and Mrs. Rudolph Milleville of Niagara Falls, and three brothers. John Williams and Ferdinand A.     Funeral services will be held Saturday for Mrs. Helen Stenzel Loge, 72, of 2305 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Wheatfield, who died Thursday (April 20, 1972) in Memorial Medical Center after a one week illness.
    Mrs. Loge operated the Stenzel Motel in Niagara Falls Boulevard until 1963. She is survived by her husband, Fred R. Loge; two sons, Gordon H. Stenzel of Wheatfield and Howard Loge of Lewiston; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Ashley and Mrs. Ruth Seely of Lewiston, and Mrs. Dorothy Stevenson, Weston, Conn.; four brothers, Edward DeVantier of Niagara Falls, John DeVantier of Wheatfield, and Alfred and Harold DeVantier of Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Mueller of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Irma Blank of Sanborn; four grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and 13 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholtz, with the Rev. Robert H. Lehman officiating. Burial will, be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home.

    SANBORN-Mrs. Ella E. Kroening, 64, of 2435 Saunders Settlement Road, died today (Aug. 3, 1966) at her home after a long illness.
    Mrs. Kroening was born Aug. 16, 1901 in the Town of Wheatfield, daughter of Albert and Alma Williams DeVantier. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
    Mrs. Kroening was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
    Mrs. Kroening is survived by her husband, William E. Kroening; a son, Clyde Kroening, Sanborn; two daughters, Miss JoAnn Kroening, at home, and Mrs. Wilbert (Helen) Schimschack, Niagara Falls; five brothers; Edward, Bernard, Harold and John DeVantier, all of Niagara Falls, and Alfred DeVantier, Sanborn; four sisters, Mrs. John Voelker, Buffalo, Mrs. Fred Loge, and Mrs. Edward Mueller, both of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. John Blank, Sanborn; and one grandson, several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-10 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, by Rev. Donald G. Rehkopf, minister of the church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

He was employed by the Niagara Falls Water Department as a maintenance man and retired nine years ago. He is survived by a brother, Alfred A. DeVantier of Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Edna) Mueller of Niagara Falls and Mrs. John (Irma) Blank of Sanborn. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in, the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bergholtz, with the Rev. John H. Crilley officiating. Burial will be at the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no prior visitation.     Irma E. (DeVantier) Blank. 87, of Lockport Road, died Wednesday (April 13, 1994) at her daughter's home.
    A native of Wheatfield, she was born Jan. 28, 1907, the daughter of Albert and Alma (Williams) DeVantier. She was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholz. Mrs. Blank loved quilting, gardening and Bible study class. She was a homemaker most of her life.
    She was the widow of John N. Blank, who died Jan. 19, 1969. Mrs. Blank is survived by a daughter. Dianne Retzlaff of Sanborn; a son, Darrell Blank of Sanborn; a brother, Alfred DeVantier of Sanborn; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was the mother of the late Sandra Blank and was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.
    Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. The Rev. David B. Menz will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday in SI. James Lutheran Church, comer of Rohr Street and Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in SI. James Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.

    Irma E. Blank, 87, of Lockport Road, a lifelong resident of Wheatfield, died Wednesday (April 13, 1994) in the Lockport Road home of her daughter, Dianne Retzlaff.
    The former Irma DeVantier was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholz.
    Mrs. Blank taught Bible study classes and enjoyed quilting and gardening.
    Her husband, John N., died in 1969.
    In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a son, Darrell, and a brother, Alfred DeVantier, both of Sanborn; eight
    grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. James Lutheran Church, Rohr Street and Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery

    A lifelong resident of here, he was elder of St. Jame's (sic) Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of the Planning and Zoning Boards of the town, a member of the St. Johnsburg Fire Company, and a former employe (sic) of the National Grinding Wheel of North Tonawanda, retiring in 1974.

    Alfred A. DeVantier, 89, of Franklin Street, Sanborn, NY, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital.
    He was born in the Town of Wheatfield, November 7, 1913, the son of Albert and Alma [Williams] DeVantier. Mr. DeVantier was graduate of North Tonawanda High School. He was a supervisor for the Carborundum Co. for over 43 years, before retiring in 1978.
    Mr. DeVantier was a life long member of St. James Lutheran Church and an exempt member of St. Johnsburg Fire Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Mr. DeVantier was the husband of the late Martha [Williams] DeVantier, who died in July of 1998.
    He is survived by two sons Rev. Peter A. (Judith) DeVantier of Wellsboro, PA and Fredric B. DeVantier of Sanborn, NY, also survived by four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mr. DeVantier was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.
    The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday.
    Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz, with the Rev. David B. Menz officiating.

    Alfred A.DeVantier, 89, who was a supervisor at Carborundum Co. for more than 43 years, died Tuesday (Nov. 12, 2002) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
    He was born in Wheatfield and was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School.
    DeVantier retired in 1978 from Carborundum.
    He was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church and an exempt member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company. DeVantier enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
    His wife, the former Martha Williams, died in 1998.
    Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Peter A. of Wellsboro, Pa., and Fredric B. of Sanborn; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Bergholz.

    Run down by an automobile on the Niagara Falls boulevard near the Witmer road, town of Wheatfield, shortly after 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon Eugene Donald Stenzel, five years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stenzel, in front of whose residence the accident occurred, died in the DeGraff Memorial hospital half an
    hour later. Dr. John Kinzly, who attended the child, found that he sustained a fractured skull, a broken leg and numerous bruises and contusions.
    Driver Released
    Leo J. Roy of 1925 Tenth street, Niagara Falls, driver of the machine, was released after making a statement to Coroner J. E. Helwig and the state troopers. Dr. Helwig will continue the investigation of the accident today. Roy said he was on his way to
    the Falls and did not see the boy until he dashed into the highway, a short distance away. The Stenzels have their mail box on that side of the boulevard opposite their home. It is thought the child was on his way to the box to get the mail and was oblivious of the approaching machine. Funeral to be Wednesday. Besides his parents a brother, Gordon, survives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and at 2:30 o'clock from the St. James church in Bergholz. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery at St. Johnsburg.

    Helen L. Schimschack, 75, of Bergholz, who was a cook in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, for many years, died Tuesday (May 9, 2000) under Hospice care in her sister's Sanborn home after a long illness.
    Born in Lewiston, the former Helen Kroening was a resident of Bergholz for the past 50 years. She was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, Holy Ghost Ladies Aide, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Wheatfield Senior Citizens.
    In addition, she had been an active member of the Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, serving as an active trustee until recently.
    She enjoyed crafts, needlework and flowers.
    Her husband, Wilbert, died in 1995.
    She is survived by a brother, Clyde Kroening, and a sister, JoAnn Pfohl, both of Sanborn.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, at Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz

    He was a life long resident of the Town of Lewiston, born on April 3, 1930, the son of William and Ella [ DeVantier ] Kroening, where he attended local schools. He had operated the family dairy farm for most of his life, he also was a heavy equipment operator and would work for area contractors.
    He was a member of the Agriculture Stabilization Committee of Niagara County for several years. Clyde was an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire Company and had also served as a Town Constable for the Town of Lewiston for many years.
    He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the former Sanborn Bowling League. Clyde was an avid golfer, and would winter in Florida, during which time he would work at the Disney World Golf Pro Shop, and as a Tee Off starter for the course.
    He was predeceased by his first wife Maurine Bruss Kroening who died in 1986.
    Surviving is his wife of 15 years, Linda G. [ Peck ] Kroening; a daughter, Linda Bonner, of Niagara Falls, Ont.; a son Russell Kroening, of Belham, TX; a sister, JoAnn [ Delbert ] Pfohl, of Sanborn; a nephew, Mark Pfohl. He was the brother of the late Helen Schimschack.
    The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM, Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, with the Rev. Bruce R. Gamache, officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Lutheran Cemetery.
    The Sanborn Fire Co. will conduct memorial services Wednesday at 8 PM, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walck was an accomplished porcelain artist, an officer in the Towpath China Painters Club, and World Organization of China Painters. Pictures of a number of her paintings were published in the organization's publication. Mrs. Walck was a member in the Niagara Women's Club, member of the German Historical Society, Sanborn Area Historical Society, and charter member of Artpark & Company. Audrey's greatest joy was the time spent with her children and grandchildren.     Services for Milton H. Mueller of Sanborn, an industrial arts teacher, were held Wednesday in St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial was in St. James Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Wheatfield.
    Mr. Mueller died Saturday (March 6, 2004) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after suffering a heart attack at home. He was 71.
    He was born in Niagara Falls and attended St. James Lutheran School. He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1950 and from Buffalo State Teachers College in 1954.
    As a college student in the early 1950s, Mr. Mueller worked on the construction of the Niagara Power Project. He served with the Army from 1954 to 1956.
    Mr. Mueller began his teaching career in 1956 in the Lewiston-Porter Central School District. In 1959 he transferred to Niagara-Wheatfield Central School District, where he taught for 31 years before retiring.
    He was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he was an elder. Mr. Mueller and his wife, Fern, traveled to Russia and China as missionaries, distributing Bibles. He was the television cameraman for the Niagara Ministries television program "Digging In," which is shown throughout the United States and Canada.
    He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Fern S. Channell; two sons, Jeffery of Fargo, ND, and Douglas of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Deborah Bennion of Macomb, Mich.; a brother, Myron of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Audry Walck of Sanborn and Marilyn Mueller of New Orleans; and 10 grandchildren

    Myron L. Mueller, age 73, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home to be with our Lord and Savior, on Monday, April 6, 2009 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on January 1, 1936 to the late Edward and Edna (DeVantier) Mueller. He was a lifelong member of St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he held various positions over the years and enjoyed singing in the choir. Myron served in the National Guard and retired as a carpenter superintendent with Scrufari Construction Company, was a 50 year member of the Buffalo Carpenters Union and was project manager, working on the Wheatfield recreation and water department buildings and was very proud of his accomplishments. Myron enjoyed bowling at the Manor II Lanes on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, played bingo, traveled many places along the coast - Maine to the Carolina's, visiting lighthouses, faithfully kept a weather journal and had an A-frame at Rushford Lake, where his family vacationed during the summer months. Hobbies included woodworking, gardening, painting, puzzles, fishing and golfing. Myron especially enjoyed being with his family and watching his grandchildren play baseball, and would have an Easter Egg hunt at his house for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with pizza for lunch.Survivors include his beloved wife, Marlene (Goater) Mueller.
