Sanborn. June 10. - Hanging to a beam in his barn, by a piece of clothesline, the body of William Beutel was found about two o'clock yesterday afternoon by the dead man's youngest son, and when the nearest neighbors - summoned by tho terrified youngster - had arrived, the body was still warm, but all attempts at resuscitation failed. Beutel was about 45 years old and resided with his family, on the Lockport road, near Walmore. He had been confined in the Buffalo State hospital on two different occasions, but since his return home two years ago, his mental condition has appeared normal. Mrs. Beutel and her oldest son were in Niagara Falls when the deed was committed. Deceased is survived by his wife and four sons - Edward, Rudolph, Walter, and Erwin - all of the town of Lewiston; one brother, John Beutel of Cambria, and one sister, Mrs. William Wendt of Sanborn, He was a lifelong resident of this township and was a member of the Walmore Lutheran church.

SANBORN - Edwin W. Beutel, 74, of 2427 Lockport Road, was pronounced dead on arrival today (July 9, 1974) in Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, after an apparent heart attack at home.
He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield, residing at the same address all his life. He had been employed at the Kimberly Clark Corp. as a machine operator where he had worked for over 30 years prior to retiring in 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Beutel; seven sons, the Rev. Eugene Beutel of Neptune, N.J., Allen Beutel of San Diego, Calif., Kenneth Beutel of Sanborn, the Rev. LeRoy Beutel of Baltimore, Md., James Beutel and Edwin Beutel Jr., both of Sanborn, the Rev. Donald Beutel of Lockbourne, OH; three daughters, Mrs. Jarry (Jeannette) Kroening of Sanborn, Mrs. Beatrice Lane of Albany and Mrs. James (Audrey) Tierney of Stow, OH; a brother. Walter Beutel of Wheatfield; 34 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harold L. Baum will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will be present at the Rhoney Funeral Horne. Sanborn, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Vespers or the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church memorial fund, the family said.

Sanborn Man Dies on Trip to Buffalo
Sanborn - Rudolph A. Beutel, 58, of 2381 Lockport Road, a 30-year worker at Kimberly-Clark Corp, Niagara Falls, where he was employed as a machine operator until retiring three years ago, died today(Sept. 28, 1961) after being stricken with a heart attack in Buffalo.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at Edward J. Meyer Memorial Hospital where he was taken by ambulance.
A lifelong resident of this community, where he was born on Feb 20, 1903, Mr. Beutel was a son of the late William and Amelia Retzlaff Beutel. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore.
Surviving are his widow, Louise Mueller Beutel; two sons, Leonard H. Beutel and James Morgan, both of this community; a daughter Mrs. LaVern (Ruth) Haseley, Niagara Falls; three brothers, Edwin, Irwin and Walter Beutel, all of Sanborn and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Pike and Jones Funeral Home, where Rev. Donald G. Rehkopf will conduct services at 2:30 P.M. Sunday and at 3:00 P.M. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. SANBORN-Irwin A. Beutel, 49, of Saunders Settlement Road, died at his home today (Oct. 4, 1961) following a heart attack, Mr. Beutel was born here on June 3, 1912, son of the late William and Amelia Retzlaff Beutel and had lived in this vicinity all his life. He was employed by the Kimberly Clark Corp. in Niagara Falls for 32 years and was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore. Rev. Eugene W. Beutel, 77, of Camp Hill, formerly of Freehold and Neptune, NJ, passed away Monday, April 25, 2005 in Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born July 27, 1927 in Sanborn, NY, he was the son of the late Edwin and Alice Beutel.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as Army Chaplain in Korea from 1953-1955 and a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. He served as a Mission Pastor in Baltimore, MD and Neptune, NJ. While living in Freehold, NJ, he was the Mission and Service Director of the American Lutheran Church in the Northeast Area. He obtained his Doctor of Ministry from Princeton University and went on to serve as Coordinator of Region 8 for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Rev. Beutel is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dolores M. Hanson; three sons, David Beutel and wife, Robin Marek of North Kingston, RI, Paul Beutel and wife, Teena of Newport, PA and Jonathan Beutel of Manasquan, NJ; eight siblings and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, May 2, 2005, in Saint Timothy Lutheran Church, 4200 Market Street, Camp Hill. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Viewing will be held from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, May 1, 2005, in the Neil Funeral Home, 3401 Market Street, Camp Hill and from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Monday, in the church.

Jeanette B. Kroening, 81, of Sanborn, NY, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, April 30, 2010, at her residence, under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Jeanette was born November 1, 1928, in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, the daughter of the late Edwin and Alice (Williams) Beutel. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed flower gardening.
Jeanette is survived by her husband of 63 years, Harry A. BEUTEL, ALLEN E. Ph.D. Allen E. Beutel of La Jolla passed away early the morning of November 25, 2003. He was born in Sanborn, New York on January 21, 1930. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and married Patricia, his wife of 52 years, in 1951. Allen moved his young family to San Diego in 1962 and pursued a career in Information Management within the Aerospace Industry and Federal Government. During his career, Allen served as Special Assistant to the Undersecretary of the Navy for Data Automation and held the position of Executive Director of the Office of Information Resources Management for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. He received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University in 1972 and his Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Southern California in 1976. During his retirement, Allen enjoyed spending more time with his family, attending baseball games, playing golf with friends and continuing his love for teaching as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Redlands in their Master of Arts in Management Program. A Memorial service to celebrate Allen's life will take place at the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, 120 Stevens Avenue, Solana Beach, CA on December 9, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. He was a warm, caring and compassionate man loved and admired by his family and friends. James L. Beutel, age 84 of Wheatfield, was called peacefully to his heavenly home, on January 7, 2021, after a brief illness, at his residence. He is now reunited with his much-loved wife, Pauline (Andrew) Beutel. Jim was born in Wheatfield, NY on September 28, 1936; son of the late Edwin and Alice (Williams) Beutel. He was a life-long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he held various roles. In his youth, he played basketball and track. He graduated from Trott Vocational & Technical High School, and was a past member of Cataract Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. Jim served in the United States Army, worked at Kimberly Clarke and retired from Occidental Chemical Corporation in 2000. He remained socially active in retirement, working at the Maid of the Mist, Lane Funeral Home & Wagner’s Farm Market, where he worked for 69 years. Jim enjoyed playing cards, traveling & attending concerts with his wife, family & friends. He was an avid walker, and could out-walk many! Longtime Sanborn resident Kenneth E. Beutel, a retired tool-and-die machinist, died unexpectedly Friday in his Buffalo home. He was 73.
Born in Wheatfield, Mr. Beutel attended Trott Vocational School in Niagara Falls. A Sanborn resident most of his life, he moved to Buffalo in recent years.
He was employed as a tool-and-die machinist at Bell Aerospace during the 1960s and worked for several other companies over the years, including a stint as a landscaper. He retired in 2001.
Mr. Beutel was a member of the Sanborn Fire Company Band and St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walmore. In Buffalo, he was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and was a volunteer at DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda and Buffalo General Hospital. He also did volunteer work for the St. Vincent de Paul Society and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Doucette of North Tonawanda; a son, Bradley of Baltimore; three sisters, Janette Kroening of Sanborn, Beatrice White of Albany and Audrey Mattrese of Scottsdale, AZ.; four brothers, Edwin and James, both of Sanborn, the Rev. LeRoy of Fredericksburg, Va., and the Rev. Donald of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield

Ruth M. Haseley, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at her home under the care of her family. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on April 25, 1929, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Louise [Mueller] Beutel.

Family was most important to Ruth and, over the years, her love also embraced a large extended family. She will be remembered for her generosity of time and talent and her ability to meet life's challenges with abiding faith, love, and resiliency. Ruth partnered in the family farming business--working in the fields alongside her husband, making meals for the workers, and doing the bookkeeping. She also worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting, cooking, arts/crafts, traveling, and planning events.
She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Ruth was the beloved wife of 62 years to LaVern E. Haseley, loving mother of Jane (Frank) Donato, Bonnie Mehls, Cindy (Timothy) Engleka, Ann (Frank) Testman, Charles Haseley and the late James Haseley, cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Leonard Beutel and late James Morgan.

Leonard H. Beutel, of Sanborn, NY, loving father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, November 19,2014 in Northgate Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on April 25, 1930 the son of the late Rudolph and Louise [Mueller] Beutel.

A lifelong resident of Sanborn, he graduated from LaSalle High School. Leonard served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he married his beloved, Mabel De Vantier in 1954.

Leonard was a milkman for Hoover's Dairy for 41 years, where he was well-known and loved as "Lenny the Milkman", before retiring in 1999. Leonard enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, teaching them German, making them laugh and sharing many stories, always with a smile on his face.

Devoted husband of 47 years to the late Mabel (DeVantier) Beutel, who died on November 15, 2001. Dear father of Larry Beutel, Loren (Annette) Beutel, and Linda (Scott) Hasley, loving grandfather of Benjamin(Sarah), Daniel, Nathan, Bethany, Julia, Collin, Connor and Trevor, great grandfather of Audrey and Bryson. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth (LaVern) Haseley and a sister-in-law, Elaine (Melvin) Pfohl and by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Beutel.

Morgan, age 73, of Ridge Rd., died suddenly on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.James was born January 18, 1935 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, to the late Clyde and Mary Elizabeth (Emery) Morgan and was raised by his foster parents, the late Rudolph and Louise Beutel. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. On December 28, 1957 he married Joan E. (McCarthy) Morgan. Joan predeceased him on September 11, 1999.James first worked for Simon Steel in Lockport. He then worked in the Boiler Dept. at Kimberly Clark for 22 years. He retired as the Lot Service Manager from Alongi Oldsmobile in Niagara Falls where he was employed for five years. James was a member of North Ridge Untied Methodist Church in Cambria; a member of American Legion O. Leo Curtiss Post #830 in Ransomville; a life member of V.F.W. Post #2535 in Lockport; a member and past Commander of the Newfane V.F.W. Post; a member of the Town of Newfane Historical Society; a member of the Newfane Golden Age Club; and a Exempt Member of the Pekin Volunteer Firemen. He made ceramics and collected miniature cars. He enjoyed antiques, gardening, his dog “Dusty”, and playing Santa Claus in the area for many years.He is survived by his children, Dawn Wollaber (Albert Green) of Lockport, Bruce (Guida) Morgan of Shepardson, WV, Timothy (Ellen) Morgan of Wilson, and James (Donna) Morgan of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; two sisters, Shirley Kneeppel of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY and Ruth (LaVerne) Haseley of the Town of Niagara; a brother, Leonard Beutel of Sanborn; his loving companion, Nancy Jacobs and her children, Deborah (Richard) Colaizzi, Michael (Tina) Jacobs, Jeanne Jacobs (Dave Hoffman), and the late Robert Jacobs, Jr.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Gerald W. Beutel, 55, a former employee of Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems in Lockport, died Friday (Aug. 29, 1997) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after being stricken at his home on Upper Mountain Road.
Born in North Tonawanda, he was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School. He had lived in Pekin since 1966
He worked for several years at Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Niagara Falls, then for a year in the Town of Wheatfield's Water Division.
He later was employed by Harrison Radiator, which became Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems, from 1964 until he took a medical retirement in 1992.
He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and Local 686, United Auto Workers. He enjoyed hunting.
Beutel is survived by his wife, the former Linda J. Witkop; a son, Robert; three daughters, Brenda Campbell and Denise Fetterhoff, both of Brandon, Fla., and Sherri Hausler of Lockport; a brother, Wilfred of Wheatfield; a sister, Marilyn Schieferof Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren-

Born in the Town of Wheatfield on May 25, 1945; son of the late Walter and Nora (Walck) Beutel. Wilfred served in the United States Army, during the Viet Nam war. Melvin H. Beutel, 48, of the Delaware Heights Health Care Center, died Friday at the facility after a long illness.
Born in Lockport, he was a former member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walmore for most of his life.
He enjoyed the music of the Beatles and watching football and the news on television. He was special to many of the people who cared for him over the years.
Survivors include his father, Kenneth of Buffalo; a brother, Bradley of Baltimore; and a sister, Vicki Doucette of North Tonawanda.
