ZIEHL – Alice P. (nee Wurl) Ziehl, 80, of North Tonawanda, Saturday (May 9, 1981) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Amherst, N.Y., she had been a resident of North Tonawanda for more than fifty-five years and was the wife of Walter A. Ziehl who died in 1953 and mother of Andrew W. Ziehl who died in 1965.

Mrs. Ziehl was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Frieda) Wehrung, of E. Amherst, N.Y., Mrs. Arthur (Laura) Miles of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Lois E. Ziehm of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Eleanor R. Szeliga of Niagara Falls, N. Y.; two sons, Elton (Dorothy) Ziehl of North Tonawanda and Robert E. Ziehl of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Edna Bush of Sanborn, N.Y. and a brother, Elmer Wurl of North Tonawanda; twenty-four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Morgan and William Sts., Tona., where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. David B. Kaplan. She was born ln the Town of Amherst, but had resided in Wheatfield most of her life. She Is survived by her husband. William Zuch; a son. Allen; her father, William Wurl, two sisters, Mrs. Walter Ziehl and Mrs. Norman Bush, and a brother, Elmer L. Wurl, all of the Tonawandas and vicinity. Eleanor (Ziehl) Szeliga, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. She was born in North Tonawanda on November 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Wurl) Ziehl. She attended and graduated from North Tonawanda High Schools.

Ms. Szeliga was employed as a waitress at several local establishments including Old Greenwalls Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts and the former Country Kitchen. She loved to camp, play bingo and feed the many squirrels that greeted her every day at her door.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Dennis) Weber of Niagara Falls, Anthony Szeliga of Lockport, Larry (Joanne) Szeliga of Niagara Falls, Thomas Szeliga of Niagara Falls, Mary (Andrew) Kisiel of Lewiston; her daughter-in-law, Joanne Szeliga of Oregon; a sister, Lois Ziehm of North Tonawanda; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her dear friend, Adolph DeMartin and children, Martin Szeliga, Marcia Cavagnaro, Chester and Timothy Szeliga; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Bootes.

The family will be present on Saturday from 2-6 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1 PM with Deacon David Slish officiating. Interment will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

Dolly worked as a Culinary Chef for several restaurants in the area. She worked with her son at Kristy’s Kafe on Oliver Street and owned Dolly’s Catering. She also worked at Goerss’s Dairy and made the best Hot Fudge Sundae’s in the world. Dolly was a Foster Mom to three children. She received her Associates Degree at the age of 56 from NCCC and was the only woman in the WNY Chef’s Association.  She also was a Dietitian at St. Francis Hospital working with the Sisters.  Dolly traveled to her favorite state of Hawaii 6 times. She was also a Girl Scout leader at Shady Hollow.  She loved to sew and made several colorful quilts for her family.    Dolly was the world’s best “Grandma Dolly” and enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking up a storm. She enjoyed being the life of the party. She will be missed.

OBITUARY

WILBERT N. BUSH 
After a long and courageous struggle with many complications of Diabetes, Will, a longtime resident of Wheatfield, NY, on November 28, 2020, entered Eternal Life with Our Lord.  He was born in Pendleton, NY, the son of the late Norman and Edna (Wurl) Bush, on December 19, 1940.
Will attended schools in Pendleton and graduated as the first Valedictorian of Starpoint High School, in 1958. He scored the only touchdown in Starpoint's first football season, and over following years, enjoyed pitching in 3 different softball leagues, golfed, and was an avid bowler.
He served for  6 years in the Army National Guard and Reserves.
Will joined St. Martin Lutheran Church as a teenager, and was active in many areas of his church, as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Church Council trustee, an Elder and President,  he chaired and prepared Easter Breakfasts for over 30 years and helped organize the Monthly Free Community Luncheons. He was a 45 year Member of Adams Fire Company and enjoyed playing Santa at Christmas for the Fire Company and for our local meat market. Will served on the committee for the Town's annual picnic for several years.
He was employed at New York Central Railroad, where he began his career in computer technology, then worked at Bell Textron, for 24 years, then at Electronic Data Systems until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Kelly) Bush, his children Timothy, Cindy (Jim) Dolan, Patrick (Becca) Bush and Diandra (Daniel) Ghirsig, seven grandchildren Kaitlyn (Paul) Urban, Preston Dolan, Damen Ghirsig , Delanee Ghirsig, Cierra, Philip and Harold Owen Jr,  one great-granddaughter, Emilia Urban, his sister Dolores Baronich and was the brother-in-law of David Kelly, Kathleen Lundy, Susan Kany, Janet Roth, also  many nieces, nephews and
cousins, many friends, our church family and his classmates from Starpoint.
Will was the father of the late Christopher Mark Bush, brother of the late Shirley (Edward)Stockburger and  their late son Wayne and was the brother-in law of the  late Steve Baronich and Darleen Kelly and uncle to the late Nicole Zuro.
His family will be present on Monday from 4-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Martin Lutheran Church, 322 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY.

Allan W Zuch age 92 was called home to the Lord on Monday May 9, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda and a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Al, as he was known, served in the US Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952 to return home to marry his love, Beverly. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, traveling and supervising bingo at Rescue Fire Co. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Beverly (nee Richert) Zuch. He is survived by daughters Patti (Daniel) Hutchinson of The Colony, TX, Anna (Wayne) Stoner of Loveland, CO and son Garry (Susan) Zuch of North Tonawanda. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and condolences. It is greatly appreciated.
