    Wilhelmina Witkopp, 77 years old, died suddenly last night at her home on the Ward road, town of Wheatfield. Death was attributed to heart disease, with which she had been ailing recently. Mrs. Witkopp's husband, John Witkopp, died in May. Mrs. Witkopp was born in Germany. For the past 56 years she had resided in the town of Wheatfield. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Otto Stoelting of Cambria and Mrs. Christian Hoffmeister of North Tonawanda; two sons, Carl Witkopp of St. Johnsburg and William C. Goerss, of North Tonawanda; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence and half an hour later at the St. John's church, St. Johnsburg. Rev. Walter Thiemecke will conduct the services and interment will be in the St. John's cemetery.

    NORTH TONAWANDA, Aug. 2.-Wilhelmina Witkopp. 77 years old, died suddenly Sunday night at her home on the Ward road, town of Wheatfield. Death was attributed to heart disease, with which she had been ailing recently. Mrs. Witkopp's husband, John Witkopp died In May. Mrs. Witkopp was born in Germany. For the past 56 years, she had resided in the town of Wheatfield.     GOERSS-William C. Goerss, 87, of 266 Wheatfield St., North Tonawanda, died Tuesday (May 31, 1960) in Buffalo, Erie County, NY Mr. Goerss was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. He was the husband of the late Wilhelmina Werth; father of Elmer G. Goerss and Herbert A. Goerss, both of Tonawanda, and Mrs. Benjamin A. (Eleanor) Sprenger of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brother of Charles J. Witkop of North Tonawanda; grandfather of the Rev. William E. Goerss of St. Louis, MO., the Rev. Ronald G. Goerss of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Thomas Snyder of Philadelphia, Pa.; also survived by nine great grandchildren; five nieces, and three nephews. Services will be at 2 P.M. Saturday at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. The Rev. Adolph Moldenhauer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthews Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 P.M. Mr. Goerss was a life member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Laymen's League.

    William Goerss Dies at Age 87
    William C. Goerss, 87, of 266 Wheatfield St., North Tonawanda, active in Niagara County Lutheran circles for many years, died yesterday in Buffalo.
    Mr. Goerss, a salesman who retired three years ago, was one of the oldest members of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. He was a member of the church council for 25 years; a delegate to the Niagara County Church Extension Society since its founding; a member of the Lutheran Service Society, and a member of the Lutheran Layman's League.
    The Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, is in charge of arrangements.

    STOELTING – Mrs. Anna G. Stoelting, 77, of Shawnee Rd., Town of Cambria, died suddenly this morning, Aug. 8, 1953, in her residence after a heart attack. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, she resided in the Town of Cambria for the greater part of her life. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Church, Pekin, N. Y. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alma Jagow, Bergholz, a son, Reinhold of the Town of Cambria; a grand-daughter, Delores Jagow; two brothers, William Goerss, North Tonawanda, and Charles Witkop, St. Johnsburg. Friends may call at the Hamp Funeral Home, 27 Adam St., Tonawanda, where services will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday. The Rev. Walter Koenig will officiate. Burial in St. Johnsburg Cemetery, St. Johnsburg.

    Obituary

    DOLORES A. HILL, age 84, of Cambria, NY, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on August 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY. Born in the hamlet of Bergholz, Town of Wheatfield on July 5, 1935; daughter of the late Rudolph and Alma (Stoelting) Jagow. She was a Niagara Falls High School graduate, and was employed at Bell Aerospace, and later at Union Carbide, in the office. Dolores was a devoted homemaker, a lifelong active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where she served as organist for many years, helped with Vacation Bible School, was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Altar Guild, and the LWML. Dolores was also a member of the German Historical Society, loved music, baking, gardening, playing cards with the card club, and the quality time spent with her family and friends.
    Survivors include her loving husband, Arthur Hill. They were united in marriage on June 27, 1959; two children, Stephen Hill of Bergholz, and Laurie (Thomas) Wikander of Wheatfield; six grandchildren, Joshua Waller, Britney and Christopher Hill, and Sarah, Jessica and Madeline Wikander; and three great-grandchildren, Seth, Christian and Eden.
    Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Thursday (August 22) from 4-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Denton White, on Friday (August 23) at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Road and Luther Street, Bergholz. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
