    MAHL - Fred J. Mahl 79, of North Tonawanda, Friday (Dec. 9, 1977) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Mahl was a lifelong resident of this area, member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, charter member of St. Mark's Senior Athletic Club. Former employe of National Biscuit for 42 years, retiring in 1963. He is survived by his wife, Hilda (nee Gierke); two daughters, Mrs. William (Rena) Young of Grand Island, and Mrs. Richard (Ardith) Markovitz of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren; three great - grand children. Father of the late Donald Mahl, who died in 1961. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Reackhof of Newfane and Mrs. Evelyn Milleville of Niagara Falls. The family will receive friends at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Road, Saturday, 7-9 and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held from St. Mark Lutheran Church Monday at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Thomas K. Spahn will officiate. Interment in White Chapel Memorial Park.

    Her husband, Theodore Milleville, died in 1970.

    ST. JOHNSBURG, N.Y., Sept 14 - Mrs. Rose Stenzel, 74, of the Ward road, died yesterday afternoon after an illness of several days. She was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfleld. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Otto Schmidt, of Wheatfield. and Mrs. Clarence Moeller. of North Tonawanda: two sons, Herbert and Erwin, both of this village; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild. her stepmother, Mrs. Augusta Mahl, of Wheatfield; five sisters.     Mrs, Pauline Gandt, wife of Albert Gandt of No. 1207 Oliver street, died at her home late last night after an illness of eight weeks. Mrs. Gandt was born in Saint Johnsburg 34 years ago. Besides her husband, one daughter; Miss Irene Gandt and two sons, William and Harvey Gandt of Gratwick; seven sisters, Mrs, William Hartwig of Derby, Mrs. Rose Stenzel of Saint Johnsburg. Mrs. Ida Schultz and Mrs. W. C. Schulmeister of North Tonawanda. Mm. William Hanneman and Mrs. William Lynn of Olcott and Mrs. William Winters of Niagara Falls, and two brothers.     Paint Co. for 42 years, retiring
    seven years ago.
    He was a. past president of
    the Immanuel L u t h e r an
    Church and a member of the
    Luther Laymen's League and
    a past president of the Delaware
    Hose Co.
    His wife, the former Hilda
    Trosin, died in 1963. Survivors
    include his son, John F.
    Mahl, Williamsville, and three
    grandchildren.

    home.

    WHEATFIELD - Bernice (Bonnie) Camann, age 85, of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home on November 20, 2010 at the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility in Lockport, following a lengthy illness. She was born November 12, 1925 in the Town of Wheatfield, NY to Theodore and Evelyn (Mahl) Milleville. Bonnie attended St. James Lutheran parochial school in Bergholz, graduated from the former LaSalle Jr.-Sr. High School and was employed in a civil personal position at the former Bell Aircraft during the war. She was united in marriage to Roland E. (Joe) Camann on June 1, 1946. He entered into rest May 2, 2010.

    Bonnie was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz, where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She belonged to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and enjoyed quilting to aid Lutheran World Relief. Bonnie was a charter member of the Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed parading and traveling with the Bergholz German Band. Bonnie always put others first and will be remembered for her giving spirit. Her joy was her family and their time together. She was well-known for her delicious pies and homemade baked goods. Hobbies and interests included reading Amish novels and playing games with her grandchildren.

    Survivors include her loving twin daughters, Karen (late Howard) Binkley and Maureen (Rev. Wayne) Jagow; five grandchildren, Nicole (Allen) Ganz, Rev. Andrew (Kathy) Jagow, Kim Binkley, Bethany (Michael) Moulden and Karrie (Glen) Gebhardt; four great-grandchildren, Jamie and Sarah Ganz, Lily and Claire Jagow; sister-in-law, Doris Camann and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Friends are invited to attend a memorial service in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz, on Sunday, November 28 at 3:00 PM. A private interment will take place with the family in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no prior visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Arrangements were by the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.

    Retired radio and television announcer John F. "Jack" Mahl , who was known for his booming voice and his trademark sign-off, "That's all from Mahl ," died Sunday (May 18, 2003) in Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 76. He was a City of Tonawanda native and a 1944 graduate of Tonawanda High School. During the post-World War II occupation of Germany, he served as a communications sergeant with the Army's 78th Infantry Division in Bremen, where he worked as a special-events news announcer for Armed Forces Radio. His local radio announcing career began in 1946 at WHLD in Niagara Falls, where he worked as a staff announcer and news editor. He then worked as news editor and announced for WKBW radio in Buffalo from 1950 to 1953, hosting a late-night music program called "Spotlight Serenade." In the meantime, he received a bachelor's degree from the University of Buffalo in 1952. From 1953 to 1968, he was staff announcer and television personality for WGR radio and TV. During that time, he was known as the "Atlantic Weatherman." Dressed as an Atlantic gas station attendant, he would end every segment with a salute as he said: "That's all from Mahl ." He was the midday news anchor at WEBR from 1976 to 1981 and then news director and afternoon news anchor at WBUF, where he acted as announcer for the "Mark Russell Comedy Special," which was televised nationally five times a year. Buffalo Broadcast Pioneers honored Mahl 's broadcasting service in 1997. In 2000, he was inducted into the Western New York Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Mahl ended his 55-year broadcasting career in 2001 when he retired from WNED-AM. A former resident of North Tonawanda, the Town of Tonawanda and Williamsville, he was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, City of Tonawanda, and a current member of First Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Tonawanda. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Barbara L. Strachan; a daughter, Lisa B. Blackley of Ashland, Ohio; four sons, John F. III of Greensburg, Pa., Dr. Thomas C. of Williamsville, Robert D. of Buffalo and Daniel J. of Cheektowaga; and seven grandchildren.     NORTH TONAWANDA - Karen S. Binkley (Camann), age 64, of North Tonawanda, was called to her heavenly home to be with our Lord and reunited with loved ones on March 6, 2011, after a courageous battle with her illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 4, 1947 to the late Roland and Bernice (Milleville) Camann. Karen grew up attending Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and School, an active member of the Walther League of which she held many offices, and later became a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where she served as the church secretary for 20 years, member of St. Matthew PTL, a Sunday School officer for 13 years, taught Vacation Bible School, was on the 100th Anniversary Committee, handwrote and directed Christmas programs and was a district deacon. Karen also enjoyed gardening, writing and spending quality time with her family.

    Predeceased by her loving husband, Howard L. Binkley on September 14, 1997. She was a devoted mother and is survived by three daughters, Nicole (Allen) Ganz of Pendleton, Kim Binkley of North Tonawanda and Karrie (Glen) Gebhardt of Wheatfield; twin sister, Maureen (Rev. Wayne) Jagow of Lockport; granddaughters, Jamie Ganz and Sarah Ganz; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many friends.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield on Wednesday from 12-2 and 4-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. A.W. Moldenhauer on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery. Lutheran Church in Wheatfield. June was employed as a bus driver for many years, in the Niagara Wheatfield School District. She was a member of the Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family.Survivors include two children, Ronald (Carlene) Wolf and Beverly (Varoujan) Sakalian, both of Wheatfield; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. June was predeceased by her husband, Clarence W. Wolf on April 23, 1998.     Run down by an automobile on the Niagara Falls boulevard near the Witmer road, town of Wheatfield, shortly after 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon Eugene Donald Stenzel, five years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stenzel, in front of whose residence the accident occurred, died in the DeGraff Memorial hospital half an
    hour later. Dr. John Kinzly, who attended the child, found that he sustained a fractured skull, a broken leg and numerous bruises and contusions.
    Driver Released
    Leo J. Roy of 1925 Tenth street, Niagara Falls, driver of the machine, was released after making a statement to Coroner J. E. Helwig and the state troopers. Dr. Helwig will continue the investigation of the accident today. Roy said he was on his way to
    the Falls and did not see the boy until he dashed into the highway, a short distance away. The Stenzels have their mail box on that side of the boulevard opposite their home. It is thought the child was on his way to the box to get the mail and was oblivious of the approaching machine. Funeral to be Wednesday. Besides his parents a brother, Gordon, survives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and at 2:30 o'clock from the St. James church in Bergholz. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery at St. Johnsburg.

    TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — LeRoy E. Stenzel, age 87, of the Town of Wheatfield, unexpectedly, on February 17, 2012 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mr. Stenzel was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he had served as an Elder and the Sunday School Superintendent. He had retired from Buffalo Pumps after 35 years of service.

    He was the husband of the late Claribel Stenzel, who died in 1997. Beloved father of Duane (Karen) Stenzel of Florida, Richard (Debra) Stenzel of North Tonawanda and Judith (Robert) Sommers of Wheatfield. Grandfather of Natalie (Ethan) Eldridge, Kristine (Kenneth) Perez, Sharon Stenzel, Jessica Stenzel, Jonathan Peter, and Jennifer Sommers. Great-grandfather of Autumn Perez and Matthew Eldridge. Brother of Mike (June) Stenzel of Niagara Falls. Uncle of several nieces and nephews.

    A 1950 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, he was a Korean War veteran and employed as a machinist at Kimberly Clark and Harrison Radiator. After retirement he was a courtesy driver for David Chevrolet.
    Mike was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451, VFW 9011, former Fire Police Captain with Bergholz Fire Company, and enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, Euchre, roller skating, and Bills fan. Mike was very patriotic and displayed the American flag proudly.
    Survivors include his wife, June E. (Williams) Stenzel; three children, Jeff (Belinda) Stenzel of Bergholz, Sandy (Bob) Miller of Houston, TX and Dawn Stenzel of Wheatfield; six grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Allison, Kyle, Sarah and Riley.     TOWN OF PENDLETON — Arthur C. Schulz, age 82, of the Town of Pendleton, died on Monday, June 20, 2011, at his residence, after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Clara (Pellman) Schulz. Arthur had been employed as Director of Manufacturing Support for Occidental Chemical Corp. for 35 years. He retired as Director of Production Development in 1990. Arthur received a "Man of the Year" Award from the Pendleton Town Board in 1976. He served on the Town of Pendleton Planning Board for seven years. Arthur was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Tonawanda. He loved to cook, camp, and hike, and loved his family and his dogs.

    He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha I. (nee Keyl) Schulz; five children, Judith (David) Georger of Avon, NY, Paul J. (Peggy) Schulz of Clarence Center, NY, Amy L. (Samuel) Folby of Lockport, NY, Jane C. (Brian) MacDonald of Salinas, CA, and Peter A. Schulz of Hong Kong; one sister, Ruth L. (late Clifford) Patterson of Chicago, IL; and 12 grandchildren.

    Family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (Between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda. Jerry was one of Olcott’s most ardent YANKEES’ fan. Life member of Olcott Fire Company. Charter member of Olcott Lions Club and received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Post in Little Valley, NY where he enjoyed many years of deer hunting. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Born in Newfane, NY the son of James Elwood Wilson and Viola A. Hanneman Wilson. He is predeceased by his wife Lucille A. Wilson, Daughter Karen A. Robinson and Son Steven W. Wilson. Also predeceased by his siblings, Adeline J. Smith, Lester I. Wilson, Genevieve R. Beers, Donald W. Wilson and Lee M. Wilson. Jim was a WWII Army Veteran serving from 1943 until 1946 being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant with the 311 Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division anti-tank Company at the battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes Central Europe Rhineland. Receiving medals; Bronze Star, Army Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal and Army occupation Medal as well as several others. Jim worked as a heavy equipment operator and member of the operating Engineers Local Union 463. He enjoyed bowling and was inducted into the Lockport Bowling Association Hall of Fame and was their former President. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing. He is survived by his loving companion MaryLou Shedd. His Children, Diane Zito of Tehachapi, CA, Janice (Paul) Lockwood of Lockport, NY, James Wilson of Lockport, NY, Tom (Debby) Wilson of Oceanside, CA and Timothy (late Julie) Wilson of Lockport, NY. Also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a son-in-law Michael Robinson. Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670  Main St. Newfane, NY on FRIDAY, October 5, 2018 from 4-8 Pm where a funeral service will be held on SATURDAY, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 Am. He was born in Newfane, NY, January 29, 1932, the son of the late James and Viola Hanneman Wilson. Don was a veteran of the US Air Force serving his country from 1952-1956 during the Korean War. He worked for US Postal Service for 28 years as a postal letter carrier in Newfane, NY. Father of Patti (Mark) Sidebottom of Buffalo, NY, Debra (James) Czyrny of Snyder, NY, Michael Wilson, Lisa Rosati, both of Buffalo, NY, Gary (Kathy) Wilson of Lockport, NY and Jeffrey (Gail) Wilson of Sarasota, FL.     With sorrow and yet joy, we announce the passing into the arms of Jesus Warren (Bud) Ward on December 3, 2019. Bud was born Warren Francis Ward on March 26, 1926 to Roy L. Ward and Frances A. (Hannemann) Ward.
    Bud lived the majority of his life in Wilson, NY, where he owned and operated Ward Sales and Service Automotive Repair. Bud was also active in rifle training with the Wilson Conservation Club, was a member of the Lion's Club, and served with the Wilson Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years. With the fire department he served as Chief for eight years, instructed in fire training and as a civil defense instructor. He was active as well in scuba rescue and as scuba instructor. Bud served honorably as a WWII Navy Veteran, Firefighter Seaman First Class on numerous assignments, and on the USS Enterprise at Midway.
    He married Joan H. Hornsby in 1952, whom had preceded him in death. He was preceded also by two brothers, Wallace (Wally) Ward and Roger Ward.
    Bud has celebrated six children: James P.(Jim) Ward, Toni (Geering) Leffler, Randy C. Ward, Audre L. (Ward) Kimpton, Allison B. (Ward) Nungester and Timothy W. (Tim) Ward. He is survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Buckeye.
    Bud was blessed with health and long life, remaining adventurously active until death at age 93.
    The public is invited to celebrate the life of Bud Ward during a Memorial Service set for Monday, December 9, 2019, from 6-8PM at the Wilson Volunteer Fire Company Hall. A reception after the service will be held at the fire hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wilson Volunteer Fire Company.
