Ferdinand Fuerch Is Laid at Rest
Funeral Services Are Held for Old Resident.
SANBORN, March 12.-Funeral services for Ferdinand Fuerch, aged 78, who died at his home on the Lockport road on Monday, were held from his late home this afternoon at 2 o'clock and 2:30 o'clock from the Holy Ghost church at Bergholtz. The bearers were Messrs. Otto Licht, John Strassburg, Albert Jagow, Ernest Monte (sic), Ernest Oswald and August Mueller. The Rev. Keuchenbacher (sic) officiated. Burial was in Holy Ghost cemetery at Bergholtz. Mr. Fuerch came to this country from Germany about 50 years ago and had always resided in this vicinity. He is survived by three sons.

Herman Fuerch, 67. a merchant tailor in this city for 31 years, died suddenly last night at his home, No. 168 Saxton street. He had been ill about two weeks. Mr. Fuerch was born in Brandenberg, Germany on September 7, 1854 and came to America in early youth. Two sons, Carl F. and Fred Fuerch and one daughter Louise Fuerch. all of Lockport, survive. The funeral will be held on Monday.

FUERCH - William Fuerch, age 76, of the Niagara Road, Bergholtz, in the Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital, October 16th, 1960. He is survived by a daughter, Elvera, 3 sons, Ronald, Norbert, all of Town of Wheatfield and Melvin Fuerch of Grand Rapids, Michigan, also survived by 14 grandchildren. Friends may call at the family residence where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. and in The Holy Ghost Lutheran Church at 2:30 P.m. The Rev. Robert Jaeger will officiate. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Fuerch was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. Charter member of the Bergholtz Fire Co., and 25 year member of the Carborundum Service Club.

FUERCH – Fred Fuerch, 60, died suddenly this morning, Nov. 12, 1953, in his home, WA St., Bergholz, N. Y. Mr. Fuerch was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, nee Mante; daughter, Mrs. Lorena Walck; granddaughter, Louise Walck; and brother, William Fuerch. Services will be at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, Nov. 15, in the family residence in Washington St. and at 3 P.M. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. The Rev. Victor W. Dahlke will officiate. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.

Fred H. Fuerch Employed at Harrison Plant for 14-Years.
LOCKPORT.- Fred H. Fuerch. of 168 Saxton street, former foreman in the press department of the Harrison plant here, died at 10 o'clock last night after a long illness. Last rites will be held Wednesday at 2:30 at the home and at 3 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran church with interment in Lutheran Cold Springs cemetery. Mr. Fuerch was born September 10, 1891 in this city, a son of Herman and Emelia Wilke Fuerch. and lived here all his life. He worked at the Harrison Plant for 14 years. Surviving are his wife Lucy Quandt Fuerch, two daughters Mrs. Austin Stahler of Batavia and Marion L. Fuerch of this city, a son Alvin F. and a sister Louise Fuerch of this city.

Miss Fuerch, 79, of Niagara Road, died Thursday (March 9, 1995) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness.
Miss Fuerch worked in the Coated Abrasives Division of Carborundum Co. for 45 years until she retired in 1979. She was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Bergholz Fire Company and a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two brothers, Melvin of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Norbert of Bergholz

LEWISTON — Norbert W. Fuerch, age 93, of Bergholz, was called to his heavenly home on April 22, 2012, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on April 28, 1918, son of the late William and Katherine (Urtel) Fuerch. Norbert was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, in Bergholz, where he served as a former treasurer, elder and choir member. He was also an exempt member of the Bergholz Fire Company and recently received a life membership, after being a member for 73 years. Norbert served with various positions on committees and was a past treasurer and assistant chief. He was a member of the original Bergholz Fire Company Band and continued playing and marching with the Bergholz German Band. Norbert enjoyed woodworking, gardening and golfing. He was employed for many years as a tool and die maker at St. Mary Manufacturing, in North Tonawanda, until his retirement.

Norbert was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Arlene V. (Ausderau) Fuerch, on June 30, 2010; two brothers, Ronald and Melvin Fuerch, and a sister, Elvera Fuerch.

Survivors include four children, Gerry (Sharon) Fuerch of Bergen, NY, Linda (Randy) Jasulevich of Pendleton, Les (Mary) Fuerch of Bergholz and Duane (Janine) Fuerch of Niagara Falls; seven grandchildren, David, Fay, Kari, Melissa, Matthew, Michael and Rebecca; five great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Bonnie, Alex, Abigail and Norah; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street, in Bergholz. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Lorena G. Broecker

Of Newfane, NY,  passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, in Elderwood at Lockport.  She was born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY,  on March 19, 1930, a daughter of the late Frederick and Gertrude [Mante] Fuerch.
Mrs. Broecker graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949. 
She was employed with various businesses in the area and became an on site promotions person with Tops for over 12 years and was also a care giver.
Mrs. Broecker served as President of the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary #1451 and the St. Matthews Ladies Guild and was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
She was involved with making quilts for Project Linus and always willing to help anyone in need.
Mrs. Broecker was the wife of the late Burton D. Broecker and the late Benjamin C. Walck.
She is survived by three daughters Louise (Gary) Schildhauer, Barbara St. Onge  and Linda (Charles) DeDario, seven grandchildren John Shannon, MAJ, US ARMY (ret), April (Anthony) Threet, Brent (Tara) Schildhauer, Kathy (Tracy) Taylor, Jenna (Wayne) Galloway and Angela (Josh Peters) DeDario and Brooke St. Onge, three great grandchildren Natalya, Keith and Emma,  also many nieces, nephews and friends in Walker-Hanover, Ontario.
Mrs. Broecker was the mother of the late Marie (late Dan Light) Shannon.
Her family will be present on Wednesday from 10-11 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7147 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM,  with the Rev. Kenneth Craig officiating. 
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
