John Mueller, 89 years old, of LaSalle
died yesterday at the home of his daugh-
ter, Mrs. David Heuer in Bergholtz. He
had been ill for about two weeks and
death was due to heart disease and gen-
eral breaking up due to his extremities.
The funeral will be held Wednesday after-
noon at 2 o'clock from his daughter's
home and interment will be made in the
cemetery at Bergholtz.
Mr. Mueller was born at Grimm on the
Ukernarck in Prussia in 1867 and set-
tled in Bergholtz while still a young man.
His wife died about 18 years ago. He is
survived by eleven children; three sons,
John, August and Philip or LaSalle, eight
daughters, Mrs. Augusta Williams of La
Salle, Mrs. Rosie Goerss and Mrs. Lydia
Heuer of Wheatfield, Mrs. Martha Metz-
ber of Oneida, Mrs. Annie Walck and Mrs.
Lina Walck of Walmore and Mrs. Tina
Collins and Mrs. Hulda Haseley of this
city.

Former LaSalle Trustee Passes
A. D. Mueller Well Known resident of That Section
August D. Mueller, a former trustee of the old Village of LaSalle and one of the best known residents of that section of the city, died Saturday afternoon at the family home, 9644 Pine avenue.
Mr. Mueller was born September 23, 1863, on the Mueller homestead, a son of the late Johann Mueller and his wife, Wilhelmine, nee Hellert. He attended the St. James Parochial school of Bergholtz, a Lewiston public school and the Martin Luther Seminary of Buffalo.
On November 4, 1837, he was united into holy matrimony with Miss Albertine L. Walck, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Walck, of the Town of Wheatfield, Mr. Mueller was a carpenter by trade and was widely known as such. He was assessor of the Town of Niagara for several terms and also for a number of years served as trustee of the Village of LaSalle. He was a faithful member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran church of Bergholtz, in which he was baptized, confirmed and married.
The deceased is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Louis Heuer, of Akron: and a son, Edward Mueller, of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren, two brothers, John and Philip, of Niagara Falls, and five sisters, Mrs. George Collins and Mrs. Gustav Haseley, of Niagara Falls, Mrs. August Williams and Mrs. Edward Goerss of the Town of Niagara, and Mrs. John Walck and Mrs. David Heuer, of the Town of Wheatfield, besides a large number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home and 2:30 from St. James church, Rev. Otto Bruss, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment in the St. James' cemetery on the Bergholtz road.

Longtime Resident, Mrs. Collins Dies
Mrs. Albertlne Collins, widow of a well known resident of the north end of the city for the greater part of her life died at her home, 1644 Niagara avenue. She was a member and active worker In St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church for many years. She is survived by four children. Mrs. Martin Schulz. Mrs. Ambrose Frank and Raymond and Benjamin Collins, four sisters, Mrs John Walck, Mrs. David Heuer. Bergholtz, NY, March 19 - Funeral services for Mrs. Auguste C. Williams, who died Mar 10, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her home and at 2;30 o'clock from St James Lutheran church this village. Bearers were J. Mueller, P. Mueller, E. Mueller, A. Walck, E. Walck, all nephews, and Edward Krull. Honorary bearers were June Williams, Betty Toellner, Alice Milleville, Sylvia Eggert, kenneth and Carl Krull. Miss Ada and Helen Goerss sang at the services at home. They were accompanied by Mrs. Adelia Eggert. The school children of the St James Lutheran school rendered a sacred selection at the church services. They were accompanied by Theodore Grabau, teacher, at the organ. Mrs. Williams is survived by one son, Arthur J. Williams, Town of Niagara, one daughter, Mrs. Henry Siegman, of St Johnsburg, NY, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Albertine Collins and Mrs. Hulda Haseley of Niagara Falls, NY, Mrs. Rose Goerss of the Town of Niagara, Mrs. Anna Walck of Sanborn, and Mrs. David C. Heuer of this village, and one brother, Phillip Mueller of Niagara Falls, NY. The deceased was 77 years old and was the wife of the late August A. Williams, prominent farmer of the Old Falls Blvd. Mrs. Williams was a member of the St James church and was one of the most most widely known residents of this section. The Rev. O. Resident of City 59 Years Dies
Mrs. Hulda Mueller Haseley. 77, a charter member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, which was originally organized at her home here in 1895, died last night at her home, 1657 Cleveland avenue. She had been in ill health for three years. Born at Bergoltz, January 21, 1870, she came to this city 59 years ago, and she was a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aid society for 50 years. On October 26, 1894, she married Gustav W. Haseley, who survives. Other survivors include five daughters and two sons, Mrs. Raymond G. Allen, Mrs. Fred Loge, Mrs. Arthur C. Rickert, Mrs. Elmer L. Luick, Mrs. Carl A. Luick, Benjamin G., and Myron H. Haseley, all of this city; two sisters and a brother, Mrs. David Heuer, Mrs. Anna Walck and David Mueller, of Bergholtz. Nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Monday at the home and a half hour later at the church. The Rev. Leonhard M. Ludwig, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Riverdale cemetery.

P A Mueller Paper-maker, Dies at 91
Philip A. Mueller, 91, of 9859 Cayuga Drive, a lifelong resident of the LaSalle area and a former papermaker, died Tuesday (May 11, 1965). Born in the former Village
of LaSalle Mr. Mueller worked 57 years in the paper making industry here,vhaving been employed at the old Pettibone Paper Co., Niagara Wallpaper Co., Defiance Paper Co. and the International Paper Co. He retired in 1952 at the age of 78.
Was Avid Hunter
Mr. Mueller was an avid hunter and fisherman during his earlier years. He was a member of St James Lutheran Church in Bergholz, and for many years was active in the church choir and the band in which he played the clarinet. mr. Mueller is Mr. Mueller is survived by two daughters, Helen at home, and Mrs. Rudolph (Louise) Beutel, of Sanborn, six sons, Paul, Albert and Norman of Niagara Falls;
Daniel Mueller of Lewiston; Rev. Henry A. Mueller Mazomania, Wis., and Rev. Marcus Mueller, Altamont, 23 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Esther E. Heuer. 77, of 2426 Jagow Road, Town of Wheatfield, died Saturday (Sept. 4, 1971) in Memorial Medical Center after a short illness. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, the Ladies' Aid Society and the Women of the Church. Survivors include her husband. John A. Veteran of WW1 born in LaSalle
WHEATFIELD - World War I veteran John N. Mueller of Cayuga Drive Extension died Thursday (Oct. 16, 1986) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medica Center. He was 91. Mueller was born in the Village of LaSalle before il was annexed to the city, and was a long time resident of Wheatfield. During World War I he served in the 77th Division of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Europe for one year at the Meuse-Argonne Forest. Mueller was a group service operator at the Carborundum Co. for 35 years before retiring in 1960. He was a member of the Carborudum Alumni Association, St. James Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 1451 and the Historical Society of the Town of Wheatfield. He is survived by his wife, Ella (Pfohl) Mueller; sons, Melvin Mueller, of North Tonawanda; Delbert Mueller, of Keller, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Eunice) Gardener, of Bergen, N.Y.; a sister, Lydia Stoelting, and a brother, Benjamin Mueller, both of Wheatfield; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Niagara Falls, Aug. 13. 1898, daughter of the late August and Albertine (Walck) Mueller. She was active in church groups and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Mars, Pa.
Mrs. Heuer was the widow of the Rev. Louis Heuer, who died Jan. 16, 1983. He was a Lutheran minister at. various churches for over 65 years. She was the mother of the late Rev. Bernard Heuer and sister of Edward Mueller, who died Oct. 19, 1989.
Mrs. Heuer is survived by a daughter, Gertrude Kalk of Canton, OH; and seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visiting hours are Saturday in Mars and at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, where services be held at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Her late husband, the Rev. Louis Heuer, was a former minister of the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Heuer, 91, died Wednesday (Nov. 1, 1989) in the St. John Lutheran Care Center in Mars, Pa. She and her husband moved to Pennsylvania from Columbus, OH, in 1975. Mr. Heuer died in 1983.
He was a minister at Niagara Falls area churches for 17 years before being assigned to churches in other parts of the country.
Mrs. Heuer is survived by a daughter, Gertrude Kalk of Canton, OH; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren

WHEATFIELD - Edward M. Mueller, 87, of Cayuga Drive Extension, died Thursday (Oct. 19, 1989) in Mount St, Mary's Hospital, Town Of Lewiston.
Mueller was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield.
He was a former Wheatfield town justice and was employed at the National Grinding Wheel Co. for 35 years. Be was a 50 year member of the Co-op Fire Insurance Corp. of Bergholz and served as its president for a number of years, as well as on the board of directors.
Mueller was actively involved with the Cataract Camera Club and was a recipient of many awards. He was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church, holding numerous offices over the years. After retirement he involved himself in the activities of the Retired Men's Service Club and especially enjoyed singing in its chorus. He was a member of the North German Historical Society. He was also first president of St. James Lutheran Church congregation.
He was the husband of Edna (DeVantier) Mueller, who died in l984 and was father of the late Lowell Mueller.
Mueller is survived by daughters, Audrey Walck of Sanborn and Marilyn Mueller of New Orleans; sons, Milton Mueller of Sanborn and Myron Mueller of North Tonawanda; and a sister, Whilimine (sic) Heuer of Ohio; nine ,grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz.

Born in the LaSalle area of Niagara Falls, she was a lifelong member Of St. James Lutheran Church and a member of the Seniors of the Church and the Senior Nutrition Center on Colvin Boulevard.
She is survived by two brothers, Daniel Mueller of Nova Scotia, Canada, Norman Mueller of Niagara Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz and a member of the church's seniors group and the Senior Nutrition Center on Colvin Boulevard, Town of Tonawanda.

Daniel E. Mueller, 86, formerly of Niagara Falls, died Friday (Dec. 6, 1996) in Nova Scotia. He was born Oct. 28, 1910, in Niagara Falls, the son of Philip and Auguste Mueller. He lived most of his life in Western New York and moved recently to Ensfield. Mr. Mueller was active in the U.S. Merchant Marine and in the International Life Boat Races before World War II. He learned to fly in the early 1930s and was a flight instructor for powered aircraft and gliders. Before the war, He was active in the Civil Pilot Training program, funded by the U.S. government, Niagara University and the University at Buffalo. During World War II, he was an advanced flight instructor for the Royal Air Force as part of the lend-lease program between the U.S. and the United Kingdom. After the war, Mr. Mueller flew with airlines in the U.S. on domestic flights and in Central America. He was the husband of the late
Enna (Tallman) Draper Mueller. He Is survived by his second wife, Mary (McPhee Ross) Mueller; a brother, Norman Mueller of Niagara Falls; a stepson, Lloyd Draper of Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Lorraine Anderson of Sanborn and Bonna Sue Himes of McGaheysville, Va.; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Daniel E. Mueller, a native of Niagara Falls and a pilot and former flight instructor, died Friday (Dec. 6, 1996) at his home in Enfield, Nova Scotia. He was 86.
Mueller was born in the LaSalle area of Niagara Falls and had lived much of his life in Western New York.
He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine before World War II.
Mueller learned to fly in the early 1930s and was a flight instructor in powered aircraft and soaring ships.
Prior to World War II, he was active in the Civil Pilot Training Program, funded by the federal government, Niagara University and the University of Buffalo. During World War II, he was an advanced flight instructor for the Royal Air Force as part of the Lend-Lease Program sponsored by the U.S. and the United Kingdom.
Mueller worked as a pilot after the war, flying with airlines in the U.S. and in Central America. He also worked in supervisory positions with the State Power Authority for 15 years and with Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for 14 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, astronomy enthusiast and world traveler.
He was the widower of Erma Tallman Mueller.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary McPhee; a brother Norman; a stepson, Lloyd Draper of Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Lorraine Anderson of Sanborn and Bonna Sue Himes of McGaheysville, Va.; and several step grandchildren.
Private services were held in Nova Scotia.

Town of Niagara, died Wednesday, Aug 14, 2002 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after being a resident in St Mary's Nursing Home for six weeks, after a lengthy illness. Born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on January 7, 1918 to Philip and Augusta (Wolf) Mueller.
He is a US Army veteran, serving from 1942-45, in which he was a flight instructor with the WW II Training Service. He was employed as a machine tender by Kimberly Clark, (later changing it's name to Cellu, then Nitec) in Niagara Falls for 47 years retiring in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling, and doing taxidermy. A member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church & Sunday School class in Walmore, where he is also a past trustee. He was united in marriage to Lydia S. Devantier on Feb 15, 1941, and their marriage was blessed with three children, Frederick (Gloria) Mueller of Camarillo, CA, Donald (Tillie) Mueller of Moon Township, PA, Carolyn Root of Tulerosa, NM, six grandchildren, Kristen, James, Kim, Jason, Jerad, Nathan, three great grandchildren, Gavin, Jacob, and Emma Grace and many nieces and nephews. Viola E. Pfohl, 90, of Fairchild Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn, who was a homemaker for most of her life, died Tuesday (May 18, 1999) in the nursing home after a long illness.
The former Viola Walck was born in Sanborn and had lived in Fairchild Manor since 1991.
Mrs. Pfohl, who enjoyed traveling, was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls, and was active with the church's Altar Guild.
Her husband, Martin, died in 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin of Niagara Falls and Delbert of Sanborn; two daughters, Marilyn Cornelius of Wellsville and Lorraine Steingasser of Sanborn; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

I. E. Walck Stricken At Church Meeting
SANBORN-Irwin E. Walck, 50, of 2466 Saunders Settlement Road, this community, died Tuesday, (Sept. 27, 1966) while attending a meeting at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Walmore.
The Tri-Community Ambulance removed Mr. Walck to Mount St. Mary's Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Walck, a well-known farmer in this area, was born March 20, 1916, in Sanborn, a son of Frederick and Helene Mueller Walck and had operated the farm at the Saunders Settlement address. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, a member of the church council and an exempt member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of the Niagara County Extension Service and Farm Bureau. Survivors include his widow, the former Ruth Retzlaff; a son, Glenn Walck; two daughters, Nancy and Fay Walck, all at home; a brother. Edward Walck of Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. William Walck and Mrs. Martin Pfohl, all of Sanborn. Another sister, Mrs. Elise (sic) Kroening, died in 1965. SANBORN - Mrs. Frances E. DeVantier, 73, of 6219 Ward Road, formerly of Lockport Road, died today (March 26, 1975) in Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls after a long illness.
She was a native of the Town of Wheatfield and had resided in the Walmore-Sanborn area all of her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Walmore. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. DeVantier, who died in 1968.

She was employed at Moore Business Forms as a presswomen from 1940 to 1960 and worked as a clerk at Slipko's food store from 1963 to 1973. Wittkopp, who survives, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 5, 1981. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Kenneth R. The death last night of Edgar Heuer, 20 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. David C. Heuer of Bergholz occurred in the Buffalo General hospital after a lingering illness. Heuer was born in Bergholz, where he had always made his home, and besides the parents, is survived by three brothers, Theodore, Elmer and Louis and one sister, Alice Heuer.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at two-thirty o'clock standard time from the late residence and at three o'clock from St. Jacob's church after which interment will be in St. Jacob's cemetery.

Bergholtz Youth Dies in Buffalo:
BERGHOLTZ, N. Y., June 17.-Edgar Heur (sic), 19 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. David C. Heur. who live one mile south of Bergholtz, died in the Buffalo General hospital on Wednesday night following a serious operation he underwent a couple of weeks ago and from which he never rallied. Besides his parents he is survived by three brothers, Theodore, Elmer and Lewis (sic), and one sister, Alice. The funeral will be held at the home of his parents on Saturday at 2:30 p. m. standard time and at St. Jacob's church Bergholtz, at 3:00 p. m., Reverend O. Bruss officiating.

Edgar Heuer Is Laid at Rest
Funeral Services for Popular Young Man on Saturday.
BERGHOLTZ, June 23.-The passing at Edgar Heuer, 19 years old, removes one of the most popular young residents of Niagara county (sic) and vicinity, whose life was in every respect an exemplification of Christianity and civility.
Mr. Heuer was born in La Salle on August 29th, 1907. but came to this village when a young child with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David C. Heuer. He was an employe (sic) of the Buffalo Avenue Shredded heat (sic) Company at Niagara Falls last summer, but went into business with his father at Niagara Falls. He enjoyed the peoples' respect and esteem, and their support in the realization of his worthy aspiration and will be sadly missed by all his old and new friends. He was failing in health about four weeks ago, which made it necessary for him to go to the General Hospital in Buffalo, where a serious operation was performed on him for kidney trouble two weeks ago, and from which he never rallied. He passed quietly and peacefully away on June 15th and will be deeply mourned by his parents, three brothers, Theodor (sic), Elmer and Lewis, and one sister, Alice. The funeral services were held from the home of his parents at 2.30 o'clock, standard time, and at 3 o'clock at St. Jacob's church last Saturday. The Rev. Otto Bruss officiated. Burial was in St. Jacob's cemetery, where many of his friends and forebears rest, and his tomb will be the shrine of a wide circle of friends and relatives for many years to come. The. flower tributes were many and beautiful, among them a large piece of the Bergholtz Strong Nine baseball team of which he was a member before his illness. Pallbearers were, Philip Moll, Hubert Ferchen, Roland Bruss, Martin Milleville, Edward Eggert and Albert Zimmermann

Bergholtz Man Called by Death
BERGHOLTZ, Dec. l6.-Theodore Heuer, 25 years old, of this village, died Saturday afternoon after an illness of ten months. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home here and at 2:30 at St. James Lutheran church. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate and interment will be in St. James cemetery. Mr. Heuer was well known at Niagara Falls where he was engaged in the meat business with his father, David C. Heuer, at 406 Seventh street, for the past eight years. He was a graduate of the Niagara Falls High school. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David C. Heuer. two brothers, Elmer and Lewis, and one sister, Alice, all of this village.

Elmer G. Heuer, 85, who operated David C. Heuer and Sons Market on Third Street, died Thursday (June 29, 2000) in St. Mary's Manor after a lengthy illness.
A native of Bergholz, Heuer was 12 when he joined the Bergholz German Band, playing saxophone and singing with the group for more than 20 years. He was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
Heuer served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Upon his return from the war, Heuer operated David C. Heuer and Sons Market, which was owned and operated by David C. Heuer and his four sons from 1905 through 1984.
A lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church of Bergholz, he served as its financial secretary for 20 years and was a member of the mixed choir and men's chorus. In addition, he was a member of Bergholz Volunteer Fire Company and Bergholz Exempt Fire Company.
Known for his Bing Crosby-like voice, Heuer was a member of the Retired Men's Chorus and the Niagara Frontier Oratorio Society. While his sons were young, he also served as a Little League coach, and he passed along to them his devotion to the New York Yankees.
He and the former Kathryn Ann Boyle were married for 59 years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Christine Schnepf; two sons, Frederick of Lewiston and Andrew; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held at 9:30 A.M. Saturday in St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Rohr Street, Bergholz. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston

In addition to his brother, survivors include his wife, Eunice; a daughter, Kathleen Potter; and a granddaughter.

WURL – Stanley F. Wurl, 65, of 48 Fillner Ave., North Tonawanda, Tuesday (April 10, 1973) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wurl was a supervisor for the North Tonawanda Parks and Recreation Dept., retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Rescue Fire Company No. 5, and retired Public Employee’s Association.

NORTH TONAWANDA - Harold H. Heuer, age 89, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, on April 15, 1921 to the late John and Esther (Mueller) Heuer. Harold was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during World War II in the 896th Signal Company. He was employed at Hooker Chemical for 40 years and a half years until his retirement. Harold was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Wheatfield and their Men's Club, American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451, Bergholz Volunteer Fire Co., Lutheran Layman's League, Town of Wheatfield Senior Citizens, North German Historical Society; volunteered at Meals On Wheels, Elderwood Health Care at Crestwood and North Gate Health Care Facility. Hobbies and interests included gardening, bowling and playing euchre.

Survivors include his wife, Jane E. (Pankow) Heuer. They were united in marriage February 9, 1946; four children, Curtis (Jeanne) Heuer, Mary (Henry) Striewing, Mark (Minerva) Heuer and Steven (Ann) Heuer; a brother, James Heuer; sister, Lydia Masters; five grandchildren, Nathan Heuer, Michael and Matthew Striewing, Virginia Kahmann and Jonathan Heuer; and a great-granddaughter, Briahnna Lynn. He was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Heuer and a sister, Dorothy Wolf.

Dorothy E. Wolf (Heuer), age 85, of Bergholz, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on August 23, 1923 to the late John and Esther (Mueller) Heuer.Dorothy was employed for many years as a custodian with the Niagara Wheatfield School District and worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections. She was a life long resident of Bergholz, a life long member of St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, member of the Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Wheatfield Seniors and the Wheatfield Republican Club. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and euchre tournaments. She was a senior volunteer at Northgate and Crestwood nursing care facilities, and the Errick Road BEN program.Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Wolf on November 17, 1980, and a brother, Clarence Heuer. Melvin J. Mueller, a retired National Fuel line foreman, died Monday (Jan. 22, 2001) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was 72.
Mueller was a native of Wheatfield and had been a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bergholz and a member of its choir.
He worked for National Fuel for 31 years, retiring in 1990.
Mueller was an active member of Bergholz Fire Company and its fire police and the Bergholz German Band. He enjoyed gardening and bowling.
Mueller is survived by two daughters, Colleen and Brenda, both of North Tonawanda; a brother, Delbert of Streetman, TX; a sister, Eunice Gardener of Bergen; his stepmother, Ella of Wheatfield; and a granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in St. James Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield.

Eunice H. Gardner, 92, of Bergen, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at her home. Eunice was born July 20, 1930, in the town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, N.Y., to the late John and Ada Milleville Mueller. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On May 17, 1961, she was united in marriage to Harry Gardner, who passed away in November 1989. Eunice was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Batavia. She loved serving her Lord in many ways. One of her favorite ways was meeting every Tuesday with her gal pals, where she hand sewed hundreds of quilts for Lutheran World Relief, for well over 30 years. For many years, Eunice was a child care provider, and has stayed in contact with many of them. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. She also enjoyed going out with the Gilliam Grant lunch group, Silver Sneakers, and taking day trips to the Amish Villages and stores. Along with gardening, Eunice enjoyed putting puzzles together, doing crossword puzzles, adult coloring, baking and going on Facebook. Her greatest joy was spending time at family gatherings enjoying the active great grandchildren and crazy fun of the Saran wrap ball at Christmas. Her marriage was blessed by two sons, Peter of Bergen and Philip (Dee) also of Bergen; a grandson, Jordan, and three granddaughters, Nicole (Angelo) Antonini, Kelly (Steve) Panek and Caitlyn Saville; three great-grandchildren. She is survived by a brother, Delbert (Gerda) Mueller of Texas; three nieces and one nephew. Preceded in death by brother, Melvin Mueller; and her stepmother, Ella Mueller. Eunice was a kind, loving woman of God and she will be deeply missed. Erwin J. Milleville, 76, of Cayuga Drive, died Tuesday (July 29, 1997) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, 'suddenly.
Born in Wheatfield on May 28,1921, he was the son of Hugo and Beata (Mueller) Milleville. He was a graduate of LaSalle Senior High School. During World War II, Mr. Milleville served in the U.S. Navy, in the Seabees. He married Jean Moebius on May 28, 1949. Mr. Milleville was employed at the former Oldbury County, which was latcr absorbed into Hooker Chemical, as a pipe-fitter for 42 years. He retired in 1982.
He was a lifelong member of St. 'James Lutheran Church, Bergholz, where he had held various positions, including Sunday schoolteacher, trustee, secretary and president. He was a charter member of the Wheatfield American Legion Post 1451. Mr. Milleville was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed bowling and golfing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Larry Milleville of Atlanta and Paul Milleville of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Linda Haseley of Sanborn; two brothers, Richard Milleville of Wheatfield and Donald Milleville of the Town of Niagara; five sisters, Florence Mielke of Niagara Falls, Winifred Proefrock and Alice Lang, both of Wheatfield, Janice Kysor of Lewiston and Beatrice Nehrboss of Newstead; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Alfred Milleville.

WHEATFIELD - Winifred Proefrock, a talented Danish needle painter, died Wednesday in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Town of Tonawanda, after a brief illness. She was 81.

Born Winifred Milleville in Wheatfield, she attended St. James Lutheran School and was a life member of St. James Lutheran Church and its Women of the Church, quilters and choir. She also taught Sunday school for more than 25 years.

Mrs. Proefrock was a member of the Bergholz Historical Society. She worked in production at an area factory during World War II. Her husband, Harold A., died in 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Haniszewski of Pendleton; a brother, Richard Milleville of Bergholz; four sisters, Florence Mielke of Wheatfield, Beatrice Nehrboss of Akron, Janice Kysor of Lewiston and Alice Lange of Wheatfield; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. James Church, Niagara Road and Rohr Street, Bergholz. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was born Nov, 29, 1924, in Wheatfield, the son of Hugo and Beata (Mueller) Milleville, He attended St. James Lutheran School, Niagara Falls High School and the former Trott Vocational High School.
Mr, Milleville served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 as a private first class in Company M. 35th Division, 137th Infantry Regiment. He served in Germany.
He worked as a head mechanic at the Niagara-Wheatfield School District bus garage for 20 years. He retired at the age of 55 and purchased the Meeting Place on Niagara Road. He ran that business for eight years in the 1980s. He also owned and operated the A + H Boulevard Garage across from Bell Aerospace with his brother-in-law, Harold Proefrock.
Mr. Milleville was a charter member American Legion Wheatfield Post 1465, VFW Post 9011 and the Wheatfield Businessmen. He was an exempt member of the Bergholz Volunteer Fire Co. and attended St. James Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing and helping out at the church and at the legion post.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Joanne C. Strasburg; two sons, Steven M. Milleville of North Tonawanda and Douglas J. Milleville of Bergholz; two daughters, Judith A. Alfred E. "Ollie" Milleville, 71, of Washington Street, retired head mechanic at the Niagara-Wheatfield School bus garage and former owner of the Meeting Place restaurant, died Thursday (Nov. 28, 1996) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after an illness of seven months.
The Wheatfield native attended St. James Lutheran School, Niagara Falls High School and the former Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls.
Milleville served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, and was stationed in Germany with the 137th Infantry Regiment.
He was a charter member of Wheatfield Post 1465, American Legion, and a member of Post 9011, Veterans of Foreign Wars; St. James Lutheran Church; and the Wheatfield Businessmen's Association. He also was an exempt member of Bergholz Fire Company.
Milleville worked at the Niagara-Wheatfield School bus garage for 20 years until he retired as head mechanic when he was 55.
He and his wife then purchased the Meeting Place on Niagara Road.
The couple operated the restaurant for eight years during the 1980s.
Milleville and his brother-in-law, Harold Proefrock, had owned and operated A&H Boulevard Garage, across Niagara Falls Boulevard from the former Bell Aerospace plant. Milleville also worked as a mechanic at Empire Builders of Niagara Falls before working at Niagara-Wheatfield.
Milleville enjoyed golfing, spending time with his
grandchildren and doing volunteer work at his church and at the American Legion hall.

Richard Edgar Milleville, born to Hugo and Beata Milleville on July 1st, 1927, passed away on May 3rd, 2017, at the age of 89.  Richard was the beloved husband of Emily (Dietz) Milleville for 56 wonderful years.  Richard was a devoted lifetime member of St. James Lutheran Church.  He attended Trott Vocational School in Niagara Falls and later served in the US Marine Corps from 1945 to 1946.  After his time in the service Richard worked as a millwright for General Abrasives for 33 years.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling, hunting, spoiling his grandchildren, and attending his family’s sporting events. He was a member of the Bergholz Fire Company for 63 years.
Richard is survived by two sisters, Janice Kirchner and Alice Lange and to sisters-in-law Jean and Joanne Milleville; and his ten children and their spouses; Richard (Nancy), Jeffrey (late Wanda), Jane (Clayton) Wilson, Michael (Janet), Sharon (George) Walters, Bruce (Debbie), Brad (Susan), Sue (Jeffery) Boyer, Michelle (David) Lyman, and Christine (Brian) Foy. He was the proud grandfather of Andrea, Jon, Kristen, Liz, Ricky, Jess, Ben, Carly, Mikaela, Jake, Ryan, Sam, Tyler, Megan, Julia, Mason, Dan, Arianna, Sydney, Sarah, Matthew, Alyssa, Nate, and Nick; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by six siblings, Erwin, Florence, Winifred, Alfred, Beatrice, and Donald.

He worked as a machine operator and expeditor for Carborundum, retiring in 1992. He also operated a roadside stand, selling produce.
Milleville was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sanborn and served as an elder, trustee, custodian and on various committees, including 10 years on the Evangelism Committee.
He enjoyed beekeeping, fishing, bowling and gardening.
His first wife, the former Gladys DeVantier, died in 1997.

He worked as a machine operator and expeditor for Carborundum, retiring in 1992. He also operated a roadside stand, selling produce.
Milleville was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sanborn and served as an elder, trustee, custodian and on various committees, including 10 years on the Evangelism Committee.
He enjoyed beekeeping, fishing, bowling and gardening.
His first wife, the former Gladys DeVantier, died in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, the former Joyce A. Herby of the Town of Niagara; four sons, Thomas of Wheatfield, Joel and Todd, both of the Town of Niagara, and the Rev. Deron of Skaneateles; a daughter, Barbara of Vienna, Va.; a stepson, David Herby of Buffalo; a brother, Richard of Bergholz; five sisters, Florence Mielke, Winifred Proefrock and Alice Lange, all of Wheatfield, Beatrice Nehrboss of Newstead and Janice Kirchner of Lewiston; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6169 Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery

She was born on August 7, 1922, the daughter of Hugo and Beata Milleville, and was the second of nine children. She moved to Las Vegas, NV in 2011. She was married 50 years to George William Mielke who predeceased her on July 9,1994.
Florence is lovingly remembered by her four children, Dave (Connie) of Niagara Falls, NY, Dan (Kathy) of Pilot Point, TX, Ron (Gayle) of Lockport, NY, and Kathy (Ron) of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother, Rick (Emy); sisters, Alice Lange (late Norbert) and Jan Kirchner (late Peter); and sisters-in-law, Joanne (late Alfred) Milleville, Jean (late Erwin) Milleville and Doris (late Ben) Measel. She was a life-long member of St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholtz, NY, sharing her sewing and needlework skills with Lutheran World Relief Quilts, Prayer Shawls for the homebound, and lap robes for veterans. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, welcoming friendliness to all, willingness to help others in need, and her famous angel food cake. She will always hold a special place in everyone's hearts.
Florence donated her body to science. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholtz, NY on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Walck was an accomplished porcelain artist, an officer in the Towpath China Painters Club, and World Organization of China Painters. Pictures of a number of her paintings were published in the organization's publication. Mrs. Walck was a member in the Niagara Women's Club, member of the German Historical Society, Sanborn Area Historical Society, and charter member of Artpark & Company. Audrey's greatest joy was the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Services for Milton H. Mueller of Sanborn, an industrial arts teacher, were held Wednesday in St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial was in St. James Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Wheatfield.
Mr. Mueller died Saturday (March 6, 2004) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after suffering a heart attack at home. He was 71.
He was born in Niagara Falls and attended St. James Lutheran School. He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1950 and from Buffalo State Teachers College in 1954.
As a college student in the early 1950s, Mr. Mueller worked on the construction of the Niagara Power Project. He served with the Army from 1954 to 1956.
Mr. Mueller began his teaching career in 1956 in the Lewiston-Porter Central School District. In 1959 he transferred to Niagara-Wheatfield Central School District, where he taught for 31 years before retiring.
He was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he was an elder. Mr. Mueller and his wife, Fern, traveled to Russia and China as missionaries, distributing Bibles. He was the television cameraman for the Niagara Ministries television program "Digging In," which is shown throughout the United States and Canada.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Fern S. Channell; two sons, Jeffery of Fargo, ND, and Douglas of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Deborah Bennion of Macomb, Mich.; a brother, Myron of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Audry Walck of Sanborn and Marilyn Mueller of New Orleans; and 10 grandchildren

Myron L. Mueller, age 73, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home to be with our Lord and Savior, on Monday, April 6, 2009 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on January 1, 1936 to the late Edward and Edna (DeVantier) Mueller. He was a lifelong member of St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he held various positions over the years and enjoyed singing in the choir. Myron served in the National Guard and retired as a carpenter superintendent with Scrufari Construction Company, was a 50 year member of the Buffalo Carpenters Union and was project manager, working on the Wheatfield recreation and water department buildings and was very proud of his accomplishments. Myron enjoyed bowling at the Manor II Lanes on Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, played bingo, traveled many places along the coast - Maine to the Carolina's, visiting lighthouses, faithfully kept a weather journal and had an A-frame at Rushford Lake, where his family vacationed during the summer months. Hobbies included woodworking, gardening, painting, puzzles, fishing and golfing. Myron especially enjoyed being with his family and watching his grandchildren play baseball, and would have an Easter Egg hunt at his house for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with pizza for lunch.Survivors include his beloved wife, Marlene (Goater) Mueller. The Rev. Leonard J. Schulz was so influenced by a neighbor who had been a missionary in New Guinea that he eventually spent 15 years ministering to the people of India.
Mr. Schulz, former pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Avalon, died last Wednesday of complications from a stroke. He was 84.
He had lived in Ross but had spent the past five years at Passavant Retirement and Health Center in Zelienople.
Mr. Schulz and his wife arrived in India in 1947, one year after they were married and four months before the country gained its independence from Great Britain.
They worked for the American Lutheran Mission and were stationed in southern India, where Mr. Schulz was assistant manager of a mission high school. They lived in bungalows with no electricity and suffered through several years of drought
"We were out in the country and it was pretty primitive," said his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Schulz.
After a furlough, Mr. Schulz returned to India with his wife for a five-year term as manager of a hospital for people with leprosy.
Those suffering from the contagious and disfiguring disease were driven from their homes and ostracized by the community, his wife recalled.
"It was our favorite term because we could be so helpful to people who were so unloved," she said. "Because they found love and shelter, they were more ready to listen to the Christian message of the love of God."
From 1959 to 1962, Mr. Schulz returned to the United States and served as pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chicora.
He and his wife then returned to India for a final five-year missionary stint. During this time, Mr. Schulz was pastor of a church and supervised other pastors.
"We really liked the Indian people and we felt such kinship to them," his wife said.
The couple returned to the United States permanently in 1967, and Mr. Schulz became pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Avalon.
When the Rev. Donald McCoid was named bishop of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 1988, he selected Mr. Schulz to serve as chaplain to the synod assembly.
"He was always positive. He always had a warm embrace and a firm handshake," McCoid said.
Mr. Schulz remained pastor of Trinity until his retirement in 1986. He then worked as a substitute and interim pastor in Lutheran churches throughout the area.
"He spoke about retirement being very busy but very fulfilling. And we certainly kept him busy because he was so loved by congregations," McCoid said.
Mr. Schulz was raised in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY He graduated from Capital University in Ohio, and earned a master's degree in divinity from the Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary at Capital. He also attended Hartford Seminary Foundation in Hartford, Conn., in preparation for becoming a missionary to India.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Schulz is survived by a daughter, Christine Schulz, of Grafton, W. Va.; a son, Martin Schulz, of El Paso, TX; three sisters, Gertrude Fetzer, of Palm Harbor, Fla., Florence Allen, of Buffalo, Erie County, NY, and Ruth Dugan, of Oswego, NY; and two grandchildren.
A funeral was held Saturday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ross. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Boylan Funeral Home in Zelienople handled the arrangements.

George Collins, 80, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Raymond and Mildred (Neubauer) Collins.

George was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas until his honorable discharge. On July 7, 1956 he married Theresa (Conny) Collins at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Collins predeceased him on January 17, 2007. George was employed as a supervisor at Greif Brothers in Niagara Falls, NY for more than thirty five years until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed tennis, horse racing, vacationing and traveling. But most of all, George's greatest joy was spending time with his family.

George is survived by three children George (Catherine) Collins of Maryland, Randy Collins of Niagara Falls, NY and Terri (Ralph) Guadagno of the Town of Niagara, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. WHEATFIELD — Bernice E. Forsey (Williams), age 86, of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home on December 16, 2010 at ElderWood Health Care at Crestwood. Born March 30, 1924 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Arthur and Eleanor (Ferchen) Williams. A lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz where she was active in the choir, quilters and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Bernice was also a member of the Bergholz German Band, Bergholz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Historical Society of North German Settlements in Western New York. During World War II, she worked at Bell Aircraft and later at the Carborundum Company, Abrasives division in Wheatfield. Bernice enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Charles Forsey; five children, Richard (Colleen), Forsey, Bob (Marsha) Forsey, Jim Forsey, Marilyn (Andy) Dawe and Carol (Scott) Misener; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Olive Chaddock, Elaine (Al) Eichin and June (Mike) Stenzel; and brother-in-law, Elmer Forsey.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. FacebookTwitterredditOlive Marie "Ollie" Chaddock (Williams), 93, passed peacefully in the company of her beloved sister, Elaine, at her residence in Port Orange, FL. Ollie was born in Niagara Falls, NY, to Eleanor (Ferchen) and Arthur Williams.
The family came to Florida in 1960 where Ollie continued raising her family and began a 15-year career as an accountant clerk and cashier for the Brevard County School Board. She has been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for 40 years.
Second to Ollie's love for her family and faith was her passion for gardening. Mounds of coffee grounds and love went into making the backyard of her longtime residence in Titusville an earthly paradise. Ollie also enjoyed traveling about the country as well as abroad.
Ollie is survived by her three children, Thomas, Amy, and Paul Jr.; three grandchildren, Nicole, Chad, and Michelle; and her two sisters, Elaine Eichin and June Stenzel.

Iron Mountain – Ruth L. Seely of New Port Richey, Fla., passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.

She was born on August 27, 1928, to the late Fred and Florence (Hasley) Loge’ and grew up in Niagara Falls, NY, and lived in Lewiston, NY, before moving to Florida. She truly enjoyed traveling and was able to spend a lot of time in Mexico and Niagara, Wisc. where she liked reconnecting with nature, the smell of wood smoke in the air, Canadian geese, the slower pace of life and the color of leaves in Autumn. Ruth liked playing Mexican Train, practicing Tia Chi, doing water aerobics, and was a super competitive ping-pong player.

She is survived by two sons Chuck (Vicki) Seely, Phoenix, Ariz., Jim Seely, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.; one daughter Carol (Bob) Harrigan, Lutz, Fla.; one brother Howard Loge’, Grand Junction, Colo.; four grandchildren Caroline (Chris), Kristine, Jennifer, Bobby and special friend Gary Johnson, Niagara, Wisc.

Edison Brown, age 97, formerly of Youngstown, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2014 in Hospice at Community North Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. After a stroke in 2012, Ed moved to Allisonvilie Meadows Nursing Home, Fishers, IN. He was born in Buffalo, NY on December 17, 1916 to the late Sophia (Brown) Allen nee Haseley.
The family moved to Niagara Falls early in his life where they resided on Cleveland Ave. near 18th Street. He attended Cleveland Ave. Elementary, North Jr. High School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He participated in many sports and was a member of the NFHS basketball team that participated in the inaugural City High School Tourney. He was a catcher on many fastpitch softball teams and recalled playing many games at the 22nd Street Playground. Also an avid golfer, Edison was a former City of Niagara Falls Junior Champion, and the runner-up in the Buffalo District Boys Division in 1932. He recorded two hole-in-one's during his golfing career. He was a member of Niagara Frontier Country Club for 39 years where he often volunteered on committees. Ed last played golf at age 90. He was known for using a wooden shaft putter. As a bowler, he participated in many WNY area bowling leagues and tournaments over the years and always used a non-traditional two finger bowling ball.
After high school he went to work at Kimberly Clark in Niagara Falls, where he became a Pipe Fitter. He worked there for more than 30 years and participated on many industrial league basketball and softball teams. Mr. Brown interrupted his career during the 1940's to enlist in the United States Navy during World War II. He served proudly for three years in the South Pacific Theater with the First Construction Battalion (SEABEES). Upon returning to the Niagara Region he married the former Winifred Langley. They moved to Youngstown in 1949. Winifred preceded Edison in death on Mother's Day 1981. After the sale of the Kimberly plant in the 1970's he held other positions and was active in the local residential real estate market until his retirement.
Mr. Brown was a former member of the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Department, Youngstown Exempt Fire Department. where he served for a period of time as Secretary. He often promoted Youngstown Labor Day activities for both organizations. During the 1960's he personally organized several "Sports Nights" in Youngstown by bringing in local celebrities as motivational speakers for the area youth. During the same period he was active in local politics serving as a volunteer on the "Youngstown Youth Commission". Mr. Brown was elected Mayor of Youngstown for one term in the 1960's. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 313, the Moose Lodge Down River Post in Lewiston, and was elected into the Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Lewiston, NY.
He is survived by son, James E. Brown (Pamela Weissman); grandson, Maxwell J. Brown; sister, Audrey (Ray) Williams; and brother, James (Alice) Allen; four nieces, six nephews, several great-nieces and great nephews. His sister, Virginia Kendall, preceded him in death in 2011.
The family wishes to thank all the friends who have shared their time and given their friendship and love to "Mr. Brown" over the years. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 915 Oneida Street, Lewiston, NY 14902, where there will be a service honoring his life on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM. NIAGARA FALLS — Virginia M. Kendall (Brown), age 92, of Niagara Falls, was called to her heavenly home on April 12, 2011, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 3, 1918 to the late Henry and Sophia (Haseley) Brown. She attended local schools and was employed at Moore Business Forms. Virginia was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and had been a longtime member of St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Bergholz. She enjoyed sewing and quilting with the ladies of the church. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Kendall. They were united in marriage March 30, 1940.

Survivors include two brothers, Edison (late Winni) Brown and James (Alice) Allen; a sister, Audrey (Ray) Williams; one niece, six nephews, five great-nieces, four great-nephews, two great-great- nieces; and was a very close friend to Lois and Wilbert Milleville and their extended families.

Friends are invited to attend a service officiated by the Rev. Jeff Milsten on Monday (April 18) at 10:00 AM in St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Rohr Street, in Bergholz. Born in Niagara Falls, he had lived in Youngstown the last 22 years. He was a 1942 graduate of LaSalle High School and had attended Niagara University and the University of Buffalo.
Mr. Rickert was employed by DuPont Co. in Niagara Falls as a traffic clerk in the Transportation Department. He retired in 1981, after 30 years of service.
He was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls. He had served as president of its Church Council and as a Communion Deacon. He also attended Lewiston Seniors.
He enjoyed reading, woodcarving and the arts. He frequented art museums, the symphony and the ballet. Survivors include a sister, Lois Griebner of Lewiston. A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 18th Street at Cleveland Avenue, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in the Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.

Obituary of Lois Griebner

Lois Rickert Griebner, 85, of Lewiston, NY, passed into the arms of our Lord on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Niagara Hospice in Lockport after a long battle with cancer. Lois was a loving wife to Robert Clarence Griebner, who was taken from her much too soon, and mother to Kristin and James.


Born on June 20, 1930, in Niagara Falls to Elsie Rickert (Haseley) and Arthur Rickert, Lois had one brother, William Rickert (predeceased 2005). She graduated from LaSalle Jr./Sr. High School in 1948 and soon after went to work at DuPont in Niagara Falls. After her husband passed away, Lois returned to school, attending Niagara County Community College for Business then securing a position with Staff Builders.


Lois was a strong woman and a pillar of the community. For more than 50 years, she was a very active member of the Lutheran Church of the Messiah in Lewiston as a Sunday School teacher as well as singing in the choir, serving on the women's guild, and being named Church Woman of the Year. She was also an active member of the Lewiston Garden Club, the 48ers group from LaSalle High School, and the Lewiston Historical Society. Lois loved her family and holidays, and family gatherings meant the world to her, as she found great joy in her family, both immediate and extended. Her love of the Lord shined through her.


Lois is survived by her daughter Kristin Griebner Lathrop (Lloyd), son James Griebner, and two grandsons, George Aron Wright and Robert William Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (1978) and brother William (2005).

Luick was a welder at International Minerals in Niagara Falls for 31 years and then at the Chevrolet plant in the Town of Tonawanda for 10 years until he retired in 1987. He was a member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club, American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451 and Grace Lutheran Church.

Earl E. Luick, a former World War II gunner's mate who participated in the Normandy invasion, died Sunday (Nov. 19, 2000) in St. James Hospital, Hornell, after apparently suffering a heart attack while hunting. He was 75.
Luick was born in Niagara Falls and had attended LaSalle High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
After the war, he worked for several years at Mang's Fish Market. He then became a machine tender at Kimberly-Clark Corp. which later became Niatec Corp. and then Cellu Products, from which he retired in 1981 after 31 years of service.
He was a member of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion, and Grace Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Luick is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Arlene A. Strasburg of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Kathy J. Majka of Niagara Falls; a sister, Carol N. of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Warren J. Sr. and Donald R., both of Sanborn; and two grandsons.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday in Grace Lutheran Church, 716 Cayuga Drive. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.

OBITUARY

Warren J. Luick, Sr., 92 was called to his eternal home on June 16, 2020.   He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Elmer and Lily (Haseley) Luick.
Warren was a 1946 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School. 
He worked for 6 years at the Carborundum Company in Niagara Falls and 37 years at Bell Aerospace Company in the town of Wheatfield retiring in 1989.    He started his career at Bell as a rocket technician advancing to Manufacturing and Engineering Liaison, Quality Control Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineer and eventually Quality Program Manager on the many rocket and space programs at Bell.   He worked in various capacities on programs such as the Rascal Missile, Agena Rocket Engine, Minuteman Missile, and the LEM Engine Moon Rocket.
He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served in many capacities and sang in the choir.   Warren also enjoyed being with his family, traveling, cooking, hunting, fishing, and in later years, genealogy and wine making.  He bowled for many years in a Bell league and the John Wilson Church League.
Warren will be sadly missed by his family. 
 
He is survived by his wife Marilyn E. (Feathers) Luick, whom he married in 1962; daughter Beverly A. (Scott) Lauer ; two sons, Warren Jr., Michael (Carolyn), and eight grandchildren: Nicholas and Bryn Lauer, Jacob, Jesse and Kasey; and Elizabeth, Kathryn and Zachary Luick and many nieces and nephews.
Warren was the brother of the late Kenneth R., Robert W., Earl E., Donald R. and Carol N.

SANBORN — Donald R. Luick, of Sanborn, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011, at his residence. He was 81. He was born December 20, 1929 in Niagara Falls, a son of the late Elmer and Lillian (Haseley) Luick.

Mr. Luick grew up in LaSalle and as a youth he passed time swimming in Love Canal. He attended local schools and entered the United States Navy in 1949, and served until his honorable discharge in 1953. Mr. Luick received numerous military commendations, including the National Defense, China and United Nations Service Medals and the Good Conduct and Korean Service Medals. Upon his discharge, Mr. Luick worked at Kimberly-Clark until its closing, at which point he began work with Battenfeld Grease & Oil in North Tonawanda. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, gardening and cutting wood, but most of all he enjoyed his time with his family.

He is survived by five children, Donna (Mike) Hubbard, Richard Luick, Susan (Thomas) Walker, Carol (Steve) Biro, Jennifer Luick. Mr. Luick is also survived by three step-children, Craig Chew, Terrence Chew and Rebecca (David) Sly; a brother, Warren (Marilyn) Luick; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Beverley (Chew) Luick (2009); step-mother, Agnes Luick; brothers, Bob (Ruby) and Earl (Arlene) Luick and his sister, Carol Luick (Roger).

PENDLETON — Joan C. Spatorico (nee Luick), age 67, of Pendleton, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 7, 1944, the daughter of the late Ella H. (nee Haseley) and Carl E. Luick. Joan was a City of Niagara Falls tennis champion in 1960 and a graduate of LaSalle High School in 1962. She married the late Salvatore B. Spatorico on November 15, 1969 in St. Joseph's Church. Mrs. Spatorico's pastimes included bowling, camping, fishing, spending time with her family, her trips to the casino and especially being a full time grandmother.

Joan is survived by her loving sons, John (Kelly Skrzypek) Spatorico of North Tonawanda, NY and Thomas (Valerie Tauro) Spatorico of Pendleton, NY; six cherished grandchildren, Griffin, Austin, Paige, Samantha, Peyton and Anthony; caring brother, Paul Luick; dear brother-in-law, Anthony (Nancy) Spatorico of Columbia, SC; one nephew, Derrick Spatorico of Rochester, NY; two nieces, Paula Luick of Niagara Falls, NY and Cheryl Farsalas of Chicago, IL; dear friend of Daniel and Miriam Leone.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — Gordon Philip Mueller, 77, of Cape Girardeau, MO, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Lutheran Home. He was born July 21, 1933 in the Town of Wheatfield, New York, the son of the late Paul and Edna (Strassburg) Mueller.

He attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and Niagara Falls Senior High School. In 1955 he graduated from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, IL. He served the Lutheran Church for forty years as a teacher, musician and administrator at congregations in Cape Girardeau, MO, McCook, NE and St. Louis, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Lida; two sons, Jeffrey Mueller of Muskogee, OK and Thomas (Pam) Mueller of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; one great-grandson, Hayden; five sisters, Madalyn (late Larry) Halt, Shirley Sexsmith, Velma (late Werner) Achenbach, Nancy (William) Lange and Judith (Paul) Janowsky; also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by brothers, Rev. Kenneth (Mary), Paul (Barbara), Leslie (Jackie) and Rollin; and sister, Beverly Mueller.

Paul L. Mueller, a Wheatfield native, died July 25 at his home in St. Petersburg, Fla., after a brief illness. He was 69.
A longtime Niagara Falls resident, Mr. Mueller worked as a chemical operator for the Du Pont plant in Niagara Falls for 36 years.
He was a member of Lodge 346, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, in Niagara Falls, where he served as exalted ruler for three years.
Mr. Mueller and his wife fulfilled their lifelong goal of retiring to Florida in 1997.

NORTH TONAWANDA - Longtime North Tonawanda resident Rollin R. Mueller, a General Motors Corp. retiree, died Friday in Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 64.
Born in Wheatfield, Mr. Mueller was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
He worked at GM for more than 30 years, retiring as an inspector at the Town of Tonawanda plant.
Mr. Mueller moved to Lakeland about nine years ago and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church there. He was a longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where he served as an elder.
He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR and deep-sea fishing.

Rev. Philip Kearns Mueller Age 88 Of Rice Lake, WI died Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. He was born on October 24, 1929 in Tabriz, Iran to Henry and Margaret (Kearns) Mueller. Philip graduated from the Ladysmith High School in 1947,graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and then his Masters Degree in Divinity from the Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Philip was married to Regina Welsch on August 27, 1954 in Jesup, Iowa. Philip’s completed his seminary internship in Fond du Lac, WI and then joined the Lutheran Orient Mission Society. Rev. Philip was ordained on April 14, 1957 in Arbil, Iraq by his father. He was Pastor at the Grace Lutheran Church in Marshfield, WI from 1959-1964, Mekane Yesus in Dessie, Ethiopia from 1965-1969, the Bethel and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hibbing, MN from 1970-1971 while he received his degree as a Registered Nurse at the Hibbing Community College. He then was Pastor at Fish Creek, Portland, Brush Creek and North Coon Prairie in Cashton, WI from 1972-1978, L’Accueil Fraternel in Chambon-sur-Lignon, France from 1978-1980, Senegal, Linguere in 1980-1988, he was at the Grace Lutheran Church in Brill, WI and the Barronett Lutheran Church in Barronett, WI from 1988 to 1989, the Bethlehem and St. John’s in Pella, WI from 1989-1999 and retired on August 1999. He then became the visitation Pastor at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake from 2000 - 2004. Rev. Philip was a member of the Right Reverends Quartet for 17 years, taught monday morning Bible Study at Bethany Lutheran Church for 18 years, participated in the text study on Wednesday morning with other area clergy and on Friday morning he led the Men of Bethany breakfast bible study at Maxine’s Restaurant. He enjoyed reading, fishing, bird watching, hiking, deer hunting and learned 7 different languages during his life. Rev. Philip will be remembered as the music sing-a-long leader every Sunday at 8am service where he would introduce and give the background of every song. He was a very gracious and kind man and was loved by everyone that he met. We thank God that his life was shared by so many people in the world. Beloved child of God, passed away on May 17th, 2008 in Coon Rapids, MN. Katie was born to missionary parents on December 16th 1931 in Soujbulak, Persia now known as Iran. She was a graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. She served the American Lutheran Church as a missionary in Papua New Guinea for 12 years. She taught first grade at L.O. Jacob Elementary School in Coon Rapids, MN for 27 years and was the creator and illustrator of the school's blue jay mascot. In 1953, she married Merrill Almon Clark and to that union were born six beautiful and strong children. Katie is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Carla Jean and Pastor Scott Larson, Robyn and Pastor Dan Clark-Bridges, Becky and Johnny Mitchum, Wendy Clark and David Dorow; sons and daughters-in-law Daniel and Nannette Clark, David Clark and Dr. Shu-Ling Chen; Katie was a remarkable woman and life-long educator. Her faith and love for all of God's creation was evident in the way she lived her life, her artistic abilities, and her poetry. Her witty sense of humor and clarity of mind were with her until the end. Mom's word was her bond. The good seeds she planted in many lives will be a lasting legacy. Ruth M. Haseley, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at her home under the care of her family. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on April 25, 1929, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Louise [Mueller] Beutel.

Family was most important to Ruth and, over the years, her love also embraced a large extended family. She will be remembered for her generosity of time and talent and her ability to meet life's challenges with abiding faith, love, and resiliency. Ruth partnered in the family farming business--working in the fields alongside her husband, making meals for the workers, and doing the bookkeeping. She also worked for the Niagara County Board of Elections.
Ruth enjoyed crocheting, cooking, arts/crafts, traveling, and planning events.
She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Ruth was the beloved wife of 62 years to LaVern E. Haseley, loving mother of Jane (Frank) Donato, Bonnie Mehls, Cindy (Timothy) Engleka, Ann (Frank) Testman, Charles Haseley and the late James Haseley, cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Leonard Beutel and late James Morgan.

Leonard H. Beutel, of Sanborn, NY, loving father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, November 19,2014 in Northgate Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on April 25, 1930 the son of the late Rudolph and Louise [Mueller] Beutel.

A lifelong resident of Sanborn, he graduated from LaSalle High School. Leonard served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he married his beloved, Mabel De Vantier in 1954.

Leonard was a milkman for Hoover's Dairy for 41 years, where he was well-known and loved as "Lenny the Milkman", before retiring in 1999. Leonard enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, teaching them German, making them laugh and sharing many stories, always with a smile on his face.

Devoted husband of 47 years to the late Mabel (DeVantier) Beutel, who died on November 15, 2001. Dear father of Larry Beutel, Loren (Annette) Beutel, and Linda (Scott) Hasley, loving grandfather of Benjamin(Sarah), Daniel, Nathan, Bethany, Julia, Collin, Connor and Trevor, great grandfather of Audrey and Bryson. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth (LaVern) Haseley and a sister-in-law, Elaine (Melvin) Pfohl and by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Beutel.
