HERBERT JOHN RETZLAFF, 82, of Port Richey died Friday at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Hudson. A native of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, he moved to this area in 1962 from Lockport, N. Y. He was a retired painter for a building construction company, a Protestant, a World War II Army veteran, and a member of the Masons and Veterans of Foreign Wars. .He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Schlau of Medina, Orleans County, NY; two stepsons, John L. Grimes of Coral Springs and Thomas N. Grimes of Crystal River; a stepdaughter, Mary Grimes of Front Royal, Va.; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. RETZLAFF, HERBERT JOHN, 82, of Port Richey, died Friday (July 3, 1998) at Hospice House, Hudson. Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he came here 36 years ago from Lockport, N.Y., and was a retired painter for the building industry. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Protestant. He was a member of Pearl of the West Lodge 146 F&AM, New Port Richey, VFW Post 10167, Holiday, Egypt Rite, Valley of Tampa. Survivors include two stepsons, John and Thomas Grimes, both of Crystal River; a daughter, Barbara Schlau, Medina, N.Y, a stepdaughter, Mary Grimes, Front Royal, Va.; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
