    Bergholtz Woman Hies at Home After Lingering Illness
    NORTH TONAWANDA, Mar. 13 - Mrs. Lydia Schmidt. 36 years old. wife of Benjamin Schmidt, died yesterday at her home in Bergholz after a lingering illness. She was a lifelong resident of Bergholz. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Hilda and Edna, and three sons, Raymond, Clarence and Richard, and two brothers, Erich and Charles Neubauer, all of Bergholz. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and half an hour later at the Holy Ghost church. Bergholz. Rev. John Kuchenbacker will officiate and interment will be In Holy Ghost cemetery.

Neubauer, age 90, of North Tonawanda, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Crestwood Skilled Nursing. Born in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Erich and Eleanor (nee Schwartz) Neubauer and was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. Jim was an Administrative Analyst with IBM in Buffalo for 30 years before retiring. He was an excellent 1st baseman and loved to bowl and golf over the years. An avid sports enthusiast, he was a fan of the Bills, Sabres and Yankees. Jim had been a member of Rescue Fire Company #5 for more than 65 years, was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1451 in Wheatfield, and had served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ann (nee Sando) Neubauer; two daughters, Diane (Joseph) Quinn and Judith (late Ronald) Williams; five grandchildren, Heather (Tom) Marinello, Shaun (fiance' Jacqueline Schmit) Quinn, Carrie Williams, Stacey Williams and Kelly (Robert) Bucci; and a great-granddaughter, Adeleia Marinello. Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Monday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda. Friends invited. Entombment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research are preferred by the family.

Neubauer, formerly of Cayuga road, Route No. 1, this city, was killed in action on Mindanao, Philippine Islands, June 19, according to information received by his mother, Mrs. Mildred Neubauer Bender, of 710 101st street. He was a member of the Coast Artillery Corps of the U. S. Army. He was inducted January, 1942. A graduate of Trott Vocational school, he was employed by Buffalo Bolt company, North Tonawanda, before his army service. One brother, Private First Class Lawrence E. Neubauer, is in the Army Air corps, California. A sister,
    Mrs. Irene Ketch, resides in this city.

    CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH — Lawrence Neubauer, 86, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2012, surrounded by his family. Mr. Neubauer was born and raised in Bergholtz, NY, where he played drums in the Bergholtz German Marching Band and served with the US Army Air Force in WWII.

    He relocated his family to Cuyahoga Falls after he accepted a job as an engineer with Goodyear Aerospace in 1959. Larry volunteered at Summa St. Thomas for nearly 25 years and enjoyed performing with Senior Singers. He was active in the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls where he taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and Elder. He had his private pilot's license and was an avid aviator, golfer and woodworker. He received numerous professional, military and volunteer awards. He touched many lives and hearts through his work and various activities.

    Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen; brother, Wallace Neubauer; and sister, Irene Ketch. He is survived by his daughters, Wanda (John) Hicks of Akron, Eileen Moore of Akron, Sue (Don) Wells of Cuyahoga Falls, Cindy Neubauer of Silver Lake, and Cheryl (Victor) Noviski of Mentor; grandchildren, James, Crystal, Casey, Dana, Michelle, David, Cory, Mark, Daniel, Sarah, and David; great-grandsons, Jeremiah, Jayden, Dustyn, Cameren, Bryden and Ayden; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

    Friends may call from 7-9 PM on Tuesday, July 24th in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls and from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday in the United Presbyterian Church, 2819 Hudson Dr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM with Rev. Adam Marquette officiating. Final resting place Rose Hill Burial Park. Military Honors by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Memorials may be made to his Church.
