Schmidt to attend a tea at the home of Miss Margaret Traxel for the benefit of the Woman's Auxiliary of Saint Paul's church. As they came to the house, Mrs. Martus complained of a severe pain in her chest and Miss Traxel, bemg a trained nurse, attended Mrs. Martus, who suffered a severe heart attack and she passed away before Mr, Martus or a physician arrived. Mrs. Martus was born in Constablevllle, November 23, 1862, daughter of the late Andrew and Elisabeth Weber Schwenk. She had always resided in this place. She was a member of the Lutheran church, and for past years she affiliated with St Paul's Episcopal church. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Miss Bertha E. Martus; a sister, Mrs. Anthony LJnck, of this place, and three brothers, George J. Schwenck, Constableville; Charles, Ilion, and Rudolph, of Taberg; also several nieces and nephews. Miss Elisabeth Zlmmer, niece, resided, with her aunt. The funeral services were conducted from her late home Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. George Dudley Barr, of St. Paul's church, officiating. There were many beautiful flowers and floral emblems surround ing the casket. Among them was a piece from neighbors, the Woman's Auxiliary of St Paul's church and many from relatives and friends. Interment was made in the family lot in Constableville Rural Cemetery, in charge of Undertaker Clarence L. Trainor. Edward Kraeger, William Greene, John Van Zandt, Nelson Hayes, Arvln Kirk, and James O. Traxel served as bearers.
