Mrs Albert H. Holland Dies At Home Here
Mrs. Amalie F. Holland, 64, wife of Albert H. Holland, 1058 Ninety First St, died at her home this morning after an illness of 5 months. She was a native of Bergholtz, NY and has resided here more than 60 years. Besides her husband, Mrs. Holland is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Roszel, of this city; four sons, Clarence, Harold and Edgar Holland, of this city, and Sergeant George Holland, of Fort Myers, Fla.; her father, Henry E. Strasburg, of North Tonawanda; six brothers, Edward. Albert, George, Walter, Harold and Benjamin Strasburg, all of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Gath. of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Lydla Philips, of this city. Eleven grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from the family home Wednesday afternoon, with services at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church in Cayuga drive at 2 o'clock, the Rev. George F. Hoyer. officiating. Interment will be made in Memorial Park Cemetery.

TOWN OF NIAGARA —
Lillian L. (Holland) Roszel, longtime resident of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was 92. She was born in Niagara Falls on October 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Albert and Amalie (Strassburg) Holland.
She attended local schools and then worked for many years as a nurses aide at several hospitals, retiring from Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Roszel was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, and a member of the Niagara Active Hose Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She dedicated much of her life to helping others including taking the time to help raise her daughter Gail's two children, Mark and Jimmy.
Mrs. Roszel is survived by two sons, Claire (Jeri) and Ronald (Grace) Roszel of Jacksonville, FL; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Roszel (1995); and her daughter, Gail Linnane (2004).
There will be no prior visitation and services will be held at a time to be announced.

Joan Arlene (Holland) Brown, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, died on Saturday, December 20, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House. She was 81. She was born in this city on July 31, 1933, the daughter of the late Lester and Dorothy (Koburn) Holland Davis.

She attended local schools and was a graduate of the former LaSalle Jr./Sr. High School on Buffalo Avenue. As a young woman she worked for American Secretarial Services. She then went on to earn her LPN and worked for St. Mary's Hospital when it was on 6th Street. She retired from Staff Builders, Niagara Falls traveling to the local nursing homes. She also worked for Bernie Stack.

Mrs. Brown loved this special time of year, Christmas. She looked forward to celebrations with family and friends, decorating the house and the peacefulness of the season. When time permitted with her busy schedule, she enjoyed crafting and painting. She was a longtime member of the former Epiphany Episcopal Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter "Bill" Lee Brown, Sr. Surviving are five children, Leslie (Jernigan) Searle of Niagara Falls, Lynne Jernigan of Binghamton, Phyllis (Jernigan) Vickers of Niagara Falls, Candace Jernigan Brasswell of Alabama and Walter "Bill" Jr., of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law, Dorothy Batterson; grandchildren, Patrick Jernigan, Laureanne Harrington, Jolene McBee, Sandy Weston, David Weston, LeAnne Bowden, Joshua Vickers, Christa Hodgkins and Alisia Hulon; nephew, Rodney (Rochelle) Batterson; nieces, Lisa Batterson and Linda (Charlie) Huchinson; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Richard Middaugh, Michael Davis and Douglas Davis; and a granddaughter, Amanda Vickers.

Friends may call Tuesday after 10 AM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where the Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch will conduct services at 1 PM. Interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Town of Lewiston. Memorials, if one desires, may be made to Niagara Hospice.
