GUSTAV BROECKER CALLED BY DEATH
North Tonawanda - Gustav F. Broecker, 70, who died Thursday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Weinheimer, 402 Niagara Falls Blvd. was born in the Town of Wheatfield where he resided all his life with the exception of last month spent at his daughters home. Mr. Broecker is survived by his wife Mary, two sons, William of the Town of Wheatfield, and Benjamin of North Tonawanda, five daughters, Mrs. Weinheimer, Mrs. Ernest Bluhm of Lockport, Mrs. William Mueller of Sanborn, NY, Mrs. Erwin Wendt of the Town of Wheatfield, and Mrs. Howard Human of Sanborn, 17 grandchildren; a brother, William, of North Tonawanda, and a sister. Mrs William Heppner. of St. Johnsburg. N. Y. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Weinheimer and half an hour later at the St. Paul's church in Martinsville. NY. The Rev. F. A. Hinners will officiate. Interment will be in St Paul's cemetery.

The former Ruth Broeker was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield and a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Ervin R.; four sons, Roger of North Tonawanda, Noel of Littleton, Colo., Gerald and Leon; a sister, Helen Human; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Human, 84, died Tuesday (Oct. 9, 2001) at her residence.
The former Helen Broeker was born in Wheatfield and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda. She was a homemaker for most of her life and worked for a few years in the office at her husband's company, the former Human Coal & Builders Supply Co. at Saunders Settlement and Shawnee roads. Her husband, Howard R., died in 1980. Mrs. Human enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen O'Connor of Bergholz; a son, Larry of Cambria; and a grandson.

Martha G. Kuntz (nee Bluhm) age 92, of Newfane, NY, died October 6, 2020 in Niagara Hospice House. Martha was retired from Mt. View Health Facility, Lockport. Martha had many dear friends whom she kept in touch with by phone, cards, and letters. Martha and her late husband Tony loved their many pets, they often volunteered as wildlife rehabilitators. Martha looked forward to watching the Lawrence Welk Show. She was the wife of the late Anthony Kuntz, to whom she was married for 57 years. Sister of the late Myra World. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and neighbors. In keeping with Martha’s wishes no funeral services will be held. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. BROECKER - Kenneth Arnold
Age 88, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 4, 2021. Kenneth was born to Benjamin Arnold Broecker and Viola Mary Niethe in Buffalo, New York, on April 13, 1933. Kenneth was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and served in the United States Air Force for 23 years where he earned many awards and honorable mentions. He was a Vietnam veteran. Kenneth was a faithful member of Saint Marks Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, he loved GOD, his family and his Country. Kenneth had many friends, loved to watch NASCAR races and going camping. Kenneth is survived by his children Kenneth Arnold Broecker Jr, Brenda Kay Short, Dori Lynn Linehan, Peggy Jo Davis, Kathy Mae Violanti, Karen Mary Kulaw and his sister Barbara Young. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary Helen Wyatt, age 85, went home to meet Jesus at her Sanborn, NY, residence on November 3, 2016. Mary was born in North Tonawanda, NY on May 15, 1931 to the late William and Louise (Broeker) Mueller. In 1953, she married J.P. Wyatt, who passed away in 1990. Mary was a lifelong and devoted member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener and St. Andrew's Ladies Aid member. She enjoyed bird-watching, baking and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her six children, Mattie (Peter) Wallace, Betty (Charles) Johnson, William (Marcia) Wyatt, James Wyatt, Sr., Mary Jane (Donald) Guyette and Donna (Matthew Pisarski) Wyatt; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by her loving sister, Ruth DeVantier of Sanborn, NY. She is predeceased by her brother, Arthur Mueller; and dear friend, Phyllis Stoelting.
Visitation will be held at DuBois Funeral Home, Niagara Falls on Sunday, November 6th from 1:00-5:00 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev R.P. Vogeler at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church on Monday, November 7th at 10:00 AM with burial immediately following at Acacia Park Cemetery. Ruth E. DeVantier of the Town of Cambria, NY, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Facility.   She was born in  the Town of Wheatfield, NY, on November 4, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Louise [Broecker]  Mueller.
Mrs. DeVantier was a Tupperware dealer for over 40 years and  was an active member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking and gardening.
Mrs. DeVantier was the wife of the late Elmer A. DeVantier, who passed away in June of 2002.
She  was the mother of  Robert (Susan) DeVantier,  Susan (late William) Thompson and Sharon (Kenneth) Walker and the late Richard DeVantier, six grandchildren Rebecca Drabczk and Christina DeVantier, Michelle Thompson,  Jayme  (Paul) Mohr, Dan and Andrew Walker, two great grandchildren Sara and Sean, also many  nieces and nephews.
Mrs. DeVantier was the sister of a late brother and sister.

Arthur W. Mueller, of Sanborn, NY, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, Erie County, NY.
He was born in Wheatfield, NY on September 25, 1935, the son of William and Louise [Broecker] Mueller. Mr. Mueller attended St. Andrews Lutheran school and church , where he was a life long member. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea as tank commander, during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Mueller was employed with the International Paper County, the Continental Can Co. and as a loom operator with the Carborundum Co. , before retiring in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1434, in Hinsdale, NY and enjoyed woodworking and mentoring others.
Mr. Mueller is survived by his wife of 49 years Beulah H. [Bennion] Mueller, they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November, three sons Raymond W. (Nina) Mueller of the Town of Cambria, Arthur W. (Lisa) Mueller of the Town of Lewiston and Guy A. (Linda) Mueller of Lancaster, PA, one daughter Linda A. (Thomas) Lowe of Denver, CO, two sisters Ruth DeVantier of the Town of Cambria and Mary Wyatt of Pekin, he is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Leon A. Wendt, age 83 of Wheatfield, NY, was called unexpectedly to his heavenly home on December 2, 2023 at his residence. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on October 12, 1940; son of the late Ervin and Ruth (Broeker) Wendt. A graduate of Starpoint High School, he earned his Bachelor's degree in business, at the University of Buffalo. Leon was employed in management positions by several firms, most notably by Allied Chemical. He went on to form a successful tax preparation and insurance business. Leon was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, in North Tonawanda, enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, was an automotive buff, and a fanatic basketball fan and coached several girls basketball teams. Survivors include two brothers, Roger (Carol) Wendt of North Tonawanda, and Gerald Wendt of Amherst. He was preceded in death by a brother, Noel Wendt.There will be a memorial service scheduled in January 2024, with the date and time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Arrangements were with the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, NY.

Noel L. Wendt, an engineer and former North Tonawanda resident, died Saturday in his Rochester, MN., home after a long illness. He was 64.
Born in North Tonawanda, Mr. Wendt graduated from Starpoint High School. He later earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University at Buffalo.
In the 1960s, Mr. Wendt was an engineer at General Motors in the Town of Tonawanda before working in the aerospace division at Bell Aerospace in Wheatfield in the early 1970s. He later worked as an engineer on NASA's Hovercraft in Texas and then on the Alaska Pipeline in Fairbanks and Anchorage. From 1998 until health problems in 2004, he was a consultant and computer analyst for FedEx in the Buffalo area and in Littleton, Colo.
In 2004, he moved to Minnesota.
Mr. Wendt was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda.
Surviving are his wife of 16 years, the former Kathie Martin; a stepson, John Panek; two stepdaughters, Erica Hanna and Leah Douglass; and three brothers, Roger, Jerry and Leon.
A memorial service will be at 3 P.M. Tuesday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda.

Larry D. Human of Sanborn, NY, passed away on  Monday, October 5, 2020, in Northgate Health Care Facility.   He was born in Niagara Falls, NY,  on April 3, 1945, a son of the late Howard and Helen [Broeker] Human.
Mr. Human graduated from Starpoint and served with the US Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the Old Guard.  
He was a die repairman with Jamestown Container in Lockport for over 30 years.
Mr. Human was an amateur  Archeologist and an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Carol [Potzger] Human, a son Daniel (Becky) Human, two grandchildren Henry and Harper and a sister Karen O'Connor.
His family will be present on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM  at St. Paul's United Church of Christ - Shawnee,  3921 Mapleton Road, North Tonawanda, NY, with the Rev. Ronald Lord officiating.
Interment with Military Honors in Wheatfield Cemetery.

JAMES PAUL WYATT, SR. age 56 of Palm Bay, Florida, was called to his heavenly home unexpectedly on November 2, 2017. Born July 28, 1961, son of the late JP and Mary Wyatt. Jim was raised in Pekin (Town of Cambria, NY), and was a graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School. He was a career mechanic and worked in several area automotive shops over the years. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. 
Survivors include his son, James P. Wyatt Jr.; grandson, Liam Wyatt of Harvest, Alabama; Lynn Wyatt; stepson, Brodrick Cambell Jr., stepdaughter, Sabrina Edwards; six step-grandchildren; a brother, William Wyatt; and sisters, Mattie (Peter) Wallace, Betty (Charles) Johnson, Mary Jane (Donald) Guyette, Donna (Mathew Pisarski) Reinbolt; and several nieces and nephews.

Notes:

Richard P. DeVantier  of the Town of Cambria, NY, passed away on Friday December 20, 2019 at his home.  He was born in Lockport, NY,  on July 20, 1949, a son of Ruth E. (Mueller) DeVantier and the late Elmer A. DeVantier.
Mr. DeVantier graduated from Starpoint  and then served in the US Army during the
Vietnam War.
He was a production worker with Harrison Radiator in Lockport for over 30 years, retiring
in 1999.
Mr. DeVantier continued to operate the family farm and was an active member of St. Andrew
Lutheran Church and a member of the NRA and Farm Bureau.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother Robert (Susan) DeVantier, two sisters
Susan (late William) Thompson and Sharon (Kenneth) Walker, also many nieces, nephews
and cousins.

His family will be present on Friday, December 27, 2019  from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL
HOME,  5983 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at
11:00 AM at  St. Andrew Lutheran Church,   3229 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY, with the
Rev. Kurt D. Schultz officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined.     Memorials may be made in his name to St. Andrew Church.
Interment with Military Honors in St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
