    Rites Tomorrow For Mrs. Henriette Meyers, 87, Sanborn
    SANBORN - Mrs. Henrietta Meyers, age 87. died at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Leonard Mante in Elm street, on Monday evening after a brief illness. Mrs. Meyers is survived by three sons. William, of Buffalo: Albert, of Shawnee, and Rudolph Meyers, of Pekin; four daughters, Mrs. Albert Witcop, of Lockport: Mrs. Gustav Blank and Mrs. John Yaude, of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Leonard Mante of Sanborn; two brothers. Rudolph Kuhlman, of Niagara Falls, and Charles Kuhlman, of Buffalo, a sister, Mrs. Pauline Schroeder; also 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Leonard Mante, in Elm street tomorrow at 2 p. m. and at St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran church in Upper Mountain road at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Christian Schmidt will officiate and interment will be in St. Andrew's cemetery, Pekin.

    LONG ILLNESS FATAL TO FALLS RESIDENT
    Mrs. Pauline H. Schroeder, 74, of 10,814 Pine avenue, died early yesterday at the Memorial hospital after a long illness. She was born in the town of Niagara and had resided in Niagara county all her life. She is survived by a son. Rudolf,
    of Rochester, N. Y.; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Krull. of this city: two stepdaughters, Mrs. Rose Aderman and Mrs. Irene Mellenthien, of North Tonawanda; two stepsons, John Schroeder, of Sanborn, N. Y., and Charles Schroeder, of Elba, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Rudolph Kuhlmann, of this city, and Charles Kuhlmann, of Buffalo, and a half brother, Fred Kuhlmann, of this city. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2:30 at the St. Mark's Lutheran church, in Oliver street, North Tonawanda. Interment will be in the Tonawanda City cemetery,

    Louise H. Wittcopp, 81, widow of
    Albert Wittcopp, died yesterday at
    Lockport City Hospital.
    Born in the former Village of
    LaSalle. Sept. 8, 1873, she was the
    daughter of Carl Meyers and Henrietta
    Krueger. The family moved
    to Buffalo shortly after her birth
    and she lived there until her marriage
    when she moved to. Cambria
    where her husband operated a farm
    until his death in January, 1953.
    They observed their golden wedding
    in 1952. . ,
    Surviving are a son, Arthur A.,
    Lewiston; a daughter. Mrs. A. L.
    Williams, Lockport: two brothers,
    Rudolph and Albert Meyers, Sanborn,
    and three sisters, Mrs. Leonard
    Mante, Mrs. Gustav Blank and
    Mrs. John Yaude, all'of Niagara
    Falls.
    Services will be held Friday at
    2 p.m. at the Prudden and Kandt
    Funeral Home and at 2:30 at Trin-
    ity Lutheran Church. Interment will

    Meyers Last Rites Held
    SANBORN - Services were held today for William Meyers, 74, of this village, who died Saturday (Jan. 18, 1958) in a Buffalo Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Meyers was born in Bergholtz, May 10, 1883. He was the son of the late Carl and Henrietta Meyers. He . was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Pekin. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Yaude, Buffalo; Mrs. Leanord Mante, this village; two brothers, Rudolph Meyer and Albert Meyer, both of this village, and several nieces and nephews. Officiating at the service was the Rev. E. K. Jeschke, pastor of St. Andrews Church. Burial was in St. Andrews Cemetery.

    Sunday afternoon of heart trouble, at
    tbe age of 18 years. He bad been in ill.
    health since Christmas.
    The young man was born on December
    16, 1903, at Alexander and resided there
    until be moved to Tonawanda 16 months
    ago. He leaves, besides his parents, a
    sister Ida, a brother Rudolph; three
    step-brothers, Adolph, John and Charles,
    and two step-sisters, Mrs. Rose. Broeker
    and Mrs. Irene Mellenthein.
    Tbe funeral took place this afternoon
    from St. Mark's Lutheran church on
    Washington street, of which he was a
    member, the Rev. Mr. Frankenstein
    officiating. The burial was at Tonawanda.

    moved into the Lutheran Home.
    Mr. Wittcopp currently lives at

    SANBORN - Clara L.H. Beutel, a former teacher at St. John Lutheran School, Wheatfield, and Trinity Lutheran School, Lockport, died Monday in her home after a brief illness. She was 101.
    She was born Clara Bartel in North Tonawanda and attended local schools. She married William N. Beutel in 1931, when she stopped teaching.
    She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
    Mrs. Beutel enjoyed singing hymns, tatting, crocheting and making dolls for her grandchildren.
    Her husband died in 1995.
    Survivors include a daughter, Hilda Snyder of Sanborn; a son, Herman of Sanborn; a sister, Gladys Beutel of Sanborn; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

    He was employed by the New York Central Railroad as a freight handler for 10 years. He then worked as an auto mechanic for 25 years for Niagara Falls Oldsmobile dealers. He later worked as a machinist at Zonel Paper Machine in Lockport, retiring in 1975.
    Blank was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, the Western New York Gas and Steam Engines Association of Alexander and the Sanbornite Senior Citizens.
    He had been an avid roller skater in his younger years.
    His wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Arndt Blank, died in 1989.
    He is survived by a son, Frederick G.; two daughters, Betty Jean Clark of Ransomville and Linda Ann Moxham of Highland, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 18th Street and Cleveland Avenue, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery, Newfane

    Viola R. Sahr, 75, of Townline Road, a lifelong Pendleton resident, died Tuesday (Oct. 21, 1997) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. The former Viola Meyers was a school bus driver for Ridge Road Express. She enjoyed bowling, crafts and farming.     He was a long time member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin. He served in numerous roles in the Church, local fire service, as well as County and State fire service.
    Until six years ago he was a regular on the North Tonawanda City Market selling produce he grew on his farm in Pekin,
    His wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Benthin) predeceased him.
    Survivors include five children, Janet (Randy) Schultz of Wilson; Marilyn (Jack) Pardee of Ransomville; Beverly (Mark) Walter of Pendleton; Cindy (Neil) Haseley of Tecumseh, Michigan and Dale (Mary) Meyers of Stamford, Ct,; nine grandchildren, Karla, Robert, Jaclyn, Kristen, Nicholas, Shawnee, Michael, Margaret and Sarah; three great-grandchildren, Damian, Christian and Rory; and several nieces and nephews and his sister Ruth Schultz. He was also predeceased by his brother, Gerhardt Meyers.
    A private visitation and service was held with the family in the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, with the Rev. Kurt Schultz, officiating. Interment was in St. Andrew Lutheran Cemetery, Cambria. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

    TOWN OF CAMBRIA — (Town of Cambria) - Gerhard R. Meyers, age 78, of the Town of Cambria, died Monday, July 26, 2010, in the Buffalo General Hospital, after a long illness.

    Gerhard was born June 26, 1932, in North Tonawanda, the son of the late Rudolph E. and Alvina (Hartwig) Meyers. He married Donna (Reinhardt) Meyers on February 2, 1957, in Lockport, and they have resided in the Town of Cambria the past 30 years.

    Gerhard first worked at the former Western Block Co. in Lockport. He then owned and operated an independent trucking company. Gerhard then was a School Bus Driver, employed by Ridge Rd. Express Bus Co., in Lockport.

    He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at North Ridge where he had served as an usher, as a past President of the Board of Elders, and as President of the Congregation. Gerhard was a trumpet player and member of the American Legion Sikora Post #1322 Marching and Concert Band in North Tonawanda. He enjoyed farming and collected models of farming equipment and tractors. He also entered his antique John Deere tractor in tractor shows.

    He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Larry Meyers of Lewiston, Jacquelyn Meyers of Ransomville, Jeffrey (Sherry) Meyers of the Town of Niagara, Michele Meyers and Melinda Meyers, both of Wilson; his grandchildren, Josef Delgado, Jeffrey Meyers, Jr., Nicholas, Kyle, Collin and Amanda Meyers; his great-grandchildren, Julia and Jacob Delgado; a brother, Carl (Elizabeth) Meyers of the Town of Cambria; a sister, Ruth (Benjamin) Schultz of North Tonawanda; and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Wednesday from 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29 at 11:00 AM in St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Town of Cambria, with the Rev. R.P. Vogeler officiating. Karl was born in North Tonawanda, New York and was the eldest of six and last remaining of his generation. Karl was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy and served on the Submarines USS Piper and ship keeper of the USS Cod in Cleveland, Ohio. Karl died peacefully after suffering from Alzheimer's for several years. Interment and service at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024 on Friday, March 9th at 12:30 with a reception to follow.     Mr. Krull worked as a pressman all his life, working at the Tonawanda News and Niagara Falls Gazette, the former Courier Express and than for many years for the Houston Chronicle in Houston TX.
