    LOCKPORT, Feb. 23 - Mrs.
    Louise H. Wittcopp, 81, widow of
    Albert Wittcopp, died yesterday at
    Lockport City Hospital.
    Born in the former Village of
    LaSalle. Sept. 8, 1873, she was the
    daughter of Carl Meyers and Henrietta
    Krueger. The family moved
    to Buffalo shortly after her birth
    and she lived there until her marriage
    when she moved to. Cambria
    where her husband operated a farm
    until his death in January, 1953.
    They observed their golden wedding
    in 1952. . ,
    Surviving are a son, Arthur A.,
    Lewiston; a daughter. Mrs. A. L.
    Williams, Lockport: two brothers,
    Rudolph and Albert Meyers, Sanborn,
    and three sisters, Mrs. Leonard
    Mante, Mrs. Gustav Blank and
    Mrs. John Yaude, all'of Niagara
    Falls.
    Services will be held Friday at
    2 p.m. at the Prudden and Kandt
    Funeral Home and at 2:30 at Trin-
    ity Lutheran Church. Interment will
    be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

    SANBORN - Services were held today for William Meyers, 74, of this village, who died Saturday (Jan. 18, 1958) in a Buffalo Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Meyers was born in Bergholtz, May 10, 1883. He was the son of the late Carl and Henrietta Meyers. He . was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Pekin. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Yaude, Buffalo; Mrs. Leanord Mante, this village; two brothers, Rudolph Meyer and Albert Meyer, both of this village, and several nieces and nephews. Officiating at the service was the Rev. E. K. Jeschke, pastor of St. Andrews Church. Burial was in St. Andrews Cemetery.

    as a trustee and elder for
    many years.

    Meyers, both of Upper Mountain
    Road; a daughter, Mrs.

    He is survived by his wife, Mildred K. Wittcopp of
    Clinton; son and daughter-in-law, Reverend William A.

    son-in-law, Katherine and Charles Gentry of Syracuse;
    grandchildren, Cheryl (Wittcopp) Becker of Churcttville,
    Chrystal Wittcopp of Chili and John, Ruth and Susan
    Gentry of Syracuse; one great-grandchild and several
    nieces and nephews.
    Graveside services were held October 12 at Acacia
    Park and Rest Haven Gardens in North Tonawanda and
    a memorial service was October 15 at the Martin Luther
    Home in Clinton.

    Arthur and Mildred Wittcopp,
    residents of the Lutheran Homes
    in Clinton, celebrated their 53rd
    wedding anniversary June 15.
    Mr. Wittcopp was born on Aug.
    31, 1903; his wife was born May
    24,1908. The couple were married
    at Zion Lutheran Church in
    Niagara Falls.
    The Wittcopps have two
    children, Kathryn Gentry of
    Syracuse and the Rev. William
    Wittcopp, a Lutheran minister in
    the Rochester area.
    The couple spent most of their
    married life in Niagara Falls.
    Mr. Wittcopp worked as a
    chemical operator for the DuPont
    company and Mrs. Wittcopp
    worked for the Board of
    Education in the Niagara
    Wheatfield school system.
    The couple came to Clinton in
    September 1983, when they
    moved into the Lutheran Home.
    Mr. Wittcopp currently lives at
    the Martin Luther Nursing Home
    while Mrs; Wittcopp continues to
    live at the Lutheran Home.

    Lockport and the Good Shepherd
    Lutheran Church in Fayetteville.
    He also was a member of the
    DuPont Retirees Club.
    He is survived by his wife,
    Mildred Shafer Wittcopp; a son,
    the Rev. William A. Wittcopp of
    Rochester; a daughter, Kathryn
    L. Gentry of Syracuse; five
    grandchildren, one great
    grandchild, several nieces and
    nephews.
    Graveside services were held
    today (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m.
    in North Tonawanda. Memorial
    services will be Saturday at 11
    a.m. at the Martin Luther
    Home, 108 Utica Road.

    SANBORN - Clara L.H. Beutel, a former teacher at St. John Lutheran School, Wheatfield, and Trinity Lutheran School, Lockport, died Monday in her home after a brief illness. She was 101.
    She was born Clara Bartel in North Tonawanda and attended local schools. She married William N. Beutel in 1931, when she stopped teaching.
    She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
    Mrs. Beutel enjoyed singing hymns, tatting, crocheting and making dolls for her grandchildren.
    Her husband died in 1995.
    Survivors include a daughter, Hilda Snyder of Sanborn; a son, Herman of Sanborn; a sister, Gladys Beutel of Sanborn; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

    She is the beloved mother of Howard (Arlene) of Medina NY, late Jerry (Gail) Beutel of Lockport, Raymond (Amanda) Beutel of Lockport, Bonita (Leonard) Forth of Macedon and Rev. David (Kathleen) Beutel of Sanborn.
    Sister of the late Edward Bartel, late Clara (late William) Beutel, late Louis Bartel and late Margaret (Allen) Stoelting.
    Also survived by ten grand children, eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Sylvester G. Blank, a retired machinist and former auto mechanic, died Saturday (Nov. 21, 1998) in Mount View Health Facility, Lockport, after a long illness.
    Blank, 88, formerly of Saunders Settlement Road, was born in the Town of Niagara and moved to Sanborn in 1958.
    He was employed by the New York Central Railroad as a freight handler for 10 years. He then worked as an auto mechanic for 25 years for Niagara Falls Oldsmobile dealers. He later worked as a machinist at Zonel Paper Machine in Lockport, retiring in 1975.
    Blank was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, the Western New York Gas and Steam Engines Association of Alexander and the Sanbornite Senior Citizens.
    He had been an avid roller skater in his younger years.
    His wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Arndt Blank, died in 1989.
    He is survived by a son, Frederick G.; two daughters, Betty Jean Clark of Ransomville and Linda Ann Moxham of Highland, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

    TOWN OF CAMBRIA — (Town of Cambria) - Gerhard R. Meyers, age 78, of the Town of Cambria, died Monday, July 26, 2010, in the Buffalo General Hospital, after a long illness.

    Gerhard was born June 26, 1932, in North Tonawanda, the son of the late Rudolph E. and Alvina (Hartwig) Meyers. He married Donna (Reinhardt) Meyers on February 2, 1957, in Lockport, and they have resided in the Town of Cambria the past 30 years.

    Gerhard first worked at the former Western Block Co. in Lockport. He then owned and operated an independent trucking company. Gerhard then was a School Bus Driver, employed by Ridge Rd. Express Bus Co., in Lockport.

    He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at North Ridge where he had served as an usher, as a past President of the Board of Elders, and as President of the Congregation. Gerhard was a trumpet player and member of the American Legion Sikora Post #1322 Marching and Concert Band in North Tonawanda. He enjoyed farming and collected models of farming equipment and tractors. He also entered his antique John Deere tractor in tractor shows.

    He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Larry Meyers of Lewiston, Jacquelyn Meyers of Ransomville, Jeffrey (Sherry) Meyers of the Town of Niagara, Michele Meyers and Melinda Meyers, both of Wilson; his grandchildren, Josef Delgado, Jeffrey Meyers, Jr., Nicholas, Kyle, Collin and Amanda Meyers; his great-grandchildren, Julia and Jacob Delgado; a brother, Carl (Elizabeth) Meyers of the Town of Cambria; a sister, Ruth (Benjamin) Schultz of North Tonawanda; and several nieces and nephews.

    Pastor Edwin Williams was born the second son of Arthur and Alvina (nee Whittcopp) in Buffalo, NY and was raised in rural western New York near the towns of Sanborn and Lockport. His father farmed in various locations and was employed by Bell Aircraft during WWII and later Nortons in Lockport.
    Ed was baptized into the Christian faith at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Walmore, NY and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport. He overcame many obstacles throughout his education. Since Low German was still spoken at home, Ed had to learn English when he started school, and he was the first in his family to graduate for high school. It was while attending Trinity Lutheran School that he first felt the call to become a pastor. He graduated from Lockport High School, from the former Concordia Junior College in Fort Wayne, IN, and from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He was ordained in Trinity Lutheran Church in 1961.
    In Ontario, he met his future wife, Carol (nee Hoover).They were married August 13, 1966 after a long-distance courtship between South Dakota and Toronto, Canada. Before cell phones and Skype, the courtship was conducted via written letters. Their daughter Joy, a physician, and her husband, Tim Peterson and grandsons, Matthew and David reside in Ann Arbor, MI. Son, Patrick, a neuroscientist, resides in Allentown, PA. Also surviving are brother, Richard (late Sharon); sisters-in-law, Jeanne (late Roger Williams), Lois (Ross Arnold) and Emma (Mike Depner); brother-in-law, David (Jean) Hoover and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Arthur and Alvina; sister, Kathryn (David Roadhouse and Glenn Klotzbach) and sister-in-law, Jean (Robert Schneider).
    A Celebration of Life was held on June 30, 2018 in La Vista, NE. Memorials may be made to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 7706 S. 96th St., La Vista, NE 68128.

    Kathryn (Kay) M. Klotzbach, 80, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at her home in Dublin, Ohio, on March 2, 2017.
    Kay was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She faithfully served as church secretary for many of those years and cherished her Bible studies. As a cafeteria worker at Middleport Elementary School, she enjoyed her interactions with the students. Kay loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, crafts, puzzles, and playing golf.
    Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alvina Williams; husbands David (Skip) Rhoadhouse and Glenn Klotzbach; brother Roger Williams; and sister-in-law Sharon Williams.
    Kay is survived by her brothers Edwin (Carol) Williams and Richard Williams; sister-in-law Jeanne Williams; and children Sandra (Gary) Sparks, Daniel (Molly) Rhoadhouse, Pamela (Todd) Cutter, and Susan (Ronald) Kullman;
    Also surviving are stepchildren Carol Heiligenthaler, Beth (Jack) Manley, Jeff (Virginia) Klotzbach, and Wayne (Beth) Klotzbach; 19 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
    Kay is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
    Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Middleport on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:00 am. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Richard P. Wolf will officiate and burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Middleport, New York.
    The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Dublin Assisted Living in Dublin, Ohio, for all of their love and care during the past 8 months.

    Roger A. Williams of Newfane, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Eastern Niagara Hospital of Newfane. Born September 23, 1930 in Lockport, he was the son of the late Arthur E.G. and Alvina (nee Wittcop) Williams. Roger had worked at Harrison Radiator as a production worker for 30 years. He retired in 1983. Roger married Jeanne Ferguson June 4, 1960 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Ridgewood. An Army veteran, he served his country during the Korean War in the 125th Division 14th Infantry Tank Company as a gunner. He achieved the rank of Corporal. Roger loved his family and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church for 49 years, serving on the church council for 24 years, was financial secretary for 20 years and also served as trustee. His loving wife, Jeanne Williams, survives him; dear father of Barbara Williams of Newfane, Paul Williams of Newfane, Norma Jeanne (John) Jacobs of Wheatfield and Robert Williams of Wheatfield; brother of Reverend Edwin (Carol) Williams of Omaha, NE, Kathryn Klotzbach of Medina and Richard (Sharon) Williams of Lockport; brother-in-law of James (Martha) Ferguson of Lockport; loving grandfather of Siana and Mackenzie Jacobs; several nieces and nephews also survive him.     John W. Beutel, 66, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a lengthy illness.
    Born in Sanborn, he attended Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls. Beutel served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Germany and achieved the rank of corporal before his discharge.
    Before and after his military service, he worked in the family business, William Beutel and Sons, a well drilling business. He worked there until 1964 when he went to work at the General Motors Chevrolet Engine Plant in the Town of Tonawanda. He worked there for 33 years as a repairman, retiring in 1997.
    In 1964, he married Patricia Ann Hickey. They settled in Tonawanda, where they were members of St. Amelia's Roman Catholic Church. Beutel was active in the parish's annual Catholic Charities Drive and was a past treasurer of the Tonawanda Boy Scout Troop 229.
    He also was a member of the Western New York Gas and Steam Engine Association; the Western New York Two-Cylinder Club, the Western New York Railway Historical Society; and the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.
    Prayers will be said at 8:30 A.M. Monday in the D. Lawrence Ginnane Funeral Home, 3215 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Amelia's Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda

    Herman David Beutel, 69, of Sanborn, NY passed away on Monday June 5th, 2006 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY, after a brave battle with lung cancer.
    He was born in Sanborn, NY, on April 10, 1937, to William and Clara [ Bartel ] Beutel. Mr. Beutel attended St. Andrews School, in Pekin; Wilson High School, Trott Vocational High School, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, and Bailey Technical School, in St. Louis, MO. He worked with his father and brother John in the family business, William Beutel and Sons Well Drilling. He also worked as a diesel mechanic for Brockway Trucks; Massaro Detroit Diesel; Niagara Diesel and Niagara Falls Coach Lines, prior to retiring on April 1, 1999.
    Mr. Beutel served in the United States Army from August 16, 1960 to August 9, 1962. Most of his active duty was in Okinawa, Japan. He received and honorable discharge and completed six years in the reserve duty locally. On August 18, 1978 he married the former Carol [ Reid ] Morgan, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, in Sanborn, NY. His hobbies included restoring old tractors and traveling. He traveled extensively with his wife Carol to all fifty States, seven Canadian Provinces, the Caribbean area and eight countries in Europe.
    He was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church - Walmore, Sanborn, NY,a member of the Operating Engineers Local 17, Sanborn Area Historical Society and the Sanbornite Seniors.
    Surviving is his wife Carol, sister Hilda Snyder, an aunt Gladys Beutel, of Sanborn; step sons, John Reid Morgan, of Lake Orion, MI; David Justin [ Ivy ] Morgan;granddaughter Kylie Morgan, all of Parma Heights OH; sisters in law Pat [ late John ] Beutel, Tonawanda, Erie County, NY; Ellen Reid, of Belmar, NJ; Marie [ Col. Larry ] Grundhauser, CO Springs, CO, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother John Beutel; brother in law William Snyder, sister in law Pat [ Bruce ] Erhardt and one nephew, Timothy Snyder.
    The family will be present Wednesday from 4 - 7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road.     Howard H. Beutel of Lockport, NY passed away on Saturday April 28, 2018. Born on February 26, 1934 in Sanborn, NY and lived there most of his life. He was the son of Hubert and Gladys Bartel Beutel. Howard served in the Air Force from 1953 – 1961 and retired from Harrison Radiator in 1991. He enjoyed music, playing the fiddle and performing with friends, reading and building small windmills. Howard was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville.
     
    Howard is survived by his wife, Arlene Beutel; daughter, Brenda Beutel; grandson, Braeden (Brandi) Beutel; great grandchildren, Braelyn and Briella Beutel; siblings, David (Kathy), Raymond (Amanda) and Bonita (late Leonard) Forth; sister in law, Gail (late Gerald) Beutel and several nieces and nephews.     Rev. Beutel is survived by his wife of 47 years Kathleen (Lange) Beutel, father of Laura (Ryan) Allen, Heidi Beutel, and Eric (Heidi Edmands) Beutel, brother of Raymond (Amanda), Bonita (the late Leonard) Forth, brother-in-law of Gail and Arlene Beutel.     Obituary of Betty J. Clark

    Betty J. Clark of Ransomville, wife of 59 years to the late Donald R. Clark, who predeceased her in April 2019, passed away on September 10, 2019, following a great fight with a terminal illness. She was born on March 21, 1941, daughter of the late Sylvester and Dorothy (Arndt) Blank of Sanborn. Betty attended elementary school in at the District #2 Tuscarora Road One Room Schoolhouse, later graduated from Trott Vocational High School, in the first class of Practical Nursing, in June 1958. On October 15, 1960 she married Donald, whom she met at the Cataract Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corp.  Betty worked for Niagara Memorial Hospital for 4 yrs, followed by Curtiss Chicken Farm, and was manager of Honeybears Bakery & Pizza in Ransomville, where she retired.  Betty was a member of the Ransomville Rural Retirees, Ransomville Thursday Luncheon Group, Past President of the LaSalle Auxillary Sportsman Club, Past President and Vice President of the Ransomville Lions Club, and board member of the Canine Helpers for the Handicapped.  Betty was an avid sports fan of the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills and NASCAR, with her favorite driver being Joey Logano.
     
    Surviving is 5 sons Robert (Dawn), Richard (Lynne), Ronald (Tina), Russ (Michelle) and Randall (Nancy); her grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel (Kelsey), Ryan (Liz), Justin (Megan), Teagan, Raechelle (John), Tiffany, Rachel, Michael; step grandchildren Emily and Shawn and 3 great grandchildren; sister Linda Moxham; and brother Fred (Elaine) Blank.

    Carol A. Stewart (Blank), age 67, of Pekin, was called unexpectedly to her heavenly home on Friday, August 29, 2008 in Mount St. Mary s Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on May 21, 1941 to the late Wilbur and Dorothea (Durow) Blank. Carol is a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1959. A longtime member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin, she is a former member of Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Inc., serving for 15 years. Her hobbies included painting, playing guitar and she played in several small bands. Survivors include her husband, Russell Stewart. They were united in marriage February 27, 1960; three sons, Brian Stewart of Sanborn, Steven (Deborah) Stewart and Kevin Stewart, both of Ransomville; a brother, Clifford (Jacqueline) Blank of Stafford, NY; seven grandchildren Jerad, Shawn, Kyle, Kaylee, Jessica, Angela, and Jonathan; and a great-granddaughter, Allison. Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Monday from 5-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. R. P.     Sioux Falls, SD - Alice M. Klos, age 62, formerly of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014, at her home in Sioux Falls.

    Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls with the family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 PM.

    Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Roger Klos; daughter, Andrea (Darin) Wickersham; three grandchildren, Tyler Dede, Samuel and Molly Wickersham, all of Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Viola Sahr.
