Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 4, 1933; son of the late William and Martha (Keller) Pendergast. He graduated from Trott Vocationa High School, and later became a Yardmaster on the former Niagara Junction Railroad and Conrail. Chuck retired in 1991 after 38 years. He was an union member with U.T.U., Yardmasters of America, and B.R.A.C.; serving as a union general chairman during his tenure. Chuck was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Walmore, an avid golfer and a life member of the PGA and USGA.Survivors include his wife, Beverly (Pfohl) Pendergast, whom he married on November 1, 1986; five children, Patience (Joe) Kosowski of Nashville, TN, Kathleen Kochems of Lancaster, NY, Charles (late Charlene) Pendergast of Goose Creek, SC, Elizabeth (Peter) Meyers, and David (Cindy) Pendergast of North Tonawanda, NY; two stepchildren, Kristen (Johnny) Seawell of Robbins, NC and Mark (Nancy) Miller of Waxhaw, NC; a brother, Thomas (Lillian) Pendergast; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Also preceded in death by siblings, Jean Murray, Joann Grauin, Mary Strasburg, Dorothy Seriane; James, William and John Pendergast.Friends are invited to attend the funeral service in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, with the Rev.     NIAGARA FALLS — Dorothy A. (nee Pendergast) Serianne, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Friday, July 19, 2013, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born on October 31, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Martha (Keller) Pendergast.

    Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, and attended local schools. Over the course of her career, she was employed by New York Central Railroad and J&J Luncheonette. Dorothy later retired from Mike's Caboose. She was a devoted, active member of St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Church in Niagara Falls, NY.

    Dorothy is survived by three children, Mary (Jay) Dojka of Wheatfield, NY, Marcy (late Mark) Larsen, Sr. of Niagara Falls, NY, and David (Patti) Serianne of California; six grandchildren, Joseph (Noreen), Nicholas DeMonte, Mark Larsen, Jr., Tammy (James) Patterson, Tyler Serianne and Tera Serianne and five great-grandsons. She is also survived by four siblings, Jean (late Jack) Murray of California, Charles (Beverly) Pendergast of Wheatfield, NY, Joann (Ray) Gruarin of Niagara Falls, NY, and Tom (Lillian) Pendergast of Tennessee; her goddaughter, Dorothy DeVantier and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by four siblings, James Pendergast, William Pendergast, Robert Pendergast and Mary Strasburg.

    The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, July 27th from 12:00 Noon until 2:30 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where a funeral service will follow visitation at 2:30 PM, with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Private burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094; or to the Alzheimer's Association of Western New York, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221.

    Joann graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1952. She married her beloved husband, Raymond L. Gruarin at the former Sacred Heart Church on April 24, 1954. Her entire life was centered around her family whom she loved dearly. She also enjoyed baking for family gatherings.
    In addition to her husband of 63 years, Mrs. Gruarin is survived by her children, Raymond L. (Sabrina) Gruarin, Dennis Gruarin (Cari Shaffer), Robert (Mary Kay) Gruarin and her daughter-in-law Leyla Sheehan-Gruarin; grandchildren, Stephanie Gruarin (Brian Haas), Dr. Scott Gruarin, Jeff (Krista) Gruarin, Grethe (Matt) Mackiewicz, Greigh (Alicia) Gruarin, Raymond Tyler (Maggy) Gruarin, Grace (Cristian) deRosa, Kevin Gruarin, Carly (Christopher) Cappuccilli, Christopher Gruarin, Katelyn (Ron Bernick), Casey and Cameron Gruarin; great-granddaughter, Sage; one sister, two brothers and predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Gruarin is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and fond of the dogs Copper and Dusty.
    The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and aides of the 3rd Floor at Schoellkopf Nursing Residence for the excellent care and compassion. 
    Visitation will be on Thursday, February 22nd from 3 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:15 A.M. followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27th and Independence Avenue. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. If desired memorials may be made to Holy Family Parish at Mt.     William A. Strasburg, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024 in Beverly Hills, California.
    He was the son of the late Donald and Mary (Pendergast) Strasburg.  He graduated from LaSalle high School in 1967 and University of Buffalo.
    He went to work at Melody Fair after graduating and soon went to work for Liberace.  Later he went to work for singer Englebert Humperdinck for over 40 years.  Englebert, his family and staff along with the many fans were like his family.  He was well loved by all for his kindness and thoughtfulness.
    Bill is survived by a sister, Susan (late Scott) Sullivan of Niagara Falls, and a brother Michael (Carol) of El Dorato Hills, California.  Also by nieces Leslie (Dan) Haick, and Annie (Rob) Munoz and their children, and many cousins.  He will be missed by all.
    Services will be held at a later date.
