    at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the

    Lutheran Cemetery.

    GORDON - Amelia L. (nee Strassburg) Gordon, of Tonawanda, NY., Sunday (April 27, 1980) at Kenmore Mercy Hospital following a long illness. Beloved wife of retired Police Lieutenant Warren R. Gordon, Sr., mother of Warren (Arlene) Gordon, Jr., of Cassadaga, NY., and Mrs. Brian (Linda) Carrigan of North Tonawanda; grandmother of Kelly and Mark Gordon, John Brian, Janeen and Julie Lynn Carrigan. Mrs. Gordon was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda, a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. A life member and past president (1959-60) of Tonawandas Unit 264, American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Past President's Club of Unit 264, the Niagara County Committee of American Legion Auxiliary, the Tonawanda Homemakers and was vice-chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. Friends may call Monday 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Hilliard Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Delaware St., Tonawanda. Funeral services from St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver St., North Tonawanda Wednesday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn officiating. Interment St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Church or the Salvation Army. An American Legion Auxiliary Memorial service will be conducted at the Hilliard Funeral Home Tuesday at 7 p.m.

    Mr. Gordon was the son of Warren R. Gordon Sr. and the late Amelia Strasburg Gordon. He received his bachelor's degree in business from the State University of Buffalo and formerly served in the U.S. Army National Guard. For 11 years, Mr Gordon and his wife Arlene Dalrynple Gordon owned and operated the White Horse Inn in Cassadaga and for the past two years had operated the Greenhurst Inn in Greenhurst, NY. He was a member of the Niagara Hose Co. of Tonawanda and St Mark's Lutheran Church of North Tonawanda. In addition to his father and wife, Mr Gordon is survived by a daughter Kelly Gordon and a son Mark Gordon both living at home in Dewittville and a sister Linda Carrigan of San Mateo.
