Mrs. Augusta P. Mante, nee Kandt, 73, of 135 Linwood Ave., died suddenly last night in DeGraff Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Albert Mante. She is survived by five sons, Reinhardt, of Bergholtz, Andrew, Edwin and Oscar of North Tonawanda, and Martin of St. Johnsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Wollenberg, of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Herbert Wilson; one sister, Mrs. Rose Kandt, 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Services will be in the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Wilson, WA St., Bergholtz, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and 2:30 from Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. The Rev. NORTH TONAWANDA - Reinhard C. Mante, 69, of 2509 Washington St., Bergholtz, died unexpectedly Saturday (April 25, 1970) at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Bergholtz, Mr. Mante was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Laymen's League and a charter member of the First Volunteer Fire Co. of Bergholtz. He was employed by the Wurlitzer Co. for 50 years and had planned to retire' next week. He is survived by a son, David .R. Mante, and a daughter Mrs. Admiral (Beulah) Haag, both of the Town of Wheatfield; two brothers, Edwin Mante of North Tonawanda and Martin Mante of the Town of Wheatfield; two sisters, Mrs. Arnold Wollenbergof North Tonawanda and Mrs. Herbert Wilson of the Town of Wheatfield; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30-p.m. Wednesday at the Fretthold Funeral Home, with the Rev. Albert Bahr officiating. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.

Martin H. Mante, a retired molder for the Carborundum Co. Abrasives Division, died Monday (Aug. 18, 1997) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda.
Mante, 81, of Errick Road, was born in Wheatfield and was a lifelong resident of the town
He worked at Carborundum for 42 years, retiring in 1978.
Mante was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz and a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League and the Wheatfield Senior Citizens. He enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary T. Scherrer; three sons, Martin Jr., Donald and Gerald; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street, Bergholz. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.

Charter member of the American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451 and member of the Bergholz Fire Company. He was employed at the former Wurlitzer Company in North Tonawanda and Chevrolet Plant in Tonawanda. Survivors include his wife Lucille D. (DiMarco) Mante. They were married September 27, 1947; son, Robert Mante; daughter, Sharon (Samuel) Chambos all of Bergholz; a sister, Beulah Haag of Wheatfield; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one niece. She was a life long member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz and was employed at the former Wurlitzer Company in North Tonawanda. Beulah also enjoyed waitressing at several local restaurants over the years, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Admiral L. Haag on March 3, 1993 and a brother, David Mante. Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie (Dennis) Milleville; two grandchildren: Scott (fiancee Julie) Milleville and Mark (Melissa) Milleville; four great-grandchildren: Chelsey, Bailey, Christian and Molly all of Wheatfield; two nephews and two nieces. Ruth V. Gorski, age 72, passed away on January 31, 2013, at her home. She was born on July 20, 1940 in Niagara County, NY, daughter of the late Edwin and Beulah Mante. Mrs. Gorski was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Gastonia, NC.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl McAbee; husband, Jonathan of Gastonia; brother, Harold Mante and his wife, Rosemary of North Tonawanda, NY; grandchildren, Jennifer McCune and Kimberly McCune; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Gabrielle, Keylan, Damien, Aydriannah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester J. Gorski; and great-granddaughter, Kailey Carroll.

WHEATFIELD - Donald G. Mante, who headed the Town of Wheatfield Highway Department for 22 years, died last Tuesday while on a hunting trip in Machais. He was 68.
Mr. Mante was a lifelong resident of the town and worked for the Highway Department for 38 years before retiring as its elected superintendent in 1999.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also was a devoted Cleveland Browns football fan.
Mr. Mante was a member of the Wheatfield Democratic Club, the Niagara County Highway
Superintendents Association and the Wheatfield Seniors Club.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, the former Arlene R. Krull; a daughter, Lori Mettler of Sanborn; his mother, Mary of Wheatfield; a brother, Martin Jr. of Wheatfield; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were Sunday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member. Burial was in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.

A funeral service for Gerald A. Mante Sr., 62, of Wheatfield, will be held at 8 P.M. Sunday in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Wheatfield. Burial in Wheatfield Cemetery is private.
Mante died Wednesday (July 31, 2002) in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Buffalo after a long illness.
He was born in Wheatfield and graduated from North Tonawanda High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1967.
Mante was a truck driver for Haseley Trucking from 1968 to 1998. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Joan; two sons, Michael of Venice, Fla., and Gerald A. Jr. of Niagara Falls; a stepson, Gene Campbell of Wheatfield; two brothers, Donald and Martin Jr., both of Wheatfield; and three grandchildren.
